@@UnstableYT-u7k bruh, debuting groups and not giving them frequent comebacks Mistreating foreign idols Using them for popularity and then throwing them under the bus (gdragon) Giving 1 year hiatus before debut (treasure) Giving a 2 year hiatus and then suddenly throwing groups into a world tour (BlackPink)
i’m a yg stan and theres no denying how many hits they’ve released and how they’ve had iconic groups like bigbang, 2ne1,ikon and blackpink, but they’ve definitely taken a wrong direction and it feels like we’re still stuck in 2nd gen with the recycled formula over and over again
This is really sad. I love 2NE1 and Blackpink, and recently got really into Babymonster, and I don't want to see Babymonster managed poorly. The girls deserve proper management.
YG putting a Leash on their Artist, an old style managements do’nt work now, youngster are already wise now a days, BP has 3 modern headed influence of todays generation, especially they grew outside Korea, and are not backward headed girls.
Babymonster is hella talented but Batter Up was def not it. They need a song that is not YG style and heavy on dem vocals and they surely needs to fix that bare minimum publicity and management. That is YG artists biggest downfall imo, cause they sure do know how to make excellent artist but suck at managing them
Other companies prioritize all their groups JYP managed to make ITZY big while still having TWICE, hybe managed to make Newjeans and Leserrafim big while having BTS, YG has other groups currently but they never been able to be as successful (besides treasure) or at least maintain it. And especially with how they advertise babymonster they’re set for failure to be in blackpink’s shadow.
@@meIatonin even treasure are not that big as newjeans, lesserifim, aespa, txt, straykids, ive 😑yg artist don't have two or more big artist only one will do in charts unlike other companies like hybe bts, newjeans, lesserifm or jyo twice ,straykids who are doing well in charts both in korea and western
YG's downfall started with 2NE1. The girls endured so much from being publicly shamed for being ugly even worse being called ugly by YG himself yet they rewarded him with multiple number 1 charting songs and cemented YG's place in the Big 3 only to erase Minzy's contribution from the group after she refused to renew her contract then later-on disbanding 2NE1 without first telling the remaining 3 members. THEY FOUND OUT THROUGH THE MEDIA. Bom signed something she thought was an artists transfer contract to Black Label only to find out via tweet of BL through her fan's inquiry that they dropped her. They were blessed with BlackPink and could've become the number 1 label but they didn't let them do much. Fans complaining that BP seemed to have lost their passion for music must've had A LOT to do with YGE hindering them. Basing from 2NE1 members's expose that they write, record, & shoot a lot of music but only a slim chance of those being published. YGE is good in casting unique talents & putting groups with great chemistry but they're not good in managing them.
YG's greatest achievements happened after 2ne1 with Black Pink. "Fans complaining that BP seemed to have lost their passion for music"......lol....holy fuq. Fans are emotional toddlers. Fans don't know the first damn thing about whether or not BP "lost their passion for music". Good lord go outside and touch grass. Show me the evidence of lost passion. Y'all literally just make stuff up.
@@mattraisbeck3701 you can tell... if you think Rose was happy for not being allow to release her own music. Jennie putting little effort at dancing. All the members having few songs after all these years and them prioritizing other brand activities over music, etc... YG sucks
@@karelys-qk5ng I think you're projecting your feelings. Jennie put little effort at dancing could be for any number of reasons yet you're absolutely convinced it's for the reasons you've conjured up in your head. Prioritizing other brand activities over music has to be the most non-sensical complaint ever. What difference does that make? They're not just music artists. They've outgrown that. Why is that such a hard concept to grasp? Blinks are so stuck in the mud on this concept. Do you think Lisa makes more money from Celine or from Black Pink's music? If you think the answer is Celine....and I hope to god you do.....then you would be foolish to not prioritize that over music. Now think about what the 4 of them combined make away from music. Why would you sacrifice all of that for the sake of releasing more music? Just to pacify a whiny little fan base?
@@karelys-qk5ng You misunderstood, I think you're projecting your feelings towards YG onto the girls as though they share your feelings. Balance between brand activities and music is exactly what they have, Blinks just seem to think that music should be the main focus. Some blinks even think it should be the only focus. As far as making music goes, you just assume that the girls want to do this. What has made you think Lisa or Jisoo have had the least bit of interest in writing music? Rose has shown interest, the others, not so much. What makes you think they would be any good at it? That's the other thing that bugs me, you just assume that they would be good at it, but why? You have some of the top producers and songwriters in the world writing your music. Why change that. Jennie and Rose tried writing a few songs with Ryan Tedder for the Born Pink Album which he so brazingly claimed were co-written by the girls. None of them made the album. Maybe they're just not that good at it. It's fine though, they don't have to be because they're well looked after musically. They always have been.
As someone who got into Kpop through SNSD years ago, this has been coming for quite some time. They mismanaged the hell out of 2NE1 and it never sat right with me how they had such an eye for talent but almost zero desire to promote them. I can't imagine being locked into a contract with them and watching all of my peers working and promoting while I'm sitting there watching, it must have felt horrible.
And is soooo annoying because even not promoting their artist, they are so famous because they do have that start quality needed for the business. Can you imagine if they promoted them well? Is honestly horrible, and even though I feel bad for their artist, I'm happy YG is having issues right now. This might be a wake up call for them.
not only does YG need to completely change its style of management, but they also need new producers, art directors, choreographers, basically the whole team to bring in some fresh sounds, concepts and identities to their groups. they can't just keep recycling old music and mvs and think the fans will continue to eat it up when you have groups like NewJeans, IVE, Le sserafim and so many more who are bringing such great sounds to the table and creating their unique identity in the global scale. Babymonster's debut flopping hard was just proof that kpop fans are TIRED of YG doing the same thing over and over! EDIT: guys im not dragging babymonster i'm sorry if my comment came across as that. i really love their vocals and know that they can do so much better if only yg steps up their game. i'm only critisizing the comp cuz it's only their fault that babymon got what they dont deserve at all!
