Magnifica!!!!!!! I love Sutherland, but She comes from another planet. Best of all. Every single note and dinamica are PERFECTION. I, as italian, love this measure more than everything

What a fabulous performance !!!reminds me of the young Sutherland, a lighter voice but still wonderful.

Devia here does not remind me of a young Sutherland in any way whatsoever. No disrespect to you or any other opera lover whatsoever (if you love opera, I love you), but this is an Italian voice in an Italian woman who has an Italian soul and spirit, educated/trained at the St Cecilia in Rome. The great, great Sutherland didn't have an Italian bone in her body. This is a different thing altogether on the spiritual plane. Devia is the warmest woman to grace operatic stage in her decades, which continue - have you heard the Gounod from 2019? Such genuine singing and personality are not found elsewhere. Separately, I love her face. I cannot ever take my eyes off her face, millennia of pureblood Italian genetics are there. She is L'Italiana sine qua non.

Ms. Devia was somewhat sparing in adding ornamention, which I admire. The Lucia mad scene must be the single greatest scene for soprano. Just think: there's the audience of course, the orchestra naturally, but also you have the entire cast and chorus as your audience as well. Singing Lucia is not for the faint of heart! .
