    Dude I was high on him prior to this video and u did a great illustration of correcting some of the crap out there .People see these reps and think the wrong thing if someone spread misinformation .It matters to emphasize what the play is about .U see it with this kid that he knows he’s winning the rep even when the ball carrier isn’t touched .He turns around and confidentially jogs back to his stance cause he knows what the coaches are looking for when it comes to his position

    So was Walter Nolen before he was injured(hopefully not serious). The difference between the two is Nolen was unblockable all season too while Walker disappeared all season.

    This guy and Nick Emmanwori are the top players I'd love to see in Seattle next season. Emmanwori playing big nickel with this guy eating up space in the middle will generate a ton of 3rd and long plays. Great content as always.

      Jalen Milroe and Micah Bernard would be cool too.. but gotta build Oline before anything. Definitely need an elite young safety and DT, i think our Edges are fine with Mafe and Hall but we could add one more for cheaper

    • @Tonehawkdawg
      @Tonehawkdawg 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hawks will likely sign a good, veteran NT for cheap. There will be too many unsigned free agent DT veterans this year, and there are a lot of decent 1st-2nd round DTs. They might be able to get Banks OT with their first pick and Jihad Campbell/Emmanwori/or an Edge with their 2nd pick.

    Plays very high. His Kentucky tape is full of plays getting washed out in the run game. Extremely athletic but not nearly as physical as he should be for his size.

      Gotta have some context. He’s an emotional player - the team had major issues and it impacted his play / focus
      perhaps he had an injury, it’s not clear what but it was said to have lingered throughout this recent season
      Additionally he played to many snaps and carries allot of top heavy weight which must have tired his legs out which are not naturally thick compared to the portions of his upper body
      As for his issue of playing tall, he’s certainly known this criticism about his game tape and has been working allot on correcting it .. I think loosing some of the top weight has helped

    • @carpe164
      @carpe164 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ so you are defending him by saying he’s overweight, didn’t feel like playing hard, and has lingering injury issues?
      With friends like you, who needs enemies? Haha

    • @pigspigs76
      @pigspigs76 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @ it’s not a defence and I do think they are reasons not to draft him in the first round despite having 1st round potential
      I watched most of the Kentucky games, it was like watching nails on a chalkboard, Walker was a saving grace by contrast .. he has traits you don’t see anywhere else

    • @pigspigs76
      @pigspigs76 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@carpe164 like with any player ‘team fit’ ought to be considered a priority when drafting a player .. Walker in particular would benefit from working alongside Crosby and Wilkins
      Not everyone develops at the same rate.. that’s why I think emphasizing a players age is kind of irrelevant.. big nba players usually take many years to develop there body into being a well oiled machine- Walker in my eyes has the highest ceiling potential of anyone in the draft if he can put it all together

    • @rjharrold2907

      Eh I could see that but personally I think he would be most maximized slimming up and playing with more space and time on average by staying at 3 tech and out to the edge as a defensive lineman. Lose the fat he has and be maybe 310-20 with that length and those movement skills. Could see that help his consistency and you could think of that is him playing like Arik Armstead role. Hes not Dexter Lawrence, not even close; Chris Jones is closer but thats the high end of ehat he could be and hes still different in being a bit taller and more narrow upper frame.

    Walker looks like he has plus strength, but also looks like Frankenstein's monster trying to run. His balance seems a little clumsy. A great way to test this is to have a G lineup in front of him and tell Walker to smash that G. Then when the ball is snapped, the G just steps to the side. Watch if Walker can stay on feet or does a face plant into the grass.

  • @nickalmeida4166
    @nickalmeida4166 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Now I see these kinds of tape angles I can see exactly why he underperforms. A) he doesn’t keep a wide base out of his stance. His first step his feet come together and that is what is making his pad level so high. B) he is striking with wide hands he is always losing inside hands in these reps. If he can be more decisive in attacking half the man or getting inside hands when he gets in on the chest it’ll be a lot better for him C) he is stepping with the wrong foot in his first step. He steps with his front most foot a lot and that loses a lot of power with your first step and not getting as much penetration with your first step as well.