Thats why the BTS Kingdom HYBE is really refreshing to see. It’s even more impressive when you realise Le sserafim and NewJeans are both under the HYBE umbrella. YG also has a frustrating management style that just makes them fish in a barrel to companies like SM and HYBE.
you are right. nothing from Babymonster's debut, their music, MV, styling, choreo or even promotions were unique or new to YG. everything was just a recycled or reused YG product. Treasure and AKMU who are another active groups under YG have something unique to themselves because they participate in production process. But for a rookie like a Babymonster it is just so sad.
So 171mil views on their MV in a month, 39mil listens on Spotify along with 4.5mil monthly listeners is a flop for a debut group? Gtfoh xD. The hate for YG management I get, but let's not act like babymonster's debut song isn't doing numbers. They even topped Aespa with 23mil views in 24hrs, more than every 4th gen gg which is funny considering that they are a 5th gen group.
@@N7Bluerose all those numbers are because of strong fandom they built with their predebut survival show. Debut should showcase members talents charm musical identity of the group. With Batter UP you can not tell what they want to do with Babymonster's future music releases. Their song sounds like Blackpink reject. For other groups IVE, NewJeans, Le Sserafim or aespa we knew their identity and musical direction of group with their debut even though they didn't do the number like Babymonster. Their debut song didn't put them on map of 4/5th gen girl group competition.
@@RaijinKaze I am not really big fan of BTS but I do admit that their CEO knew what to do with the money he made. HYBE is litery dominating 4th gen. Charts, awards are swept by either HYBE or SM these days. I am really interested to see how his US expansion goes.
YGE is horrible at managing artists and limited their artists so much! Just look at blackpink, as soon as it was announced that their solo contracts weren’t renewed Lisa released her first song cover on her channel, Jisoo was a guest on a talk show, Jennie has had multiple shoots with Hera and Chanel and even performed you&me and covered ‘Miss Korea’ on KBS! Waiting for Rosé but clearly the girls can now control what they do and good for them!
From the very beginning, Blackpink had so much potential of being super big, even bigger than they are right now. Throughout their careers, Blackpink had very few comebacks and took them 4 years to release their first full album. They rarely appeared on music, reality and award shows because YG doesn't get along with Korean networks so they promoted them way more overseas and turned them into western artists. Blackpink is probably the most westernized K-pop group they were made to target the west. I wish they had more comebacks during their early years especially in 2016 to 2018
YG Investor who said that "2ne1 ugly "but do you know Yang Hyun suk still want 2ne1 continued but other conglomerate who invested not agree with YG so what can ceo do if money talk first , i think you must read tht news until finish , i m not on side of YG i just clarifying that fact ☺️
And another fact news about G-dragon drugs use scandalous, YG entertainment just responded with " It is difficult to publicly respond as the artist is currently not signed with the label.", you know who said that is not Yang Hyun Suk again but that fucking agency doing his own not with yang hyunsuk approval, when he's heard that statement he's really mad at that agency to give statement like that ,and you know where is he ? He's still busy doing his cases on court so he's not know about that news , yang hyun suk even said he's considered Gdragon like his own son , even he said " Bigbang Was the one who created YG", i think GD really disappointed with YG who was supposed to protect him but instead that agency response with that statement
I worked for the largest chaebol in Korea and did account marketing for their handset group for just a couple of their American customers.....and we had more sales than the Kpop industry combined. I mentioned a while back 2018 when all these TH-cam channels were comparing the top 3+ Hybe. I thought the best in position was probably SM because they were spreading their revenue models across several groups and were continuing to release new groups, like Aespa while maintaining legacy groups like Super Junior and SNSD. I also thought Hybe was the worst positioned because they relied only on one group at the time and if they every got into a massive accident, Hybe would be over as a company (I think they were still Big Hit back then), but YG was not far behind, as they did not support their legacy groups like 2NE1 who disbanded the year before and Big Bang, and were not doing BP justice and were not supporting their current acts like Winner and IKon with quality releases. Looks like Hybe DID follow the SM route, not by just nurturing new groups, but taking the revenue they earned from BTS and diversifying through buyouts. Focusing too much on one or two key assets is not how market leaders should run a business. Even my market leader, Apple, knew that in 2018 as they expanded into services, not just handset sales. YG was not only badly managed, but they did not learn. They were one mistake away from trouble.
All valid points. To have long lasting success, you gotta have good management; and that includes treating their artists and other employees right. YG had such poor management, people from the inside started talking in a bad light. Not a good look.
YGE is basically just an extension of Yang Hyun Suk's ego and always has been. A lot of naive people were confused when Yang Hyun Suk stepped back into the shadows in 2019 and thereabouts due to the scandals. They don't know the difference between a superficial public relations move and substantive control structures. There has been no point in time when YHS ever ceased being the top boss at YGE. He is surrounded by yes-men and yes-women. The CEOs (his younger brother YMS and his long-term assistant Hwang) are picked by him and elevated by him and essentially function as his employees. To some extent, each of the big three has had a lot of this one-man operation as a key element. It was like that at JYP until insolvency forced a restructuring that reduced Park Jin-Young's centrality to some extent. Each company is to some extent an extension of each founder's ego and personality and management style. YGE is probably the most extreme case. It is most likely Yang Hyun Suk's unwillingness to surrender any significant amount of control over every significant project, activity and decision of the artists under his company that made it inevitable that the BP members really had no choice but to go independent as individuals in order to avoid the very high risk of being outrageously neglected and restricted during this extremely valuable phase of their careers.
I love sm but sometime they missed opportunity in business theres huge demand on exo and red velvet but they keep pushing on nct and superm thats why they lost on with hybe and yg group 😢😭
I dont know why everyone is hating on "Butter up" its an awesome song the dance is powerfull and strong the rap is fast and has flow the lyrics are addicting and the music video and fashion is just awesome honestly a great song I dont know why everyone is hating on it
For anyone wondering, Park Bom didn’t smuggle dr*gs- she was taking prescription ADHD meds (which were not legal in Korea but legal in America) and YG did nothing to defend her. Instead they kicked her out of her group 2NE1 and disbanded the group😢😢😢 And por T.O.P. Of BIG BANG smoked weed and Korean fans turned on him. Korea doesn’t have a good opinion on mental health issues, so no one in Korea seemed to care why these idols were quite “using substances’.
