    I learned a ton during this. Thanks very much! Regarding the 3D printed letters: I did a video recently where I used spackle and autobody filler paint to fill in the layer lines on 3D printed letters for a sign. The letters where I did that came out looking crazy smooth, especially compared to the previously unfinished option. Weren't really that hard to do, either.
    Not sure if that's old news to you or not; also not sure how useful it'd be when you have to work fast enough to turn a profit. I suspect that the process could eventually be done fast enough to use this method and still make money, but you'd know more than me about that than me! IN ANY CASE, just bringing up an example of testing it out, considering you mentioned you'd be looking into the smoothing and such eventually. Have a good one.

    I use non-skid truck-bed liner paint black with texture in it already. It’s a primer and paint in one and covers all scratches from sanding. Less work and very durable. Rust oleum is best. Nice sign

    lmao there is a way to cut expanded metal on the cnc plasma table i've done it and so have a few others. I seen a few of your videos and even talked to you in the cnc groups. But you have some nice project the only thing I see that you have not mention is vinegar dip soaking helps not having to grind as much it helps loosen up the dross & eats any mill scale or any kinda rust agent protection. But nice job on the videos.

    • @steveeparsonsjr7929
      @steveeparsonsjr7929 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also the double sided tape we used that going on 6 years now it is nice but to tell the home audience how good it really is they use it to bond car fenders onto the chassis then bolts if you've ever worked on a car fender removing it you would know what I'm talking about, excellent stuff even for layered signage.

    • @steveeparsonsjr7929
      @steveeparsonsjr7929 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I make small key chains detailed with my cnc plasma table knowing your offsets and how to use them you can get the same detail as the small 3d printed letters you printed. I'm not being ugly just sharing some knowledge if i could post some of my work in key chains I've completed & I use a Bic lighter for scaling purposes I've had hundreds of people message me and asked if I used a laser on them and they are baffled how i do it with my cnc plasma table.

    • @42Fab
      @42Fab  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, there are ways to cut expanded. Sacrificial cover sheet or a machine with that setting. I do not want to the first and don't have the second. Vinegar works fine if you have the time, I generally don't want to wait on it. The problem with details isn't chugging them, it's the cleaning/finishing afterward, many ways to skin a cat

    When gluing the studs to the other plastic parts you can try using acetone if it's ABS-plastic. Acetone will melt the ABS and it will practically combine into 1 part.
