Wow, thanks for the enlightenment on this subject, really appreciate, you've convinced me to take use of that excellent feature, especially in regards to ppl with health issues,,I did neglect it cause of battery life, I mean most watches these days will hardly get you 7 days without a charge ,even without that feature, I do thank you for that.
Ha, thanks for this dude. I use my galazy phone to check my o2, but this is much more handy. I'll be getting this watch for black friday for sure, upgrading from a fitbit HR2.
was a bit unsure about the accuacy of the blood ox but had to go to med center tody the doc checked my blood ox because of covid on a prof machine and the readind was the same as my garmin impressed
Very informative. I am currently looking at getting a Garmin Instinct and was unaware that the non-solar versions do not have Pulse Ox. Was leaning toward solar anyway :)
I have had both. A lot of people will rave about how much better the solar is vs. the non solar. To me, I never saw that much of a difference. . . they are both great. With that said the solar does have a couple extra features that the non-solar doesn't (Pulse OX, Battery Management Options, Solar Charging, Hunt and Fish activities, etc.). Budget should be the first consideration, but if you can swing it I think the Solar is worth the extra cost. Just seeing the solar charging/intensity is worth it for me. . . . just cool :). Thanks for watching the video, good luck to you.
Thanks a ton for these tiny helpful videos. One query - today I saw in Desfit Instinct Solar review that there is Respiration rate in sleep tracking. I am not able to see it in my Garmin Connect Android app. Do you have any pointers on how to get the sleep respiration data ?
The manual also talks about using a silicon strap. But I actually can't see or find the benefits of this. Like the manual also explains, the PulseOX works by transmittin light into the bloodstream and detects how much light from this is returned. So this could be practically with every kind of wriststrap. As long as the the sensor is firmly (clean) strapped to your skin. It's even working without wriststrap when just holding the sensor firmly to the skin. Update: The manual of the Instinct 2 Solar talks about a silicone or nylon band.
Jumble, my solar instinct options seem different to your instinct, I go settings. widget. pulse ox then recorder option appears and then pulse ox with an up down triangle on the right hand side which i cannot seem to activate, would any other setting effect the pulse ox activation? Cheers.
Thank you! I couldn't figure out how to access this feature. Now that I set it as a widget, I can use it. Appreciate all your time and effort making these videos, now I can get the most out of my new garmin instinct solar! Happy holidays!
There's something not clear here. In the www or GC app it says, that enabling the Pulse Ox Sleep tracking will track the Pulse Ox ONLY when sleeping, so that means it will not track Pulse Ox during the rest of the day. Another thing, if Pulse Ox was to be tracked only during sleep time, how the battery would extend when having this option OFF?? It should be the other way round.
I have the solar. When I scroll down in the Help/ Pulse Ox Tracking in Garmin connect I don't see Pulse Ox Settings. I am scrolling to the very bottom.
Hum, this is going to sound strange. . . but go outside and connect to a GPS. Then try again. I know it doesn't make sense, but that is the suggestion from the Garmin website - support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=DiXoviR4NG7wohCk297geA#:~:text=There%20may%20be%20times%20when,to%20acquire%20a%20GPS%20fix.
Hello Sir. You’ve helped me so much already. But I added the PulseOx to my widgets. But when I go to it, it only says, remove or reorder..... Can you help please. Thank you.
In the medical field, anything below 93% Sp02 and you’re gonna get supplemental oxygen. The average, 30 year old, non-smoker has a resting pulse ox of 98-99%. I would call this particular watch reading unreliable. Have fun!
I belive nobody would take readings for 100% accurate and I think it is good tool to get overall idea. Nobody expect precise medical instrumentation in outdoor watches :)
Not true, i work in medical field, some non smokers have resting 02% below 97%, i myself a non smoker have numbers that fluctuate 94-98% with medical grade oximeters measured in hospitals. If this guy had 86% as his lowest, that means he could have an OSA and he needs to wear cpap at night

Glad it helped, appreciate you watching!

Just received mine. This watch is fantastic and military spec waterproof.

Can you compare the efficiency of the solar instinct with a real dedicated SPO2 device?

I saw Desfit video also but have the same issue as you. Can't see any respiration info.

Is this the latest version of the o2 sensor?
Could you please do some videos on the Instinct 2 ? Also what does the percentage mean once it gives you a reading ?

Does the solar instinct has respiration rate measurement ?
The solar model has a pulse oximeter. This video gives an idea of how that works - th-cam.com/video/iuG0E6S_xIY/w-d-xo.html
@@JUMBLE2015 Thanks!
Are this pulse ox is from update, I cancel bought instict solar because the description didn't support for Spo2
Moving the watch closer to the elbow made it finish the test showing 95%. It was towards fingers before resulting in no result even for 3 mins+.

Geez. I’m so stupid. I just read watched the adding widget vid. I got it now. Thank you sir 👍🏻🙏🏻
I cannot find Pulse ox on my Garmin Instinct Tactical. How to add it?
Do you have the solar model? I am pretty sure it is only available on the solar versions.
Can you link your band?
Let me know if the link doesn’t work: a.aliexpress.com/_mK7FKJN

I don't have plus ox as an option on widget
Are you using a solar model? It is only on the solar models. Also you would need to have the HR sensor turned on.
@@JUMBLE2015 thanks so much. I don't . I believe it's the standard model.
@@JUMBLE2015 I love your videos
anoyone else suddenly battery drain in 2 days without knowing why. I guess its the pulse oximeter, but how to turn it off for good?
Oh, your deep sleep is just 57 minutes, do you think you get enough sleep?