Well, to be fair, YG did make an effort to defend Bom. Probably not enough, but they did try. The reason that you know the true story about how it was just a prescription that she got from a doctor in the U.S. that her grandmother mailed to her...is because YG put that information out in a press release. At the time, there was a reporter who hated YG for some reason who continued to repeat the story, constantly portraying Bom as some kind of horrible criminal who only escaped prison time due to YG's influence. The reporter constantly hammering at YG and Bom with the "drug smu g gling" story was enough to also create a rallying point for all of the haters from various rival fandoms, who did everything they could to turn the story into a cancellation campaign against Bom and 2NE1. Those haters are mostly gone away now because...well...mission accomplished. But at the time, Bom could not do anything without them swarming social media with hate comments and claiming that she should be in jail. When she did the Christmas duet with Lee Hi at the end of 2013, more than half the comments under the video were hate comments against Bom.
2NE1 was really over and finished before the end of 2014. Minzy formally left in early 2016 (most likely because she was p*ssed about no activity and about never getting a solo project). Bom found out that she was formally out when YG announced that her contract had not been renewed. It had almost nothing to do with Blackpink (who were also given low priority and mostly neglected by YG after they debuted in 2016). YG's priorities were his new boy groups, his own career on reality TV shows like Mix9. No lowly girl group was ever a priority. All the females at YG were treated like support staff. In their final years, 2NE1's main public appearances were to show up during the pre-debut shows (like "W.I.N.") for the new boy groups to help get attention for the boys. Side note: The trainees who became Winner, Ikon and Treasure were promoted with pre-debut TV shows that total more than a year of weekly shows, promoted with appearances and collabs with top artists. Blackpink got zero pre-debut promotions. Nobody even knew who Lisa and Rose were until they debuted with the group.
My personal theory is that GD had a huge hand in driving the creative direction of the groups. YG's old school rigid Korean management style and Teddy's repetitive songs and corny lyrics are failing to keep the company fresh and staying afloat.
Ofc the whole "YG STYLE" was never YG style, it was GDRAGON style, they've trained their trainees to act and be like g-dragon yg without gdragon and teddy would never be as big as they were in their prime also, teddy only produced blackpink songs, but he CAN do different genres and lyrics, he was writing songs for 2ne1 that were very meaningful, he was also participating in writing songs for bigbang, together with gdragon, top it was propably YG that was scared to try new things with BLACKPINK, teddy just did songs that YG wanted him to do for blackpink, thats why you see babymonster going the same route as blackpink even without teddy, it's not about producers, YG is just scared that his girl group won't work with different concept YG himself said long time ago that he doesn't know how to create as good girl groups as SM, JYP
teddy doesn't produce for any yg group except blackpink so directing the criticism towards him makes no sense. he only gets discredited because he's produced worldwide hits for bp because kpop stans HATE bp. like try not to make it so obvious you know nothing about the company and just want to spout the same shit that has been said for years
I know that there's a lot to throw shade at them for, but one little thing that annoys me is how their management is indirectly the reason why we've never seen a televised interaction/reunion between Cho Miyeon and the BP girls. Just the fact that YG decided to be too good for Korean music shows.
YG put themselves into this situation. If only they actually cared about their artists, but no. I'm tired of them doing the same thing over and over again. It's sad how a big company like YG doesn't give a damn about anything, cause they think they are right with everything. They deserve their downfall after what they did. They ruined everything. As much as I love YG groups, i just hate the company.
The marketing strategy is very very western, and it should ONLY be applied to solo artists. Every big artist in America, is solo. There hasn’t been a group in decades, so for them to try and follow a strategy like that is wild. I know yg tends to cater to international fans outside of Korea, but like these groups they produce also need more comebacks than once a year. And then like 6 songs is crazy
Also, that strategy works in the west because whenever an artist comes back after a while, they usually release a full album(with like 13 songs at a minimum) and release multiple singles from it. The Kpop industry doesn't work like that. Also, labels in the west tend to be general-type labels that sign a bunch of artists, so if one artist isn't releasing anything at the moment there's no drought on their end.
however, this strategy worked with Blackpink. If they had done a lot more comebacks would they be even bigger now? Maybe yes, but the fact is that they are now the biggest girl group of all and their popularity is enormous. The mistake in my opinion was thinking that this strategy worked with all other artists because Blackpink are a rare exception, not the rule.
Western marketing strategy is hard to execute in the kpop industry particularly because of how competitive it is. New groups and songs are debuted left and right it's hard to keep track. And if a group is regularly producing songs and comebacks, other groups may be forgotten if they haven't released a song in a long while
Not only soloists but established ones at that. Beyoncé and Adele can afford to go MIA for 2 years and suddenly drop the best Album of the year. Babymonster can absolutely not do that, there’s no reason to stick around and wait for them.
Facts , YG want money and does not give freedom to artist , its clear , 2ne1 said same years ago and now BP . Look right after leaving they are bombarding with activities right away
YG entertainment pays his artists more money and they are giving freedom like blackpink blackpink is now happy because they are enjoying their life and blackpink did not leave YG entertainment they renew their contact with YG again and now times have changed don't go when 2ne1 was like in 2013 and said things like this times have changed and people have changed
I feel bad for the artists, trainees, and the people who work directly with the artists because you can tell that they’re ALL frustrated. And the 2NE1 members have expressed the flaws of that particular system soooooooooo much. It’s a shame they refuse to change but in doing so, they are sealing their own fate. The company will survive simply because it is YGE. However, it will not thrive.
If I was a member of Baby Monster, imagine dreaming on debuting on the same company as your idols from BlackPink and other groups and seening how now YG is nothing on the market, they have even less artist than NCT has members. I would feel bad for Baby Monster all that hardwork gets under close doors, now a lot of companies have successful and famous groups around the world.
why do you exaggerate? they debuted in a large agency, they have just started and are producing important numbers. You're already making hasty judgments. It's true that Yg is in decline, especially after the news of Blackpink's non-renewal as soloists, but it still remains a huge agency and it's lucky for the girls to be in it.
@@antoniodirocca6202 YG is lucky to have them but they didn’t hit the jackpot by being in YG. The company isn’t gonna change anytime soon so they’ll just head in the same direction as all their other artist.

