I see before me a "Silk Purse". However, I gotta admit, when you drug out a box of pig ears I never thought... It's more than your technical prowess, you also have that rare "artistic eye" that so many of us lack. Once shown to me I can replicate - but the original ways you envision your crafts, IMPRESSIVE. Be it pirates, ship wrecks, cars, trucks, boats or monsters you are able to intuit the successful outcomes by using your "visions". It is a real pleasure to follow you on your brief, but fully packed journeys through the styrene world. Thank you for sharing...
I got 4 of these at Walmart a while back, made 3 as PDF and 1 as a surrey. I agree, an extremely pleasant build. No surprises (except for the quality) and exceptional for the price and age of the molds. 1968, if Scalemates is correct, almost the same age as the movie!
I got this for xmas 2019, and wifey felt bad is was a jeep instead of Godzilla. Still it's a nice piece to have ! I'm grateful for getting it even if it was just the jeep and and a paper Godzilla. great videos man
I love it! You mentioned it's not going to be Army accurate; guess what...it does not have to be...ha,ha,ha! It is a fictional vehicle from a movie. You could have painted it Adventure Team yellow, purchased AT logos from Patches of Pride, and had them supporting whomever else was attacking. I love your take on things, keep it up!
This is a reboxed Hogan's Hero's jeep! Too bad no figures! For a WW2 jeep add a bit of scrap plastic for the cable cutter and the braket for the M-1 carbine. Also makes a nice diorama piece for Airfix 1/24th aircraft models. One more thought make a suped up version and call it Patton's Rod to go with Rommel's Rod!
This I had been rather dubious for being cheesy over the monster movie shtick. It looks to be rather better than I had anticipated. Chris, you had mentioned that the Jeep model is in 1:25th scale. If anyone prefers a more accurate replica, some years back, Hasegawa had produced an excellent, highly detailed one. One would have to determine if the big weapon--my guess is that this is a bazooka mounted on a pedestal for stability--would mount properly through trial and error; and perhaps a bit of scratch-building. I do not know about the surrey. Including it would add contrast to the rest. One major element is missing; but I lack the skills to resolve it. Chris, could you scratch-build me a Gorzilla in the same scale as the Jeep, please?
Looks great - not a surprise though. All your builds are fantastic, and the best part is that you always provide time-and cost-saving tips for us that help a huge amount! My wife and I have always been HUGE Godzilla fans, so this year for her birthday I ordered the 16" Polar Lights Godzilla kit from Monsters in Motion. Once I placed the order I found that their cheapest shipping (4 days FedEx) is more than half the cost of the model itself ($28.17). Then after waiting a few days, I had to log into their website to check on my order (the website is a cluttered mess) only to find that it's on "Re-Order" (there was no indication when I placed the order that it was not in stock), whatever that means; I'm assuming it's their term for 'backorder' (or with my luck, 'never available again'). It's "available" from Squadron for the same price, presumably for considerably less shipping, but as is typical with Squadron it is "Available for Order" which in their convoluted terminology means they don't have it, and if you even manage to place an order for it they will automatically cancel it for you without any forenotice. You just get a terse email from them stating your order has been cancelled, and that is that. So apparently the people who hold the copyright to Godzilla figures are bound and determined to get fans to only have access to their vinyl figurine line, which cost hundreds. I have no idea what the shipping costs of autoworldstore are, but I'm going to do my level best to cancel my existing order and take my chances with other sites' shipping once it finally comes out (again?) in June. So instead of a gift for my wife's birthday, I might have a gift for myself on Father's Day. Hey, whatever works, right?
Thanks for watching. Autoworldstore.com will have a flat rate shipping as far as I know, I think it's $9.99 on any size order. They are the retail outlet for the parent company of MPC, AMT, Polar Lights and Lindberg, which is Round2 Models.
Beautiful results! I'm strongly considering buying one for myself! Honestly, I've always wanted the 24 TWIN ROCKET CAR model. I don't even know if it was ever made for sale in hobby shops. But nonetheless, this is a beautiful build! Kudos sir!
Pretty cool kit! I don't fear Godzilla trying to destroy my kit stash! I have two cats to defend it and one of them is a master kunochi! She will easily take him down if he tries anything! ^^
the weird part of this kit is that if you to build;d the surrey version it has the chrome hub caps ,but when you buy the Hogan's kit and want to build the surrey version that kit only had only 1 chrome hub cap . by the way Awesome build
I really wouldn't want to go toe to claw with Godzilla, armed with only a recoiless rifle! 😲🐲 The Japanese soldiers in your diorama must have felt the same way, and went AWOL. 😂
I remember ordering a 7'6'' Frankenstein with glowing eyes from the back of a comic book one time. Was disappointed it was just printed on a poly vinyl sheet the glowing eyes were just 2 small stickers of glow in the dark material. I was duped, then again I was only 7. Guess maybe some of the guys didn't order Frankenstein as kids. P.S. Just curious if anyone ever ordered that realistic submarine life size play set from the comics? Just what did you get?
nice build, i like the different color you chose for the chassis to break up the olive drab. only pic i could find of the willys jeep in the movie was this one. (the third one has the gun) imcdb.org/vehicle_213378-Willys-MB--Jeep-.html
Just started on one of these and now I'm doubly grateful for your video, since the instructions are a bit vague about the placement of some parts.
Thanks Phil!
This has to be one of your
most fun builds to date.
Thanks, it was!
My two favorite things godzilla and model kits
Well stay tuned, something BIG is coming up!

