Sergei didn't even got a QTE. Thats tells how pissed Asura really was when he couldn't even wait for a QTE to pop up for the kill.
I think the reason he didn't is more so that in that moment we're not playing as Asura, we're playing as Yasha.
So, let's talk about Sergei shall we? As you can probably already tell this guy's Mantra affinity is Vanity. He is an extremely effeminate demigod with a penchant for referring to things with a sense of beauty or hideousness depending on his sense of taste. The aspects of destruction excites him the most due to his belief that "true beauty" is seen in destruction. He's a massive sociopath too, as he takes joy in seeing humans sacrifice themselves to please the gods and in conducting purifications.He is also extremely vain and narcissistic, as he describes that an opponent being killed by him should consider their death an honor of the highest caliber, despite their "hideousness". Despite his artistic demeanor and poetic speech, he never hesitates in making decisions and can make the cruelest decisions without the slightest hesitation, which makes him look cruel and ruthless. Out of all the demigods, he is probably the most mentally unbalanced, due to his nature as a sociopathic sadist.
And since he's a boss in this video, let's ALSO discuss Deus and his Mantra affinity of Pride. Deus is, of course, the game's antagonist, having orchestrated Asura's downfall at the start of the story. Deus thought that only a firm hand could have rid the world of the Gohma. Seeking to claim control over Shinkoku Trastrium, despite not having real desire to rule, Deus staged the murder of Emperor Strada and framed Asura for the crime. He is a prideful, arrogant and stern demigod commander who was also ruthless and hungry for power and control. He is an extremist who believed that a good end justified the means, no matter how terrible the means were. He also harboured a severe god complex and messiah complex. To this end, he desired to stop the eternal conflict between the Demigods and the Gohma and fight against fate, as he stated: "That is the duty of a god". Deus, in short, was an honourable and determined demigod who truly wished to save the world, but his delusional and blind pride and extremist views made him drunk with power, corrupting his judgment and leading him to orchestrate heinous actions. Deus also had a belief that aspects such as power and words without purpose were meaningless, and with a purpose, they could make the impossible into the possible.
it's kinda funny, because Deus was kinda right with that last bit... he just didn't realize how much Asura's purpose (saving Mithra) would push him

I did some maths in case someone is interested. 7 trillion people is far more than the number of humans that have ever lived (we haven't even reached a trillion yet). Them culling 7 trillion people over 12000 years means they harvest an average of around 1,6 million people PER DAY. That's over four times the number of births we have per day in our world/time. Those cities must be way more packed than they look 😅

A little bit of lore: demigods have different mantra affinities, which means they gain power from different emotions. While Asura gains power from wrath, Yasha gains his from melancholy and Deus - from pride.

Prod, I think you forgot a gameplay mechanic: if you press A AFTER being hit then Asura will recover his posture and regain a little bit of health
Also just wanted to say that hard mode was a mistake, not saying anything about your skill level, but the game is just not really balanced around it and it's just frustrating with how much damage you take, if you need to play an episode on a lower difficulty then by all means do it

That did not feel like I just watched an hour long video. The hype cutscenes and the story more than make up for most of the gameplay being QTEs.

Sergei is too floppy. It ruins his death scene for me.
He did lose a sizable section of his abdomen, kinda hard to not be floppy without that.