You have to do more than just clean the management out you have to get a rid of everybody including the EXCEO Yang, All of his cronies have to go everybody all new people that’s the only reason why YG is being destroyed the bad reputation that Yang has done to this company and the way that he talks and behaves towards his idols is absolutely disgusting! He is still a major shareholder in YG entertainment and he’s pulling the strings, why do you think he was in control of The process of making this new girls group” BABY MONSTER “! It doesn’t take a business degree to know that being/staying stagnant in any industry is a recipe for disaster, failure, and unnecessary struggle for artists trapped under their poor management. Sucks to suck
They deserved this downfall after what they did to GD. They even filed a case to use G dragon trademark. They should be ashamed. GD and BB along made YG. YG said that himself. They made YG into the big 3. I am glad that Blackpink members also left YG for solo activities since YG owns the trademark Blackpink, and they can't leave with their group name. YG destroyed all of their legendary groups.
YG is like a parent who thinks they know everything and doesn’t realize how valuable their children are until they grow up and are left alone. 😪 Sheltering your children (aka Artist) will just make them more rebellious 😂
@@mannphewluangdee1466 I agree, SM, JYP, HYPE, & Newer Entertainments are giving their artist good music while YG just give their artists trash, i feel so bad for YG groups.
We may take different meanings from the word "sheltering"- for me it means giving them a refuge, somewhere they can take "shelter' when they need it. It's more a case of parents who imprison their children, don't let them do things the parents don't like - as you said - and this usually means their children will flee the home when they have a chance. With the first, the children know they have that shelter if they need it, and so will come and go, because they were nurtured, not neutered.
Yg makes legendary groups and fails to manage them ...As a yg stan i feel so bad . BLACKPINK did the right thing by not signing solo contracts atleast they can grow individualy ...But worried about babymonster 😢 there is no such group with such talents ...
I was so shocked that they didn't allow babymonster promote in music shows like bfr they are extremely talented but yg doesn't allow there talent to shine. If not for the survival show we wouldn't even know the girl's potential. Also having a solid korean fan base is very important and its high time yg realise it. I feel bad for the babymonster members the are so talented and yg is wasting their potential.
YG allows that babymonster talent to shine and YG is not wasting them YG is helping them to get more popular like MV comeback interviews everything he is trying the best he can and the members in babymonster seems to be happy
It appears that YG executives and managers believed that they could mistreat their artists, and the artists would stay with them. YG trained the artists while they are young, so YG expected unlimited loyalty from the artists, despite YG's mistreatment.
the fact bom was dragged through hell and back for taking ADHD medication PRESCRIBED to her in the U.S. is insane to me. I get they are banned in South Korea, but she didn't deserve the backlash she got for something she was prescribed in the U.S.
even if they don’t change the tactics of the company just by releasing more music, and changing their idol’s management, and letting them to write their own music , participation in music shows they will definitely stand up again they kept their style and doing MV s in best way then everything will be fine and even this leading them to release new types of music
YG has 1 group in the whole 4th generation and they expect us to support them 🙄 . "You get what you give" but YG didn't give anything and wants others to give them support
I am disappointed that you mentioned Bom's false accusation of drug smuggling. As you should know all charges were dropped when it was discovered she had received a shipment of prescribed medicine from a USA doctor. However, the false slanders caused Bom great pain leading to health problems and affected the rest of the group. Shame on you.
Good thing their artists are talented enough that they get to save their careers but also sad bec. there are other artists whose careers were ruined or almost ruined bec. of YG's negligence. It's like every time there's a scandal about their artist true or not they be like "F*** it, I'm out. You're on your own."
YG is not wasting them YG is helping them to get more popular and giving them comebacks MV their house like blackpink house freedom interviews YG is helping like when he was helping blackpink then
I’ve always felt as if YG really couldn’t hang with the best of them, so they had to try other sneaky tactics to stay on top. YG suffers from the same thing JYP does. An unwillingness to change and experiment in slightly different ways. JYP is just too old school and not willingly to adjust with the times and YG is scared to fail. So what do they do? Continuously release the same songs over and over and over again. Just putting big gaps in between and playing as if they our too exclusive too be advertising on Korean TV. I’ve been around since BIG BANG was the leading group and even then same song same format. 2NE1 same songs same format. It is so blatant with Blackpink it’s sad! Every song after D4 has been almost identical. People are waking up and getting tired. He thought it was actually going to work the same for Baby Monster and looked what happened? YG’s arrogance is his own downfall
JUP sounds to be in a better position and actually more adoptable compared to the other 2! They already have the most successful 4th gen boy group and great girl groups but kinda didn’t handle them gg very well!!
YG is crap. They forget as much as they have successfully groomed and launched a few big artistes and groups, these artistes and groups have also successfully put YG at the top through their own talent, hard work and hard earned popularity. Instead, YG just got more and more arrogant, especially after they saw the success of Blackpink. They think all their artistes are dispensable and there is no need to care too much about them because they can easily produce another big group with just a click of their fingers. That's what they think. It looks like Baby Monster will eventually face the same treatment under this shit company too.
TBH, YG did not even expect Blackpink to become so successful. YG invested easily 10 times more effort, money and time in launching the new boy groups. The boy groups, even as trainees, got a years worth (combined) of weekly pre-debut promotional TV shows, such as W.I.N., Mix & Match and the pre-debut "survival" show for the Treasure trainees. Blackpink got ZERO pre-debut promotions and nobody even knew who Lisa and Rose were until they debuted with the group. D umb people try to blame 2NE1's situation on Blackpink, but there was virtually no connection. 2NE1 had their own problems and had no group activities at all after 2014. And everyone knows that Blackpink was a low priority at YG when they debuted and got very little attention from YG for the first two years of their existence. YG's top priority at the time was always the boy groups and Yang Hyun Suk's own reality TV shows, like Mix9. The boy groups only achieved average results for Kpop groups from the top companies and the reality TV shows flopped. Blackpink most likely shocked and surprised YGE's management when they became the most popular group in YG's history and Blackpink became the company's lifeboat following the Burning Sun and other scandals. Although YG finally started giving them decent support after 2018 and gets credit for putting them together as a group, much of the credit for their huge popularity is due to the personalities, character and talents of the BP members and their ability to create great chemistry as a group.
i have no idea how yg is falling down when they could've just be still in big 3 or whatever they had everything like more than any other companies and they still like failed
Could you make a video on JYPE's 3rd generation Chinese boy group BOYSTORY as they are not well known by many and I'd like them to receive some recognition. I'd also like it if you discussed they're ages when they initially debuted since such young ages would shock many. I'd appreciate it if you checked them out😊 (Edit: please don't get annoyed with me for this)
I swear to God this time if YG pulls the same stunt with 2NE1 on Blankpink, then Blinks won't be silent. Many groups from YG get mismanaged and it gets swept under the rug but I'm pretty sure if they do the same stunt again, then people will definitely get mad.
