That's ridiculous that they can't include Alaska when giving free shipping to Canada and the UK. I agree they should include you as you are part of the US.

Hi Laura full support on boycotting Premier that's absolutely rude and ridiculous, I have quite a bit of Premier yarns bought years ago but living in Australia I can't bring myself to pay the high postage they ask nowadays but after hearing that I definitely won't be buying at all. You may only be one person but sometimes it only takes that one person to make a stand and fingers crossed make a difference. Thankyou for sharing. 🫂
I've only bought once from them since I have been crocheting and of course, and its going to stay that way until they change their policies.

I get that Alaska is a good distance away but Premier at least owes you the same shipping deal as Canada gets! That's a crock!
This was really interesting and I enjoyed learning more about you and Alaska. SHAME on Premier!!!!! I was always taught in school that Alaska and Hawaii are two of the states, so whay aren't they treated as such?

I'm in Canada, and I don't order from Premier Yarns, either. Shipping prices from them are insane. I don't really understand why, because Lionbrand has really cheap shipping to me. I also stopped shopping with Herrschner's, as well, because they changed their shipping to way more expensive that with charge me twice - once from them and once when I go to pick it up from the post office. I would love for Lionbrand to share their cheap shipping secrets!

Speaking for myself Laura, I look forward to every time I am able to spend time with you no matter what you put on your channel. My hubby resents every dime I spend on yarn etc. simply because he doesn’t understand the draw. He is grateful for the benefits I have received by way of crochet and TH-cam, however.
Silly men, I think we need to tell our men, that since they don't like our yarn shopping, that we will just sit by them and talk because without yarn we will have nothing to do. LOL

Thanks for explaining about Premier boycott. I think the yarny community needs to have a letter or email campaign to Premier and try to resolve this. It is definitely not right. I did a travel nurse assignment in Alaska years ago and it was the best 9 months ever. Got to see a bit of that beautiful state. Counted the bald eagles on my way to work. Cried when I left. I lived in Minnesota when my kids were little and I think the coldest temp there was about 35-40 below. I used to tell people that it kept the riff-raff out. Have fun at your hockey game!!

When my cousin and his wife were alive they lived in Clam Gulch AK. Her son lived in North Pole AK but I can’t remember his name. Never got there to visit.

Laura I completely agree with you that Premier yarns should include Alaska in the free shipping. It is a part of the United States and this should not be happening at all. It’s great that they send to the UK and Canada but they should include all of the US before branching out to other countries. Definitely. Hope this gets their attention and it makes them change.

I can get free shipping on almost anything when ordering online, just need to meet their $ amount. So, Alaska and Hawaii limits are same as Canada?
They would sale more? We all do it, The if I buy a little more I get free shipping (I can always use it later) 😂

I think I might be misunderstanding you but Premier is not offering free shipping if you meet a certain dollar amount to Alaska and Hawaii. They do have that for Canada and the UK. That is the issue here. If you can provide that to 2 foreign countries why can't that be done for Alaska and Hawaii which are part of the US. LaLa is not saying take that away from Canada and the UK but at least give us the same.
Some channels are using memberships to help continue their channel. Buy yarn, how you gift the patterns etc. 🤷♀️

I love Premier Yarn but it is too expensive get from Australia only DHL or UPS Delivery with no discount on amount purchased. I just checked out their site and you may have achieved success. On the site it now states Contigous US Customers now get Free Shipping on purchases of $75 or more. So bigh Kudos to you .👍 Watching your from a rainy Salztburg Austria, love this video.

Funny I can mail you a letter for the same stamp it takes to the lower 48, so I am betting there is similar postage to AK for packaging. I agree it is discrimination, pure and simple.

