I went to a mass recently with a visiting priest. He said the prayers of the mass so slowly and reverently even the air during mass felt different. I could not wait to receive our Blessed Lord in communion. If I could have run to his feet I would have. It was such a beautiful mass. I hope he returns soon. It was everything Holy Mass should be. We sometimes have a visiting priest, a Dominican, a professor at a nearby school of theology and philosophy. I still recall his first Mass with us, because at the consecration he pronounced each word with the greatest care-something like “Hoc. Est. Enim. Calix. Sanguinis. Mei…” (we have that rarity, a Novus Ordo High Mass in Latin). Without drama, it absolutely commanded attention and made it clear that something vast and significant was happening.

I found this by attending daily masses at different parishes. It opened my eyes to how irreverent some (solidly Catholic) churches are. Obviously liberal churches are just irreverent by nature but I didn't notice how much better it could be until I went to other parishes more often. Now we drive about 50 mins, pass by about 5 catholic churches every Sunday to the most reverent parish that I know of in our diocese. I am thrilled. Still very sad for how irreverent most churches are 😢

Much in the same way that we talk and laugh sometimes about foreigners who speak English as a second language knowing more about its proper forms and usage, it is just the same here. Or another example, people who became naturalized citizens of the USA are more likely to know the Constitution and Declaration of Independence than those who are born-Americans. When one is given something for which they did nothing, one is apt to take that thing for granted. Not always, but the danger and examples of it are clear and everywhere.

you are aware that the devil tricked adam and eve to eat from the forbidden fruit that God said to NOT Eat, but the devil says EAT it's a lie "you will not surely die". Jesus created a new alliance so we wont perish but we will have eternal life. God now says at the last supper Luke 22:19-20. "Then he took the bread, and said his blessing, broke it, and gave it to them saying "this is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me." the devil now says DO NOT eat it , it is a lie, it is not his body, God is lying. the devil can speak on behalf of people to try to dismay you. listen to God and not the devil. Obey Gods teachings and not MAN MADE which are sects (demonic) because God is not present unless it is in his holy consecrated ritualistic mass that HE ordained for us so that we will have eternal life. if you know the truth do not keep condemning yourself, it will do more harm than good.

It is a Fully Catholic parish that is a member of The Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St Peter which is its own diocese served by a Bishop that is a Roman Rite Bishop based in Texas. The Ordinariate was established by Pope Benedict XVI. It’s a personal Ordinariate in the Latin Rite. The liturgy is know as the Anglican Use of the Roman Rite but has some of the traditional Anglican elements. I liken our masses to a traditional Latin mass that is celebrated in English and not in Latin. It is extremely reverent. I learned what it truly means to OFFER WORSHIP to the Father by experiencing the celebration in this form. Thank you for commenting so that I could clarify my statement. I felt your sadness thinking that we had left our one, true Catholic Faith and I appreciate it!

You are SPOT ON!!! I stopped attending the Novus Ordo eight months ago once I found the Traditional Latin Mass. The amount of reverence that is displayed from the Priest and parishioners is night and day. Communion should be received kneeling on the tongue. I asked my 4 year old which Mass he thought made Jesus happier and he said the Latin Mass!!! The priest is the only one with consecrated hands. He is the only person who should touch our Lord. Thank you for making this video! If you are a Eucharistic Minister, you should really consider doing something else to help in the church.

@johanneshartman4618 Well, I believe he transubstantiated into bread and wine just like he said in the last supper. There is another passage In The Bible where he is really clear, he said this: “56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?” John 6:56-60.
If this helps understand great! If you steal don't get what we believe. Well, just keep loving God. I truly hope you come home.