Honestly my thing is you don't give these artist good promotions. Especially like at least let them dance on Studio Choom if he just wants to act like a kid with M-net.
Sounds like the only changes that need to be made are to HYBE's top brass. Not sure what Korean laws are, but appears to be many violations of labor laws. Harassment, retaliation, overtime, discrimination, child labor. In interviews we've eve heard them talk about cock roaches in their dorms and ridiculous pay. So many potential lawsuits. Why hasn't HYBEs management been fired I'm really disgusted they're trying to destroy the future of kids that aren't even of legal age yet. Korea can do much better. Time for some changes to the laws to protect your citizens.
YG is the best company when it comes to releases but they should definitely change the company’s working process and no doubt the YG SOUND is great however they should come with different sounds too.❤ So at the end they should work on something different and good with there style to continue being on TOP 3….🤧
I agree imo the most fresh sounding Blackpink's songs are the ones that has new names on the credit list Another example is Treasure's title tracks are heavy on YG style and compare it with the members' self composed songs that sounds fresher
If you take out all the scandals, just the way they’re managing things is horrible. The situation with GD proved all we needed to know about the company and its priorities. YG is on the verge of collapse, so maybe we should just start saying big 3 and not mean YG.
I can see that YG entertainment have not always made good choices - but can't agree with a lot of this video. Blackpink have released something every year between 2016 and 2023. Maybe only a single album or live album. Live albums don't have producers, but apart from those, every Blackpink album except one (Japan one) has had multiple producers - each single album between 2 to 5 producers. Full albums or EP's have between 5 and 9 producers. Blackpink are, I believe, the most popular/successful female kpop group at the moment. I think they have more subscribers on TH-cam than BTS. BIGBANG only released new music every few years because they were heavily involved in the writing of lyrics and music and in production. They also from the beginning took time between their group releases and tours, to release their own solo music (again being involved in much of the writing and production) and solo tours. It takes a lot of time effort and money to prepare, release, publicise and market an album. I think following the Winner, Ikon debuts, the company may have been overstretched financially and resource wise and arguably, did not support and promote these groups as fully as their undeniable talent deserved. iKON also got hit by the Bi "scandal" - which if you look into it was quite a minor thing. I think YG artists get "shocking" publicity from "scandals" because unlike companies like Hybe, it seems that they tend to wait for the scandal to blow over rather than being pro-active. We all know that scandal makes profit and so imo it was like painting a target on their artists back, because the media/youtube account holders/commentors knew that could say/exaggerate/imply/make up as much as they wanted with no comeback. I think after G Dragon's legal team and Galaxy letting it be known that they would not tolerate this, GD will face less of the inaccurate/false or exaggerated claims he has received in the past and less of the unfair character assassination he has gone through. Hybe did make some really smart moves imo. They focused their efforts for a long time just on BTS. A turning point was when they teamed up with the american distribution company to promote BTS - particularly in the USA. The part 1 of BTS world tour was to reasonable size audiences, but after joining hands with the USA conpany, the second phase of the tour was to stadium size audiences. They have always had BTS backs as well and threatened legal action for negative rumours etc. and to my eyes, although these things still crop up, they remain contained.
@@anastasiaekimova5101 just correcting some comments in the video that are not accurate. Imo songs performed live often havecdifferent arrangements, are switched up a bit and often have a noticably different feel and sound about them to the studio version. Personally I like live albums - not that I own any Blackpink albums at all - so am just making assumptions about them based on other live albums released by YG. Even without the live albums I think something has been released every year from Blackpink, except 2021 when there was covid - although I believe a live album was released. I'm not promoting any companies - just making a comment. I'm not saying YG has no faults - just that the video has some inaccuracies and lots of opinion based comments. To address the imbalance - another positive thing that I have heard about YG is that they give their artists a higher % of the profits from their activities than other agencies do. Blackpink did re-sign with YG as a group - so they can't find it too bad a company to be with. After 10 years, Jenny probably saw more opportunity and independence to make money by starting her own company for solo work and knew her fame was at a level where it was potentially very viable. Same with Jisoo joining with her brother for solo work. YG are also have ither income streams e.g. music dustributors - not only for themselves, but also for other companies - I don't think any if the other 3 in the top 4 do this. They also have shares in other companies and have income streams through promotions and advertising and actors. I really don't like when people do videos hating on things based quite a bit on gossip and supposition without making it really clear that it is opinion rather than fact.
Western artists are more like contract workers. They write the music or pick their writers. They hire the producers they want to work with. Kpop artists are more like employees who have input, but whose music is run by the company (the old Western music system). Western music also works based on LPs, not EPs. YG isn't really following a Western model. It's just incompetent.
well they were just at advantage for being in such big company and being junior of BP ..their comeback was highly anticipated .... Tbh if YG wasn't a popular company then their debut would have been a big flop
YG is sooo bad handling rumors like in most cases they don't even respond to any of the allegations .Like the V and Jennie dating rumors , this one rumor was like circulating the entire year .When they could've made the situation a bit easier just by responding .Honestly they're downfall was deserved.
They even caused that rumour to start in the first place. 'All publicity is good publicity be it good or bad' they just want people talking about them as it brings attention to BP being associated with BTS. It's a very low brow move but that's yg for ya.
