Simply fantastic! Pure joy to listen to and watch this beautiful piece with Igor Levit and the "Kammerphilharmonie Bremen". His interpretation is deep-going, touching and extremely humorous and vivid at the same time. He passes on the joy to his fellow colleagues in the orchestra.

Levit plays this concert with genuine gusto. Many rapid passages sound almost like a harpsichord. The cadenza in the form of a fugue is brilliant. The playing is crystalline, emotional, technically amazing, it goes to the hidden bottom of the essence of music. A new name to my list of greatest piano players. Bien merci Jean-Melchior pour cet pièce de beauté.

I think Igor Levit had an absolute ball playing this concerto , he almost never had a smile off this face the whole way through and loved the part in the Gypsy Rondo where he beamed a wide smile to the two violinists opposite. Just love him an awesome performer

Ich bin immer wieder von Levits Präzision beim Anschlag fasziniert - besser gehts nicht.

Levit can play what he wants. Extraordinary sensibility for Haydn.....I,m waiting to know what can he do with the Mozart,s sonatas.

I do not know how he plays the Mozart sonatas, but he does a wonderful performance of the Concerto No 9;the Jeunehomme Concerto

Wouldn't you like to have been in the rehearsals?

Probabely there were not many reheasals...these musicians are super professionals that don't need to rehearse much...especially for this relatively simple but wonderful concerto...the second movement has a Mozartean quality of an early Mozart piano concerto...

Könnte der selige Mozart diese Aufnahme hören, er würde wohl nicht mehr von "Papa Haydn" reden.

Absolutely correct, school like performance!! Predictable and no fantasy! The orchestra is simply BRILLIANT! We should also know that most kids play this piece at age 7-8!! Not really super difficult!

Why is the pianosound played by Levit always like behind a wall, its not that the orchestra is too loud, complicate phrases are suddenly disappearing......thats not the only recording. Maybe he is better in playing chambermusic.......
