The nostalgia. I remember visiting Vancouver in 2004 and being obsessed with these monorails. They were much better than the ones we had in Toronto. I also remember watching videos about these trains on the internet before TH-cam was even a thing.
Sometimes you do have to linger somewhere for an hour or so before you'll see it. I got lucky with seeing 401-404 at Stadium after having been there little more than 15 minutes - then got it again at 29th Ave. As for 405-408 those two were a little more elusive, but found them at 22nd Street and New West on different days of filming. Not seen one on the M-line yet.
Ok so i finally found one at waterfront station and rode it. i was waiting on the platform for a friend and by the time he got there a mk3 (413) showed up at platform 1.
Colin yeah Malaysia Kelana Jaya uses the similar ART trains by Bombardier just like the Vancouver SkyTrain except that Malaysia Only have mark 2 & mark 3 ART Trains.
ChinaAl There is only one yard and another one under construction, also there is a software that allows the people at the OMC (about 30 people that manage all of the about 100 trains) see the exact location of the train sets and drag them to stations and other yards.
As much as I love subways, I found this video a bit boring! watching trains coming in and out of stations for me doesn't merit 45 minutes worth of video. There was no passenger perspective, i.e.. shot from the motorman's cab when possible! This could have been edited down to 15 to 20 minutes for my taste! Despite my complaint, I did add it to my Urbanrailer video collection!
I have recorded full-rides on SkyTrain with various trains. Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3s. They can be found on the same playlist. All were shot from the front and show the interior passenger space too.

The Canada Line trains sound similar to the Long Island Rail Road M7s, and Metro North Railroad M7As & M8s.
Awesome video! 👋🌝
Same train model at kuala lumpur Malaysia.
Yep! Such a good system that even Malaysia adopted the system and the trains. I love it
Expo line can’t go to VCC Clark station
When He was doing skytrain at lougheed town center almost all trains were Mark 1
That looks like the train here in toronto
Virtually identical, same manufacturer/builder. Vancouver expanded on their initial system, while Toronto did not.
@@Welwyn22 ur smart
Same trains
Thx
No front windows? Apparently these trains are automatic?
Amazing. Thank you. can they be manually controlled in the switching yards or in emergencies?
Thanks. Really neat system. Looks super clean

It has been fully automated since it began operation in 1985
+Buizel Productions Canada Line OMC however only has about five people working in the control room.
Does the train driver sit inside a remote air conditioned office or are these fully automated trains?
These trains are fully automated - however they do have the ability to be controlled manually by an operator.
@Lucas Cain control centre
I live south of seattle and miss the sky train ;(((((

It never gets old if you’ve ever ridden it