5:38 to clarify, Park Bom had a legitimate prescription and didn’t know it was banned. She was careless, I’ll admit, but to call it drug smuggling is a bit biased reporting. She was put through the ring and lost so much support. I also unrelated but kinda: I still stan BI ❤
seriously, the whole concept about their artist being mysterious and exclusive doesn't work anymore, it works because 2ne1 & BigBang have a gigantic charisma they try to do the same with Winner, Treasure, iKon, and recently BM and it completely backfired looks how much BP growth after they start to promote them as a friendly and chic group, making more appearance in variety and interview
yes, to make this strategy work you have to have really charismatic artists that audiences fall in love with instantly. It worked with Blackpink and Bigbang but it can't work with every group in a world like kpop which is hyperproductive and debuts new groups every month.
@@antoniodirocca6202 they still doesn't understand.. like BM is 1 month rookie and they doesn't have any variety content beside performance and behind the scene video

A krama for disbanding his first girl group just to marry the member he knows since she was a minor, a karma for saying 2ne1 are ugly, also a karma for debuting criminals men.
To be honest, I knew YG was over when they did 2NE1 dirty like that. Those girls really made K-pop popular. I'm serious, lollipop was the song that got so many into K-pop and when it was all said and done they disbanded. I remember at the time thinking they were supposed to have a comeback, instead it was a farewell show. TEARS Then after the Burning Sun Scandal, I knew it was over for Big Bang. Honestly, Seungri being dropped was one thing, but they didn't help or protect T.O.P during his marijuana scandal. He almost died and I remember the headline, because I cried and prayed that he would live when he was at the hospital. If you're new to kpop, nothing will prepare you for your ultimate favorite to almost die or worse. TBH, 2017 was the worst year of kpop. SHINee lost Jonghyun and the world lost Big Bang. After 2017, I remember taking a break from kpop for nearly 3 years, because I was scared that liking a group or a member would mean literal death. And even though T.O.P lived and 2NE1 are doing alright. I can never stan YG again. I'm not going to put myself through that again. Then Blackpink came out( to be honest, I'm hardly a fan, BECAUSE they were with YG. My niece [who I got into kpop loves them] is a fan, but all I could do was pray they didn't turn out like my faves) To be honest, I'm older, kpop for me was whoever came out in the year 2009-2015. I follow certain people and I don't focus on the new guys. Trust and believe even in the early 2010's fans were waiting for the fall of the big 3, because if you look at all of them. They never did enough for their artists. Because these companies only wanted to keep up with the latest trends. Not many people know how hard a 2NE1, SNSD, MissA, Gummy, SHINee, MBLAQ, Big Bang, TVXQ!, or EXO album slapped unless you were there. I am still salty over Mblaq. I remember Lee Joon was one of the first to speak on declining health and people clowned him for it. Now it is everywhere and there's nothing to do but watch hellfire rain down.
Well actually that making their idols sound exclusive by keeping them out of touch worked for their 3rd generation idols. Despite of having not that much songs and having repetitive songs they still were successful even in their early years with only 3 or 4 songs! And their fandom kept believing YG cares about quality of the songs even if they don’t release that much. But now with the rise of HYBE as the greatest opponent things have changed. Now some freshly debutants acting cool and savage won’t work for the audience it’s a repetitive content! And recycling music sounds lazy compared to other groups. Even SM is not in a good condition because of awful management. Now the industry and it’s successes is no more exclusive to the big 3. HYBE is a conglomerate not a company with one concept, since it’s a mother company to many different companies with different concept it has more variety in content and songs and can debut more groups. That itself gives the other companies with their exclusive concept a hard time. Maybe it’s not their fault at the end it’s just business. They had a tactic, once it worked but a new era and changes always comes that effects the whole industry. Still it’s not their downfall they already knew their idols even G-Dragon will leave one day, it was not a never ending contract anyway!!
And i personally believe not debuting ahyeon has a reason of her saying the n word so will not get, and when she came back they're giving her totally soloist treatment i mean they didn't put her in the group photo in teaser but showed her separately , everyone know she is back and the ot7 logo was there so it wasn't for suspense really ahyeon has got lip and nose job makeup and health issues won't change your whole face, the teaser was looking like 6 backup dancers and 1 soloist, yg better not treat anyone as soloist
I’m a YG stan since big bang till now. But I do have a feeling that it is YG’s downfall for some reason. I have been listening to HYBE’s artist musics and I’m digging it. It is not like Im cheating on YG. YG needs to stop with BS. Just release good music like always
I agree with whatever that's said in the video but i also hope that they so change their way of planning things cause change is good And the way yg songs were back then no other company can do it like that till date
I can't forget yg for destroying my favorite groups:big bang,2ne1,ikon😢 I just wish it completely destroyed because not long ago yg was trying to go after gdragon 😢

When I watched your video about Gdragon and how YG ended up screwing him over, especially after how long he was with them, I can longer support this company. Good Lord they could care less about their artists and only covering their own asses. Talk about corporate greed! Wouldn’t be surprised if the stock prices fall so low and Hybe ends up buying them out.
It's going to be Big 3 again (HYBE, JYP, SM) if YG does not fix their problems soon. Goodluck to YG because the way I see it, their downfall is not slowing down. Their problems keeps piling up.

With the release of baby monster song i realized that YG might be in big trouble. They could only just scratch from the little bit if what blackpink music had which might be sources by teddy, and now that teddy gone they could only put those snip he left together to make a song. If you remember properly YG song is really based on either teddy or GD, now that they're gone, YG need to work hard to find the new producers with the same sense or completely make a new and different sound. Blackpink members is a smart girls, they truly learned from what happened to their predecessor and not making the same mistake of being manipulated to the very end.

tbh it’s looking like the big 3 right now is Hybe, sm and jyp.

2NE1 Shouldn't have not disbanded, what if their disbandment was YG FREAKING PLAN!?

For other groups IVE, NewJeans, Le Sserafim or aespa we knew their identity and musical direction of group with their debut even though they didn't do the number like Babymonster. Their debut song didn't put them on map of 4/5th gen girl group competition.

