Asian guys are usually pretty reserved. They don’t normally brag about themselves and don’t express their emotions very outwardly. A big sigh and smile probably is to show happy, excited, relieved, disappointed, surprised, embarrassed or other feelings … … 😂 and a little bit nervousness in all circumstances. so I am inclined to believe that’s just the way he is.
It is crazy how these judges were absolutely oblivious about Chien, they are talking to him as if he were a teenager (don't compare to anyone else/you looked more confused than us/it is your time/etc...). Chien is a champion of magic, winner of FISM with the first routine with the cards and coins, which is a competition of the best magicians in the planet. It was baffling routine even for other magicians.
This kids got some serious skills guaranteed he learned a lot of this or was motivated by Shin Lin without a doubt because that was some serious card coin slide a hand…. He is beyond extraordinary and is the future.
Real magic doesn't exist, there is always an explanation, but hey he is really really good, mostly I figured it out, but some tricks are perfectly executed. His first audition was the best.
He showed his best act, also his signature, in the first round already. The 2nd round the special part was at the end where he vanished that coin on the judge's hands before so many eyes, the rest of the act looked cool in the surface but if you watch a lot of magic that is a very popular routine and can be done by a lot of magicians. So it's safe to say he has only one act of his own and he already showed it at the audition, the rest was going down hill cuz he couldn't create of anything else in such a short amount of time.
@@Luluandbebe I would not say he only has 1 act, but only 1 act that fits this format. I suspect if you went to a show of his, he could fill a lot more time, but needs props, and setups that can't be done on a talent stage.

the key to these shows is to not make 1st place but instead go in second or third place. They make u sign some real B.S contracts if you end up first place. while 2nd and third place are let go to do whatever they want after getting the massive advertising from the show itself via just regular broadcasts.
Even though his early performances were the same ones from other "Who's got talent" shows around the world, so I wasn't exactly shocked by how great they were, that last one left me speechless... but not in a good way. I mean it was rather simplistic for the tricks that they showed, and for the one they didn't thanks to the "fabulous" camera work... well lets just say magic works better when you're watching the trick and get fooled, the "don't look over here" is something my kid would do when he was 6, so either the judges/audience saw someone from under the table put those figurines on the table while the camera was focused on him, or they saw them rise through trap doors or something, but to simply manipulate me with the camera not showing a part of the table, then focusing back is very pedestrian. And that sucks because Eric Chien is a good magician, that trick just fell very flat (no pun).
Is this E Ink? I saw a bag brand Delvaux, in which the bag surpface can change to designed color by clicking a button. That could make this game possible.
It just sucks that he performed his best act as the audition. This routine likely would have won him the entire competition had he made it to the finals and performed it, it was that good.
Great show, Eric! Man, the Taiwan regime is oppressive. To mandate a US resident (citizen?) to military service? And to oppress individuality? Couldn’t even bring your cards/etc to your dorm? Man that’s unreal. I am glad you are back at States side, and done with the oppressive Taipei regime. Good luck to you in your career!
I could say he is amazing, but I feel Eric that would be akin to saying you are good. Every thing you done is beyond belief, beyond slight of hand, It is just like yourself, Pure Magic, Even if you did not make number one spot at the end, you in my eyes earned your place on any world stage as the best there is. You don't have a great future ahead of you, You are in a great future right now.
I think, he is fantastic, but the last one, where everybody in the audience was seeing the table, but we did not, was a bit fishy... And if a whole lego set would appear out of thin air in front of me, my reaction would be more in awe like they actually were...

The first 2 shows were unbelievable! The best I've ever seen! Friggin real magic, it seems like! The third act was a letdown.

It takes years to prefect this kind of thing, I suspect he just ran out of content that fits the TV shows format, and had to put something together.

if you pay attention to his hands and movements you'll see how he does it, i.e. hand goes behind the table to grap the coins, etc.
