Rather than dismantling the fan just follow the wires outside to the cap or contactor and check from there. My tech showed me easy way to check compressor. Right or wrong?
Not trying to be nit picky, but saying c to s short is just not the correct terminology here. A short would indicate two wires touching that should not be if you had continuity from any winding to ground absolutely shorted compressor. However what you have here would be an open winding not a short, two different failures.

That’s awesome and thanks for commenting. I also went to tech school, but I learnt so much more out in the field. Especially in regard to customers.
Not an ac guy and don’t know anything but your videos are good! Keep up the great work!
@@andrewg8439 Thanks and I’m glad you like them 😎

That’s correct. I just did it this way because I had time.
Good work diagnosing the issue! Nice tools and setup btw
@@NicholasCampbell-c8y thank you
Another crap install that should have a trunk line with a horizontal air handler but opted for the spider variation instead
You could have checked it without taking it all apart.
@@tomoliver8498 true, but I had time that day.
Isn't it under warranty? How much did you charge