Ofc
the whole "YG STYLE" was never YG style, it was GDRAGON style, they've trained their trainees to act and be like g-dragon
yg without gdragon and teddy would never be as big as they were in their prime
also, teddy only produced blackpink songs, but he CAN do different genres and lyrics, he was writing songs for 2ne1 that were very meaningful, he was also participating in writing songs for bigbang, together with gdragon, top
it was propably YG that was scared to try new things with BLACKPINK, teddy just did songs that YG wanted him to do for blackpink, thats why you see babymonster going the same route as blackpink even without teddy, it's not about producers, YG is just scared that his girl group won't work with different concept
YG himself said long time ago that he doesn't know how to create as good girl groups as SM, JYP
teddy doesn't produce for any yg group except blackpink so directing the criticism towards him makes no sense. he only gets discredited because he's produced worldwide hits for bp because kpop stans HATE bp. like try not to make it so obvious you know nothing about the company and just want to spout the same shit that has been said for years
I know that there's a lot to throw shade at them for, but one little thing that annoys me is how their management is indirectly the reason why we've never seen a televised interaction/reunion between Cho Miyeon and the BP girls. Just the fact that YG decided to be too good for Korean music shows.
But they allow treasure to meet with old trainees and interact 🤷🏻♀️
YG put themselves into this situation. If only they actually cared about their artists, but no. I'm tired of them doing the same thing over and over again. It's sad how a big company like YG doesn't give a damn about anything, cause they think they are right with everything. They deserve their downfall after what they did. They ruined everything. As much as I love YG groups, i just hate the company.
I feel so bad for the artists and trainees after watching this
The marketing strategy is very very western, and it should ONLY be applied to solo artists.
YGE was big on isolating their artists from almost everything until they became alienated. Now, the company can't keep up.
I just discovered IKON December 2023, their music is awesome but when I found out that they WERE at yg very heartbroken about it
Pretty sure all members of IKON left YG and are still a group but not with yg
@@antoniodirocca6202
YG is lucky to have them but they didn’t hit the jackpot by being in YG. The company isn’t gonna change anytime soon so they’ll just head in the same direction as all their other artist.
The lack of yg not working with new ppl and lack of creativity is going to be their downfall.
They have to get rid of the Ex- CEO Yang Hyun Suk! Yes , Forbes magazine no longer considers YG entertainment as part is the big three in the K-pop industry because of their depleting stocks and how they were removed from the major stock exchange because of plummeting stocks!
A house divided cannot stand there are too many people who are working against each other in YG entertainment and then you have Yang Hyun Suk controlling everything from inside and behind pulling the strings and telling people what to do he is the bad seed!!!! 20 K-pop idols& Actors since 2013 have left YG!
For 2024 who is going to help YG who is left that is really going to pull in the money to help support YG entertainment!? BLACKPINK?. Baby monster?, Treasure?, AKMU?
Only real Artist are BLACKPINK, Treasure! The other artist even the new baby monster they’re not quite legendary status and pulling the big money! YG is dying they are no longer a top billing K-pop industry! The truth hurts!

Sheltering your children (aka Artist) will just make them more rebellious 😂
that why they let their artists to go on their perspective way, not keeping them at bay?

@@eileencritchley4630 Oh oops😅

Facts!!!
So true
I have no sympathy for YG. They treat their artists like garbage. No comebacks for a long period of time.
even if they don’t change the tactics of the company just by releasing more music, and changing their idol’s management, and letting them to write their own music , participation in music shows they will definitely stand up again they kept their style and doing MV s in best way then everything will be fine and even this leading them to release new types of music
It really feels like yg will no longer be in big4 and cube or kq will replace them
It's not about the popularity its about the History and it's big3 not big4
YG has 1 group in the whole 4th generation and they expect us to support them 🙄 . "You get what you give" but YG didn't give anything and wants others to give them support
😂😂😂😂😂
That's what happens when you think that your artists are too good for anything.
Its YG's incapability to handle minor issues and defend their artists that is awful.
I'm feeling sad for Baby Monster 😢 they're really really talented but yg 's wasting that
YG is not wasting them YG is helping them to get more popular and giving them comebacks MV their house like blackpink house freedom interviews YG is helping like when he was helping blackpink then
I’ve always felt as if YG really couldn’t hang with the best of them, so they had to try other sneaky tactics to stay on top.
I'd appreciate it if you checked them out😊
(Edit: please don't get annoyed with me for this)
I swear to God this time if YG pulls the same stunt with 2NE1 on Blankpink, then Blinks won't be silent. Many groups from YG get mismanaged and it gets swept under the rug but I'm pretty sure if they do the same stunt again, then people will definitely get mad.
2NE1 karma hits YG now. His mismanagement of 2NE1 was the beginning of the end.
Honestly my thing is you don't give these artist good promotions. Especially like at least let them dance on Studio Choom if he just wants to act like a kid with M-net.
And I can see them blaming Teddy for the reason this is happening. If Teddy didnt do what he had done, most of your hits wouldn't have happened.
Exactly 😂
I agree imo the most fresh sounding Blackpink's songs are the ones that has new names on the credit list
Another example is Treasure's title tracks are heavy on YG style and compare it with the members' self composed songs that sounds fresher
They have always had BTS backs as well and threatened legal action for negative rumours etc. and to my eyes, although these things still crop up, they remain contained.
stop shilling companies? live albums are just same songs sold to you again
One tragic downfall video was made in 2019 after the burning sun, they survived coz of BP.
Who will be their savior this time?
Western artists are more like contract workers. They write the music or pick their writers. They hire the producers they want to work with. Kpop artists are more like employees who have input, but whose music is run by the company (the old Western music system). Western music also works based on LPs, not EPs. YG isn't really following a Western model. It's just incompetent.
“rare” my ass. there are so many talented groups these days. delaying to top those debuting groups is trash. bbm’s debut still flopped

Yes basically they just want lamlight by the name of BTS 😂

Ok who are the "criminal men" you speak of? I can only think of one. But multiple men??? Men as in plural? More than one??
To be honest, I knew YG was over when they did 2NE1 dirty like that. Those girls really made K-pop popular. I'm serious, lollipop was the song that got so many into K-pop and when it was all said and done they disbanded. I remember at the time thinking they were supposed to have a comeback, instead it was a farewell show. TEARS
Then after the Burning Sun Scandal, I knew it was over for Big Bang.