Oooooo nooooo..... There goes Tokyo. God, God, God Godzilla!!!! Once again. Cool build. 👍😁
Thanks Dan!
COOL! You should put some wire for the power lines from the free standing tower to the middle tower.
A most enjoyable instructional video. Well done!
Thanks!

I am buying the kit tomorrow! Great build and review. Thanks
Hope you enjoy it!
Cool looking kit ! Great Review
Thanks Charles!
Finally got around to ordering one - thinking of using silver thread for power wires. Hope mine turns out as nice as yours!

Very nice!
Thanks again for a great build. I've built the jeep years ago.. it is a very good kit and with a little work could be even better.
Thanks G D!
Totally OUTSTANDING build and presentation Chris!! Contrasting O D colors is a great idea, very cool diaroma from Round2!!!
Thanks a lot Ron!

A fun package - have seen almost all the Godzilla/Gojira films and the Aurora Godzilla was the first ever monster kit I made when I was about eight!
That's cool!
Kool diorama scene luv The Godzilla
Thanks Malik!
I thought I'd seen and heard all that Godzilla stuff!!! I've never heard of Godzilla as the Astro monster before...
Best part was, I came out of the shop after this video was all done and a Godzilla movie was on. Yes!
@@hpiguy That's hilarious!!! I have that kind of luck sometimes (rarely but sometimes)...
Looks great Chris
Thanks Charlie!

Said it before, say it again man ALL of your videos art just SO entertaining!!! Thanks again for this awesome video dude!
Sorry, I meant "ARE"
Thanks a lot Jeff, it's all about FUN, afterall this is a hobby!
Now I know what you meant about Gozirra....I never even knew that movie existed lol !
Brilliant build as always dude
Thanks a lot Gary!
So neat - love the movies and love this.
Thank you!
Looks like a great kit can't wait to build it myself keep up the great vedios
It's a fun and easy build up! Thanks!
Gotta build the Godzilla now lol
Yup, I hope to get a review copy for the show.
GO ZIRRA but no men, dang. Lol, that 1st music clip sounded like an old game show theme! :-) cool model! I amazed at the 1/25 scale!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome EVERYTHING on The Jeep, KUTAW Chris n God Bless All
Thanks a lot Gary!
I had this in the Hogans Heroes it also came with off road parts but nothing said in the instructions
Very very VERY cool! Somehow I've never even heard of this kit. Excellent work!
Thanks! I've seen it issued as just the Jeep and for some reason never built it. I was missing out!
Great video with a good kit, I love the trivia in the videos.
Thanks for watching David!
Just did two of these jeeps for Rat Patrol. They were fun.
I thought that the Godzilla figure, would be included. It would be awesome... Nice build as always.
A 1:25 scale Godzilla would be about 6 foot 7.
Thanks Jefferson!
now that's a cool kit not only 2 versions of the jeep but you get the Godzilla cut out too
Lots of stuff in the box from R2!
Fantastic!! Love it!! Thanks for sharing Chris...
Thanks a lot Mike, as always!
This was a cool kit, nice build!...Bill
Thanks Bill!
I just got this kit, just for the Jeep, and have no use or desire to use the Godzilla diorama. Would you be interested in a second Godzilla diorama?
No thanks, I don't accept items from viewers, feel free to assemble it and give to a kid you know for the fun. :)
Very cool.
Thanks!

