- Igor Levit performs Beethoven - Sonata No. 2 in A major, Op. 2, No.2 at the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition (March, 2005, Tel Aviv). Since its inception in 1974, the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition is one of the foremost Piano Competitions in the world. Arthur Rubinstein, who gave his blessing to the competition, headed the jury of the first two competitions (1974 & 1977).
The competition, is held every three years in Tel Aviv, Israel.

dieser Podcast ist wirklich großartig. Manche Sätze kommen zwar ein wenig zu kurz, weil sie nicht den Charakter der Sonate ausmachen, aber ansonsten ist die Aufbereitung und die Hintergrundgeschichte sehr angenehm zu hören.

What a fine , intelligent , resourceful player ! The 2nd mov. I first heard when I was in 7th grade .I couldn't believe the solidity, gravity . I had never heard anything like it before the young lady was televised playing the wonderful 3rd mov. minuet and trio . It's esp. interesting to hear how different from Hadyn HerrB . is this early . A poignant, pleading lyricism like that of sonataNo.6 . Igor Levit seems a master here already at 18 -such taste ,wit balance in emotion . And his execution is so fine andclean one realizes he is in touch with his instrument !

Что-то мне это исполнение Россини напоминает больше.
Я думаю потому что это была его ранняя соната. Пианист он был виртуозный, отсюда такие пассажи, но стиля как такового ещё не было- был под влиянием других композиторов той эпохи, хотя уже противостояние им уже надвигалось.
Очень загадочный композитор и именно это исполнение сонаты считаю очень правильным.
