Oh Melanie! I am SO glad to hear this. The research is all towards the benefits. I was pressured to get off the estrogen asap after my hysterectomy. I stuck to my patch like glue and now my drs are glad I hung onto the hormones. Your story is the norm! Welcome to a lower risk of cancer, dementia, heart disease, stroke and fractures. The benefits eliminate the very risks they used to think were from hormone replacement. It’s the exact opposite. 21 years ago they were so worried. Now the drs who are up on the real research are happy to oblige. How many lives and marriages were ruined in those years. My migraines have all but disappeared too!
❤❤❤ best news ever! So happy for you. Wish more drs would get on board with us women! We are not asking for much, just to feel like a damn human again and supplementing us with the hormones we lack is the first step! It shouldn’t be that hard!
This is so great!!! My doc just switched me over to the patch (I’m on estrogen only because my uterus had been previously confiscated at age 36.) It is absolutely like night and day. I feel fabulous. Women should not have to suffer if we don’t want to! I am so happy for you!!!

So crazy you posted this today! Today was my big appointment. My ultrasound revealed a complex cyst on my left ovary. My doctor also thinks I’m probably anemic again. We did a complete blood workup and I’ll know results next week. BUT! As long as there are no markers for cancer from my bloodwork, my Dr is open to HRT even though I have a blood clotting disorder. I’ve done my research which is now saying the patch is ok for those with my type of blood clotting disorder. Because I was armed with info, my doctor said, although she’s never given HRT to a patient with a blood clotting disorder, she’s willing to look into it further for me! All-in-all, I’d call that a super productive appointment. I’m not freaking out about the complex cyst, I’m just so thankful to have a caring, cooperative physician and a game plan. Thank God!! Glad to hear you are doing so well. 😊
Melanie, I am so happy that you are happy! Your face looks rested and vibrant! I did not want to extend any feedback earlier to you when you were wrestling with the idea of HRT but now that you have moved forward in trying it, I feel more comfortable giving my positive feedback. I suffer from a neurological disease that affects one's hormones and was placed on HRT 25 years ago. I have had no adverse reactions, only positive. In fact, 8 years ago I went through some extensive surgery, 18 hours of surgery. I was told by this famous surgeon who did my surgery that I was a candidate only because I did NOT suffer the typical bone loss of someone my age and this was due to the HRT I had been on for many years! For me, it gave me my life back because it made such a drastic difference for me in my quality of life. I am so happy for you because I know how you struggled and to see the brightness in your face just warms my heart.
I am feeling so much better Michelle! What an absolute game changer for me personally. I look forward to reaping the benefits long term as well. Thank you for your kind words!
So glad you’re feeling better. Let me tell you I turned 50 in October and after having my thyroid removed and then hitting perimenopause I’m about completely done! My hormones are so fucked! You’ve convinced me to talk to the dr when I go the middle of the month. I am so sick of hearing well you know you’re a woman of that age …
I am so glad you are starting to feel better,Nothing like being miserable, I suffered with premenopausal and menopause for almost 20 years, It makes you feel like you’re going nuts,Some Doctors just give you stuff you shouldn’t be taking and making things worse, I just had to suck it up and deal with it 😮😢Boy did I suffer,Some people just don’t understand unless they’re going through it.🥺
So happy to hear you're getting relief. I go in a couple of weeks for my first hormone level check after getting my first dose of pellets early December. I'll get the second dose in February. I'm hoping they'll start making a major difference with the next cycle or two.
I just started mine about a month ago and am also feeling soooooo much better!! After a year of asking for it, and finally going to a specialist. Why do we have to fight so hard for this?!
Been on the patch for 3 years had to adjust patch one time stronger dose my dr said don't expect to never have menopause symptoms just to make them not so often and severe .
Hi Melanie, I’m so glad you’re feeling better on the HRT! I believe you should be changing your patch twice a week though. Maybe I missed it, but I thought you said once a week. That’s the usual recommended dose regimen, but maybe there is a reason your Doctor said once a week. I don’t want to pry into your business. Just something to consider. Going through Menopause is definitely not for the weak! Take care and best wishes for you and through this journey. 😊❤
My particular patch is a weekly one, not twice weekly. It’s making such a big difference ❤️ from what I’ve read is that the weekly patches actually provide better long term absorption. Might want to check that out if you are in twice weekly patches. Less side effects too.
@ oh wow!! I didn’t know they had once a week patches. I may need to ask my Gynecologist about this at my next appointment. That would make things so much easier!!!! Thanks for the information!!!
Hello Melanie. If I may, I’m a 77yr female and was diagnosed with Oestrogen receptive breast cancer eight weeks ago. Fortunately for me it was tiny in size, had only spread into two lymph nodes and has been removed. 70% of breast cancers in women are Oestrogen receptive. My body has still continued to make Oestrogen 25+ years after it should have stopped. For anyone taking HRT Oestrogen only and are post menopausal, please, I advise you get bloods done to see how much oestrogen you have in your system before taking it. There are other alternatives to HRT. I now have to take Oestrogen blocker for another five years at least (crazy at my age) which should prevent another tumour growing. Have a talk with a breast doctor if you have concerns, they have answers for you. Pauline Downing.

Omg! Such good news! HRT was life changing for me ❤
So happy for you! 👏🏻👏🏻❤️🙏🏻
It only gets better !
Great fast results! Do you still use minoxidil or just iron supplements for hair growth?
I've been taking progesterone and doing testosterone pellets for 2 months and I feel so much better. I'm glad you are too ❤