Thank you, and thanks for watching the video and leaving a nice comment! Much appreciated!
Really a nice jeep kit. Could use a little weathering though.
It is nice, weathering is a personal choice.
The Jeeps in the movies always look pretty clean so that's how I chose to do it.
I’m just a random 14 year old looking Godzilla for stuff in Walmart and decided to get this.
I’m not at all prepared to do this
And to think I watched King Kong vs Godzilla last night fun build Chris.
Right? Godzilla vs Mothra came on just as I took the last pics. Thanks!
Awesome!
Thanks!
Nice work !I was hoping that the kit would include a real plastic Godzilla.
The big Godzilla kit diorama is being issued this Summer, it's about 16 inches tall and I hope to get a copy for the show.
@@hpiguy The big one is a nice kit. I have 2 originals in my stash so looks like time to bring one out and build it.
nice 👍
Thanks!
That is so cool, great work right there. Keep up the great work and have a great day.
Thanks Chopper!
Any one know the wheelbase of this ?
The Surrey version could replicate the Elvis Jeep in Blue Hawaii.
Sure!
I really wouldn't want to go toe to claw with Godzilla, armed with only a recoiless rifle! 😲🐲 The Japanese soldiers in your diorama must have felt the same way, and went AWOL. 😂
Love your enthusiasm but am sad that Godzilla is just a folded cardboard backdrop. Keep doing what you do. I enjoy watching your videos!!
Thanks Alex!
@@hpiguy But with so many huge Godzilla toys out there hmmmm.
Why was everyone expecting a 6 foot tall plastic Godzilla model in a 8*6 inch box??
Inflatable? ;)
LOL, who knows. the dio is cool as is! Now we need a Mothra on a stick!

Just saw one today
Hey by any chance do you know the dimension of the jeep and the Godzilla cutout? I just ordered one and I'm looking to get a Godzilla to go with it
Awesome
Thanks!
I'd buy this just for the cardboard backdrop - nice job/review choice.
And did you say "Hong Kong movies"? 🤣
I may have, thanks for watching!
I have 2 of them
Some BOC in the background.
i bought this thinking it was a godzilla toy 😅
Gord zira 😲 awwwwww it's paper gutted 😢
R2 has a nice big plastic Godzilla dio due out soon that I hope to get and build for the show!
@@hpiguy sounds good mate, you get models I never see in the UK, so every build is exciting to me 👍
Gojira, is how it is pronounced in Japan, ゴジラ
Oh noes, Rodzirra!!!!!
nice build, i like the different color you chose for the chassis to break up the olive drab.
only pic i could find of the willys jeep in the movie was this one. (the third one has the gun)

Cool!
I'm a bit disappointed, when I heard this was being released, I assumed that Godzilla was also in plastic, not a cardboard cut out. Bummer.
I have great news for you. Skip to the 11:00 minute mark in the linked video...
th-cam.com/video/0IenX1oNUqc/w-d-xo.html
Joe is right, I'm hoping to get that big Godzilla dio for the show as well!
@@hpiguy I knew about the big G kit, it's that I thought this kit had a smaller, plastic one like the old Aurora glow in the dark kit.
Planetary Defense Force was the precursor to Trump's United States Space Force. 😁
Very misleading product design!
In what way?