Premier Yarn should have a fair police to Alaska. They should find out what other companies did to make their products reach people in a cheaper way. It seems Canada and UK are another new USA states... crazy, crazy... 😅
Hi Laura! I would boycott with you, but I'm a broke stitch and don't order from them anyway. I have not bought any of their yarn from dollar tree. I don't think it's fair. I hope you get some kind of response from them.
It must be really fun to live in Alaska. I would love to go for at least a cruise trip to see the icebergs and all else. Have you ever made this trip? About health, do you take lysine or any other complement to enhance your body resistence/health? Do you make clothes with cotton and/or bamboo yarn for the Summer? Can tou talk about your painting? Do you paint with acrylic or other? Have you ever tried freestyle crochet? What characteristics would you say that the people of Alaska have? Are they easy going? Relaxed? Skilfull? Adventurous? If you had to study at the university today, what would you study? Would you become a vet? You like animals for sure. 😊 Or study something like Administration or something related of taking care of people, maybe? Because get worried with people. Take good care. Sorry for so many questions. I have done a cruise of the Inside Passage of Alaska. It was wonderful. It was the last trip I took with my sister and my mother. I miss them dearly. I don't take supplements. I will hit on the other questions in a video. I have written them down.
You need an organized campaign, and that incudes letters from all Alaskan fiber artists. Your complaint is entirely valid and Premier should respect and honor their obligation to its US customers.
That would be nice, but most of the fiber artists I know wouldn't touch Premier yarn or any acrylic yarn. Actually our Walmart only sells one line of Premier and it's Puzzle. My JoAnn only sells the anti pilling one. That's why I would like to buy more from them. Oh well.
Humm what is wrong with this....last time I knew Alaska was apart of the United States. Come on Premier get it together. This is not a small channel and word of mouth is a domino effect. Especially in our yarney community.

The villages can have milk for up to $20 a gallon. Here in North Pole, I can pay $4.29 a gallon for whole milk.

I understand the difference in shipping to Alaska and Hawaii but if they can offer it to Canada and the UK they can certainly offer it all US states and territories. PS i buy my premier yarns through other companies because i can't afford their shipping.
I understand your frustration, but why not blame the real culprits? Why do the shipping carriers charge outrageous fees to send anything to Alaska? Higher rates than to Canada or the UK and certainly more than the lower 48 or Hawaii.
Other companies will ship to me with their special codes and free shipping codes. Premier will not. Postage to Alaska is NOT more than shipping to Canada or the UK
@@MadMimisCrochetandFarming postage may not be, but shippers (UPS, DHL, etc.) costs certainly are. This is not to excuse Premier or any other seller. And your boycott is your choice alone.

A response would be great, even if they told me to pound dirt. I would have accepted that, but they couldn't be bothered to even respond to the message I sent through their page. I doubt I will hear from them but my boycott will continue regardless.

I have a question...... How Much does a head of lettuce cost you? I'm asking because I watched this documentary, and these people were living in Alaska and they had to pay $33 for a head of iceburg/foxy lettuce!!! Outrageous! So I'm just curious 😊💙
Is Premier Yarn the only yarn company who does this? Or do others also do it? It seems it might be a matter of high postage to that prea. They will ship to Canada and Uk for a $100 order. This would most likely help them earn enough to be able to offset the price of the yarn. I don't know why they can't do something like that for Alaska and Hawaii. Just my 2 cents. :)
That's my argument. I haven't come across another company yet that does this. When someone offers free shipping on specials, I can get them.

Yes I have brick and mortar stores, but only Walmart has 1 yarn of Premier. So I continue on my boycott.
What age bracket is your grandson. My grandbabies range from almost a year all the way up to 24. We have his, hers and theirs ❤ there are 9 total ( 8 boys, 1 girl) at this point in time. And 7 fur grandbabies, 2 cats 5 dogs.
I have just the 1 grandson now and he is still in school. That's all I am willing to say about age.

They offer free shipping to the UK & Canada but they exclude free shipping to Alaska & Hawaii have you personally contacted them because that sounds bizarre! I know myself I don’t host a channel but I do giveaways on channels & since I pay for the shipping myself it is just to expensive to ship to Alaska & Hawaii & Canada being on SS Disability I like to give the only thing I could do is offer a different prize which would be a greeting card with a stitch marker & a flavored tea & that is not the same gift but the different between even a small grab bag which I send to the lower which cost under $5 I know parts of Canada it would cost over $16 being I am in New England sorry just the way it is.

Totally agree with you, I’d boycott them too if i lived there. My lovely daughter ( sons girlfriend really) has the same skin disease and in the same places going by what you said. I feel so bad for her when she has a flare up but she’s the only one in the her family to have it.🧶👍🤗