My niece [who I got into kpop loves them] is a fan, but all I could do was pray they didn't turn out like my faves)
To be honest, I'm older, kpop for me was whoever came out in the year 2009-2015.
Can we also talk about how he ruined treasure by giving a 1yr hiatus before debut and mismanagement..
It’s poor management; they fail to keep up with the industry.
I hope it doesn’t affect treasure
YG is already Dommed when little by little its YG original artist left the company.
I’m a YG stan since big bang till now. But I do have a feeling that it is YG’s downfall for some reason.
I have been listening to HYBE’s artist musics and I’m digging it. It is not like Im cheating on YG. YG needs to stop with BS. Just release good music like always
Hybe is seriously doing good as a company 👏
Yg stan lmao you stan artists or company lol. Yg is the most problematic kpop company. How can you stan them!
me too!
YG's idol-💯💯💯💯
YG's management-🕳🕳🕳🕳
YG really doing well.i wish YG future so bright 🌞😎❤.
I agree with whatever that's said in the video but i also hope that they so change their way of planning things cause change is good
And the way yg songs were back then no other company can do it like that till date
Why i feel like HYBE will be in the big 3 in a few years insted of yg....
Me too hybe's management is far better than yg and sm they promote their idols better than any other big 3companies
Dude the Big 3 isn't about the popularity its about the History it will always be JYP SM YG as big 3's no one can change it no matter what
I can't forget yg for destroying my favorite groups:big bang,2ne1,ikon😢
I just wish it completely destroyed because not long ago yg was trying to go after gdragon 😢
It looks like they are back in the game
I was a big yg stan, but my favs are no longer with them so I don’t even care about them anymore
YG you need AHYEON, please put her back to BABYMONS7ER 🙏🏽
She already escaped. Let her be free
They already announced she's sick. Let her rest.
She probably have health issue for real, either physical or mental problem. But I think she is still in the group since she is probably wanting to debut as Babymonster member the most.
They don't need her
When I watched your video about Gdragon and how YG ended up screwing him over, especially after how long he was with them, I can longer support this company. Good Lord they could care less about their artists and only covering their own asses. Talk about corporate greed!
Wouldn’t be surprised if the stock prices fall so low and Hybe ends up buying them out.
😂 I agree
It's going to be Big 3 again (HYBE, JYP, SM) if YG does not fix their problems soon. Goodluck to YG because the way I see it, their downfall is not slowing down. Their problems keeps piling up.
isnt the big 3 a nickname specified for SM, YG & JYP?
@@foreversolelyyea but that might change. rn it’s big 4 but soon it’s gonna be big 3 as in hybe, jyp, and sm
@@777.NeoLuvrI can see sm failing if they don't change the way they do thir business, yg and sm are the same
@@KatlegoApadile umm ok. i never was rlly talking abt sm but go off…
@@KatlegoApadileagreed sm is going to the shitter too
I love the groups but how is ‘yg stan’ a thing like cmon just bc u like treasure doesn’t mean u stan the group honey 💀😭🙏🏽
Fr I've saw many teumes who always call themselves as yg stan but they only stan treasure 💁♀️if u are a yg stan that means u stan every grp of yg but only one grp 😭😭
BabyMonster is really just 2NE1 3.0 just as Blackpink was 2NE1 2.0. Especially when YG himself says that "Blackpink is the prettier 2NE1"
Huh? How can he even say that he is a piece of trash tbh idc if yg stans are going to attack me for this 💁♀️💁♀️ 2NE1 is still one of the legendary grp for me
With the release of baby monster song i realized that YG might be in big trouble.
Blackpink members is a smart girls, they truly learned from what happened to their predecessor and not making the same mistake of being manipulated to the very end.
yg's groups are fashion brands not music groups!
Yeah the music sounds the same 🥱
Babymonster didn't promote because they were waiting for Ahyeon, now they are promoting a lot, but when I say a lot, means a lotttt. But I actually feel bad for all the idols under YG!! Thank God Blackpink didn't renew, but hope they are still friends, and would create songs together!!
there is no downfall, there might have been some challenges but YG will rise above it, YG artist letf let them
tbh it’s looking like the big 3 right now is Hybe, sm and jyp. (even though it isn’t) and let’s not forget the decline of jyp music production that keeps getting worser and worser by each release by a jyp artist + sm terrible mistreatment to the artists under the company. idk what’s happening to the big 3 right now but they clearly need to change stuff in the company since Hybe is outselling and carrying kpop now
Fr
three big is not such a thing. Please search first. There are three agencies that created the big 3 kpop. this is yg jyp and sm. hybe will never and will not enter here.
@@rafiqibadzade6067 “three big” don’t you mean the big three if you’re going to act dumb and respond to my comment at least right your comment probably. I know what the big three is and i know it’s jyp,sm and yg but if you look at the kpop industry right now hybe is outselling all of these companies especially yg that’s why i took yg off. There’s been so many smaller companies also ruling kpop (like the company ive, ateez, kiss of life, etc) Kpop fan nowadays don’t care much about JUST the big three groups. You’re clearly mad that kpop is changing since you said “hybe will never and will not enter here” cry about it. Hybe is doing better then any company in kpop right now and it shows with their artists sales, streams, fans, etc
Marked my words/comment. The company will rise AGAIN THATS HOW. BUSINESS works. Up and downs they get up and they keep on head high :) I’m sure they will change their strategy now that they making new groups
And that’s normal for company’s artist to leave they come and go 😅
No offense but I feel like Batter up by BABYMONSTER sounds a little bit like Money by LISA...no?
It's does sound familiar to money for me too 💁♀️
I seriously still didnt understand why yg dont want their artists to interact with others like other companies allows thier artists to do challenges together but ive never saw any yg artists doing challenges with other artists except yg artists itselves its like a prison ! I really dont want ahyeon to comeback in that hell again ! She has a lot of potential to debut in other big companies i seriously want her in either hybe or jype😭😭
blackpink has STILL so much to show :(
BOYCOTT YG ENTERTAINMENT!
