I have a quick question, I put rosin on it, but it sounds scratchy and less elegant than most violins I hear. Is there a way I can fix that? I don't think I put too much on it. Thanks for your help :)
Great question! It's likely you put a lot more rosin than you need. Also, there are different types of blends of rosin such as dark or light. The lighter rosins tend to have a softer/less scratchy sound because of the recipe.
Hey! It would mean a lot if you could answer this: I just purchased a violin and added a bunch of Rosen, it’s a light yellowish color cake. But the violin is making a REALLLLY scratchy sound, it’s not even a violin sound. How do I fix this? Do I need less or more Rosen? Or do I need to purchase a new Rosen/bow
It could because your bow hair doesn't have enough rosin yet. You want the bow hair to look like a white/off white color. If it looks yellow or shiny, then you need to put more on.
My violin doesn't make sound. The last 2 high strings doesn't make any sound, tho it already have rosin on the bow and the stick inside is standing. What can i do?
@@erictheviolinist thanks a lot, my violin makes a "blowing" sound on my 3rd string, like a windy sound that doesn't appear on other strings I'm trying to figure out why but maybe rosin is the problem
Hello, I just got my Violin... And I played it but it didn't make any sound... So I was gonna out rosin, but my rosin is color yellow, light yellow.... I did tried rosining it but it still didn't work
I just got my new violin today and the bow was working earlier (I played the violin for 3 years) I put a lot of rosin on my bow but it still doesn’t make any sound. How can I fix it
@@erictheviolinist So the bow is new so I had to put rosin in it, the problem is, The rosin isn't working, we tried gently scratching it with a knife but there was little to no powder on it. The rosin was also new.
I just bought a Jordanian fiddle called a rebab. Thanks for uploading. This clears up a lot of trouble

Hello I rosined up my violin but it still makes that "wind" sound, I don't know if it's a problem with the tightening or not

Hi' my daughter try this tip but doesn't work. Is there any other option? Please let me know. Thanks
Is it normal for rosin to be dry because mines hard

Is the string at the correct tension?
My bow not making sound 😢 why reason 🙄😑
How much time can I play until I put rosin back ?
I recommend putting 3 to 4 swipes of rosin before you play.

I would give it a lot of rosin at first. You also have to “break in” the rosin for the hair to absorb. Do many swipes, you will get a better result.

my a and e string doesn't make any sounds,
Have you tried tightening the string with the peg or the fine tuner? Have you put rosin on the violin bow?
