    Mike, Great Video! A lot of work too! In My Humble Opinion, I personally would never leave the old hoses on the car. After going through ALL of THIS WORK to gain access, I would DEFINITELY REPLACE ALL OF THE HOSES. ;-) Regards, Jack

    I did this job today and i didnt take off the tire , the engine mount , or the windshield wiper box . What i did was remove the brackets holding the 2 pipes together then i put them both in separately through the bottom actually pretty easily. After they were in there i put the brackets back on the pipes and screwed them in .

    • @jamesgriffith8535
      @jamesgriffith8535 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also i didnt need to take out the air box or unscrew the throttle cable . and to get the old one out i just bent it so i could pull it right out of the top .

      For some folks, these original tubes have the bracket tack welded to the two tubes. For my removal, I also didn't take off the stuff listed here. To remove easily, I cut off as much of the length of the tubes at the bottom as far up as possible. Then pulled them out together easily. Installed new ones as listed here one at a time..

    If you just take 20 mins and remove the wiper motor box assy you don't have to mess with lowering the engine. Makes it real easy to remove and replace the tubes.

    My 05 dgc sxt 3.8 v6 is leaking at the coupling/reducer hose connections... I hope I can find another c/r without replacing the whole assy....big headache as you display... I hit a deer a few weeks ago so I had to replace radiator and a.c. condenser and both cooling fans... I got them in so after that noticed antifreeze smell and been having to add coolant to the overflow jug every other day... so tonight it was smoking and I could see the coupling/reducer pieces leaking.. I think it between the core hose and the coupler... the other end reducer connecting to assy is ok. BUT I have NOT noticed the fans coming on ?

    • @oliverstreet7704

      bsdguy - that was probably done to allow access to part of the engine mount. Removing the wiper box makes the job less difficult than the method shown.

    Thanks for the video. Time to trade off my caravan. To difficult of job for me and I am sure the cost to repair at a service center is at the least three-quarters of the van's worth.

    • @oliverstreet7704
      @oliverstreet7704 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      equallywrong - the job is far easier if you remove the wiper box, see my comment about how. I've seen this job quoted between $250 and $500 including the part. If that's 3/4 of your van's worth it must be in very poor condition, but if you are taking it to a mechanic for everything then there comes a point when it's less expensive to pay $500 or $600/month for a new minivan. (Including taxes, and insurance). If you have an AWD, the only choice is the Toyota Sienna AWD at around $45K+taxes,insurance, etc. which is $750/mo for 60 months plus tax and insurance. For me this is a

    *** NOTE *** if no money and just trying to keep van going due to leaking pipe or rear hoses, just take front motor heater hose off and bypass to rear motor inlet (remove rear hose first of course) - heater wont work anymore, but it's a free fix, and only takes 5 minutes. No need to do anything else. Save up for part and do later....

    i have a 1996 dodge caravan and whenever i run my defroster water starts to drip/pour underneath the dash onmy passenger side and i also start to hear a muffling sound as if water is hitting a plastic bag, lol what do you think is my problem? does this mean i need a new heater core? i do get heat and cold air so it works but it seems to me its leaking or something. i need help.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dean Williams You may want to inspect it to see where it's leaking from

    • @jawojnicki
      @jawojnicki 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      if this doesn't happen with vent or floor heat, but ONLY with defrost, it CAN NOT be the heater core. It's likely the water off the evaporator of the AC. Many cars automatically turn on the AC when you turn on defrost, even if the air coming out is warm. This removes humidity from incoming air and makes defrost work better. Often times, in the winter, the drain tube for the AC evaporator gets clogged and the water that drips off it CAN'T drain onto the ground. Since you posted this 8 mo ago, you prob already fixed it, but let me know if you need more help, and I'll tell you what to do. Good Luck