It's the result of poor training and poor formation. In the Old Rite the forefinger and thumb of the priest do not separate until the fraction rite and even there the care and respect remains. I only learned this (and much more ), after 30 yrs of being a priest. We were never taught anything about the the pre vatican II Mass. Now, as a retired priest in the U.K. I follow the rubrics as close as I can to the Old Rite - I only use the Canon (Euch1), and do as much as as I can in Latin including all the gestures proper to it without disrespecting the Usus antiquior. Between the stone cutters and the rainbows it's not an exaggeration to suggest that 80/90% of the current clergy in U.K. and Ireland belng to the latter category. If your priest never preaches on the difficult teachings contra sext - contra none then it's likely he belongs "the cabal" If he is climate friendly and leans to the left another sign for sure! Pray!

One of the larger churches in my city holds the consecrated hosts not at the altar but in a closet sized room down the hall near the bathrooms. People also frequently drop the host on the floor and step on it. It’s not a popular opinion but it seems quite common at the Novus Ordo churches here in my area (we tried many before we found our parish home). It makes my heart hurt to see the Pope pushing for the end of the Extraordinary Form for this reason, because I have never seen such irreverence at an EF Mass. I wish the reverence would be more focused on at NO Mass too. Thank you for speaking on this. Our Lord’s presence is one of our greatest gifts here in Earth!

While most of the time I offer the Traditional Latin Mass, I am sometimes asked to assist with distributing communion or concelebrating the Ordinary Form if the bishop of our Diocese is visiting the parishes where I serve. In addition to your wonderful reminders, I would add one thing. I keep on the altar in the private oratory where I celebrate private daily Mass, and a few parishes still keep an ablution cup next to the tabernacle. It is a small glass or metal container that has water in it and is used to purify the fingers after touching the Most Sacred Body of our Lord in the Eucharist. At the end of the day, it can be consumed by the priest or if there are multiple people using it throughout the day, sprinkled over plants in the garden (I keep some flowers and roses in the garden to place before our Lady's image). When I make a hospital visit, I have a little metal cup and take a small bottle of water to purify my fingers and the Pyx once the last host is consumed. In this case, I purify my fingers before moving to the next patient room, and then put a bit more water in to purify the little cup. One could always ask for one of the little plastic medicine cups from the nurses too, just do not toss it in the trash at the end. Keep it and use it each time you go to sick or hospital visits. Just a warning. Practice purifying your fingers, as using the little cup, you don't want to splash water around, so it will take some practice to know how much water to use for yourself. Pray for me a sinner, and all deacons, priests, and bishops.

Yes, this is why we have changed our last parish just down the street to our new FSSPX Parish a twenty minute drive away. Worth every added kilometer in order to worship, adore and receive our most beautiful sweet Eucharistic Jesus the way He deserves. The longer drive gives us time to pray the Rosary on our way, which is also wonderful.
Oh the horrific irreverance has to stop, we pray for reform, we pray that our Holy Spirit bring about deep conversion, deep love and courage for our Eucharistic Lord and God in all hearts.
+May our Jesus, our sweet Mother Mary and our dear Papa Joseph bless you and make you holy+

      Dear Ken,
The Priests in the Parish we belong to are all having the intention to find full communion with the Church and pray for our Holy Father daily. They never speak negatively about our Holy Father the Pope. They are not schismatics or sedevacantists but speak strongly against this way of thinking. We are aware that some SSPX Priests and Parishes are on this wrong track and that these must be avoided at all cost. We continue to pray for Holy unity and reform.
      Here is some good information:
“The canonical situation of the SSPX and of its clergy has been the subject of controversy since the 1988 Écône consecrations. While the society is not listed in Annuario Pontificio as a recognized society of apostolic life, it has nonetheless benefited from some significant allowances normally granted only to recognized orders and societies. A 1995 letter from the Pontifical Commission stated that there is "no doubt about the validity of the ordination of the priests of the Society of St. Pius X. They are, however, suspended a divinis."[42] In the November-December 2017 edition of the society's publication The Angelus, Fr. Francois Knittel, SSPX, wrote: "The Church authorities have gradually recognized the liceity and the validity of the ministry performed by the priests of the SSPX."[43]
      Marriage Edit
On 27 March 2017, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith communicated that Pope Francis had decided to grant local ordinaries the right to give to a priest in good standing the faculty to preside at the marriage of followers of the society, immediately after which they will participate in a Mass celebrated by an SSPX priest, or, if no priest in good standing can receive the consent of the couple, to give the faculty instead to an SSPX priest. Previously, in 2008, the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei had stated: "The priests of the Society of St. Pius X are ... prohibited from exercising their priestly functions," going on to conclude that, in the case of matrimony, "these sacraments are invalid," since a suspended priest lacks the proper delegation from the bishop.[44]
      Confession Edit
On 20 November 2016, Pope Francis personally and indefinitely extended an allowance he created during the Holy Year of 2015, whereby penitents confessing to priests affiliated with the SSPX "shall validly and licitly receive the absolution of their sins."[45]
      Ordination and Holy Orders Edit
During an interview with TV Libertes on 29 January 2017, Bishop Fellay announced that theological discussions with the Holy See had led to permission for the society to licitly ordain priests: "This summer it was confirmed that the Superior General can freely ordain the priests of the society without having to ask permission from the local bishop."[46]
      Mass Edit
In 2020, Father Edward McNamara, professor of liturgy and dean of theology at the Regina Apostolorum university in Rome, reaffirmed the statement he made in 2011, before Pope Benedict granted certain faculties in favor of SSPX priests. After declaring that "the Masses celebrated by members of the Society of St. Pius X are valid but illicit, i.e., contrary to Canon Law", he said: "The mere fact of assisting at a Mass of this society is not a sin. It would only become so if a person attended this Mass with the deliberate intention of separating himself from communion with the Pope and those in communion with him. I would say, therefore, that a conscientious Catholic should not knowingly attend a Mass celebrated by a priest not in good standing with the Church." He added: "Only if there is objectively no alternative should one attend the Mass celebrated by a priest from the Society of St. Pius X. If one has to do so, then I would say that one may go in good conscience and receive Communion at such a Mass. It would also fulfill the Sunday obligation", and explained that "alternative" is not limited to "Mass in the extraordinary form": a Catholic who seeks this form but finds none available other than the SSPX celebration "should attend an ordinary form Mass or even any Eastern Catholic celebration so as to remain in full Catholic communion".[44][47]
      Jurisdiction Edit
When told by a journalist of InfoVaticana, a provider of religious information founded in Madrid in October 2013,[48] that what Pope Francis had decided in March 2017 was instead that, "from now on, the weddings celebrated by the priests from the FSSPX are going to be recognized," Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke, who had not seen the actual document, remarked: "That is a very significant action of the Holy Father, and it also indicates that in some way there must be a reconciliation of the FSSPX because basically what the Pope is saying is that the priests in this society, when they witness marriages, are exercising jurisdiction in the Roman Catholic Church."[49] In reality, it is local ordinaries, not the society, that in the document are authorized, if they wish, to delegate jurisdiction to SSPX priests to assist canonically at some marriages.
The society's view is that, before Pope Francis's authorizations, their priests held "supplied" jurisdiction (power of governance) for confessions and marriages. They received this supplied jurisdiction by law and not "by delegation or by mandate of the Sovereign Pontiff or the diocesan bishops or of regularly appointed parish priests."[50][51][52]
Since the grants by Pope Francis, the society says that its priests have or can have ordinary jurisdiction for the sacraments of confession and marriage. It adds that, in cases where a diocesan bishop refuses to grant delegation for a marriage, SSPX priests can still use extraordinary jurisdiction.[53]”

Thank you so very much for this. I was converted 12 years ago in the UK and since had returned to my homeland, Singapore in the last couple of years. I so wanted to shout aloud to the Priests, we know how you feel by your every moves from this side of the altar. We know when you felt under pressure, in a hurry or acting in automation mode. Dare I say your every actions reflect how much reverence, love and believes when you held the precious Jesus in your consecrated hands. Take your time like a mother with a new borned babe. For those who attend Mass daily, they will wait patiently and for those who attend Mass on Sundays only then even more so spending a little extract time in God's house should not present an issue. Look at the depiction of picture/sculpture where Jesus held the lost sheep that he found how its was held securely over his shoulders, it speaks love.

Solution: get to a Traditional Latin Mass. We shouldn't be allowing unconsecrated fingers (lay ministers) touching our Lord either. The Traditional Latin Masses I go to, they get another priest to come up and distribute Holy Communion from seperate Ciboriums, which already contains The Consecrated Sacred Hosts. Also, as someone receiving Holy Communion, don't touch our Lord. Recieve Him only on the tongue and kneeling. *You are literally receiving God, the very God Whom angels tremble at the sight off, into you* Don't take it for granted. Even if you're going to a "reverent" N.O Mass, remember, in The Latin Mass you're surrounded by posture, music, paintings and architecture that are all aimed at drawing attention to The God Who becomes your food.

Yes I agree! Here’s an idea to show reverence for the Lord:
Bring back kneeling to receive Holy Communion. Let only consecrated hands touch the Blessed Sacrament, meaning Priests or Deacons. Receive Communion on the tongue. That is reverence. Also genuflect when you enter a pew, this shows reverence for we know who is in the tabernacle.

Thank you for saying this! I once visited a different parish and a lay Eucharist minister was doing just what you did putting his hands all over consecrated hosts on the altar putting away leftover hosts after communion. There were so many hosts that the bowl he poured them into overflowed and several fell on the altar. He literally man handled the hosts in front of everyone. The priest was sitting on the side unaware of what was going on. My heart hurt and broke at the sight. I then got angry for the disrespect and disregard for Our Lord.

This is so important. Posture, movements and the bodily language used in mass is so important! I’ve been telling this to my family and parish for years and they all say “what matters is the intention of the heart”. Well sure, but if the intention of the heart is true…why is it not translated externally?
I live in a Muslim dominant country. I don’t agree with their theology, but the way they pray is so reverant. Every movement, even the position of their fingers, have a spiritual meaning. And that is why when a christian converts to Islam, they claim to have a deeper sense of spirituality while doing Salah compared to during Mass. Because the emphasis and significance of bodily language has been so lost in today’s worship, that the people subconsciously look for it in other religions. It’s heart breaking. What’s worse is that they don’t even realize its happening!
I truly hope our church will be renewed. Revive back old traditions. Remind back the rituals and mystical sense of the Mass. By God’s Will, the Church will fluorish once more.

It's so heartbroken watching the way priests handle Our Lord. Some of them use all the fingers to break the large host they consume then immediately use the same hand to move the microphone and missal, without a thought that they just broke the Eucharist.
The way they hand the smaller ciboriums to their 'servants' is also deplorable, with one hand extended sideways as if throwing something away.

This is so true. It breaks my heart to hear that 69% of Catholics today don't believe in the real presence, and I believe that this is a big part of the problem. I've seen so much liturgical abuse in different parishes I've attended in the last few months and it's heartbreaking. Today I decided to attend a New parish that I heard was fairly traditional. They played a video during Mass about why you should donate. There was clapping during and after Mass. I attended a Christmas Eve Mass this where the priest said he was having a special guest. Santa Claus walked in during the Mass and started saying "ho, ho, ho". Everyone was clapping and I was disgusted. The parish near my house has denied me Communion on the tongue multiple times and I've heard the paster say God's name in vain in an irreverent way during Holy Mass. What's even worse are the schools. The uniform skirts for Catholic high schools in my area bring me to tears. The fact that they wear these skirts to Mass breaks my heart. Nobody has any respect or reverence for the Eucharist anymore. All we can do is hope and pray. Thank you for spreading this message which isn't talked about enough. God bless and Mary be with you:)

This "church" with Santa Claus and the donation video would no longer be my Church. It sounds like your priest doesn't take anything very seriously. How did he even graduate from seminary? Shake the dust from your sandals and move on to the next place, until you find one that actually welcomes the Lord and listens to Him. Good luck. Too many congregations want to make Jesus all about what they want to believe, rather than what He says.
My advice? Stay away from secularized churches, and from the "holier than thou" churches too.
