Pain's Heaven Path has some very long technique names when translated to English
Shinra Tensei (Almighty Push) means Heavenly Subjugation of the Omnipresent God
Bansho Tenin (Univeral Pull) means Heavenly Attraction of All Creation
Japanese is very weird, since the same word can mean different things depending on where or how you write it,
Shinra Tensei could mean Divinities Reincarnation, for example,

I get what Shikamaru's dad is saying...but you'd think that a sneak attack Shadow possession jutsu or mind transfer jutsu from Ino's dad, however brief, would be helpful.
he could probably hold down one pain, but only for a very short ammount of time as pain is a lot stronger than him. it would probably still be helpful, but after the surprise is over naruto would have to defend extra people and watch where he uses his attacks so he wont hurt someone from the village

And people say Naruto isn’t strategic. This fight proved em wrong.
The only reason any of that works is because he's the main character lmfao and Pain is dumbed down. Just like a brilliant fighter like Kakuzu was outsmarted by a simple shadow clone trick.
Kakashi and Jiraiya couldn't outsmart him that much but Naruto out of the sudden is a genius bigger than them.
Win Articles I get the Kazuzu bit, that was kinda bull, but with the latest two, Naruto also had intel thanks to both of those losing to Pain. I'm sure if Jiraiya had that, and with some prep time (to ensure not to go against all six at the same time) he would have solo'ed Pain no problem.
Actually Jiraya just didn't have the intel he needed. He may could have won with it ( Probably not but at least he would have a chance ). As for Kakashi, well he did outsmart Pain in some ways actually, but it just wasn't enough. Also even if Naruto is not really the strategic guy to begin with and even if it's not a character I like that much, must admit that he gives us a pretty good fight here, on a tactical and strategical level. And Pain is already weakened at this point. Fightning a Sage after so many skirmishes, revivals and a giant Shinra Tensei ...
Naruto always had his strategic moments. He's been surprising high level ninjas since Zabuza.
Naruto is an idiot we can all agree on that but when things go south he is a battle genius, konohas number one hyperactive knucklehead ninja strikes again with a great strategy

2:28 Naruto’s normal levels of chakra are barely enough to use the Rasenshuriken twice, but with all this extra power from Sage Mode he can make them full-strength without risk. It’s a lot bigger than when he first learned it.

Btw a sage mode rasengan is multiple times stronger than a regula one. This damage boost also applies for all ninjutsu and Taijutsu in sage mode. This makes naruto pretty damn OP from what used to be just "knucklehead ninja"
4:47 with Sage Mode active, Naruto can sense these guys, so he doesnt need to see to know where they are. He can fight in total darkness.
Sasuke is easily the best character in the series when you know you’re in a room with nothing but a couch, but you can’t see, you’re still too blind to just leap onto the couch... Naruto doesn’t need to see to hit his opponent. It was definitely planned, but that doesn’t remove the necessity for being able to detect what you’re hitting.

Y'know, I always wondered how the last body could keep up, but it's like limbs, if you try to control both your arms and your legs in battle your, I think the word is, efficiency will suffer, you'll start fighting worse and worse, but if you concentrate on one part of the body, say, your legs, you'll be fighting a lot better than before, you're less spread thin and you're more solid than if you were to try to use every single part of your body

Part of why I was so invested in Naruto is because I watched it over the span of 12 years but, sometimes, I wish I was like Curtis coming in with fresh eyes after the show was already done. Binge watching in months is fun.
This is easily the best arc in Naruto Shippuden.
While I have the utmost respect for Naruto's cunning and trickery, the issues I have always had with it is that his enemies always fall for it. Kakuzu, for example, is over 90 years old but gets tricked because Naruto hides among his clones? Are you trying to tell me that he never experienced anything like this in all those decades he spend as a ninja? It's like experience counts for nothing in some of those cases.

Leodanys Perez That is true, no question about it. In Kakuzu's case, there is even room to argue about the panic he felt when he barely escaped from Naruto's first Rasenshuriken. But even so I still feel like experience is a bit ridiculed in some instances.

ImperialistOpinions uve got to take into account expectation. Kakazu and pain obviously did not think naruto was capable of pulling off a trick so u lower your ground.
Both pure underestimated Naruto. They see him as a child, in Pains case he see's himself above Naruto in all aspects because he was a student of Jiraiya before him and he's survived a war, got the rinnegan and become strong, in his eyes Naruto has done nothing because he doesn't know him. So thats why he falls for those tricks.
In the case of Kakuza its purely become of two things, he is so old that everyone is a mere brat to him so he highly underestimates everyone and two when Naruto first surprised him he panicked, switched this tactic and felt fear for the first time in a long time. This was his downfall.
The reason you keep hearing the train in every video is because the trains want you to know true pain.

I figured it would be something about the shadow clones, I just expected it to be the opposite. i.e., he has shadow clones fighting in sage mode while he himself hides in a hole in the ground or something, lol.

Just realised that after this fight, had Sasuke returned to the leaf village at this time, prior to the Bee kidnapping then both him and Naruto would have been held as heroes of the leaf that single handedly (between them) had taken out the Akatsuki. Sasuke took out top Bingo book contendors like Orochimaru, Deidara and Itachi (Particularly Itachi whom no one else would have a hope against) and Naruto with Pain. If we include all of Team 7, i.e Sakura, then you can throw Sasori in there too. Funny how one random team of Genin who were not even acknowledged by the Akatsuki basically eradicated all of their members.
Naruto also took out Kakuzu too, might as well add him to the pile,

It’s amazing how long it takes for Naruto to use the same clone trick for different methods though, it’s the same solution over and over.

Maybe you can check out Gintama when you finish Naruto. It has lots of humor, fourth wall breaks and parodies, basically the anime Deadpool. But when it gets serious it goes all out and does serious arcs better than most serious shows. It doesn't get the same attention as the big mainstream anime but it's so good and worth watching.

I am honestly not a big fan of these series, not because it's bad, but just because of the sheer number of Filler Arcs that this series contains (case in point, Last 72 or so episodes of the original were all filler). But the scene where Naruto finds out Kakashi sensei died is kinda powerful. First, his parents die (Curtis already watched where Naruto meets his dad's spirit), then he gets neglected by the majority of the village (Third Hokage, Iruka, and Ichiraku Ramen guy are the only ones to treat him with a modicum of respect, with Team 7 eventually following suit). He then sees what his life would have been like if these people had never been in his life, by looking at Gaara. Hiruzen dies. Sasuke defects. Jiraiya dies (Jiraiya was named Naruto's god father, because Naruto was named after a character in one of his books) and then Kakashi dies. And his home is destroyed. Oh, and I would include Hinata in the group of people that always respected Naruto, but while she never treated him like the rest of the village, she was too shy to say anything. Iruka was a brother figure to Naruto, but had to be strict on him, because Iruka was a teacher, and Naruto was a troublemaker. Sorry for the rant. MAKE KONOHA KABUTO-LESS AGAIN!

In all honesty, the Neji fight might have been the first showing of Naruto really using strategy and having cloak and dagger moves. Especially the finisher.
Ryan R I'd say Naruto freeing kakashi from Zabuza was the first evidence of his strategic abilities. The entirety of his fight against kiba was one as well.
see i'm not so sure i would stay that. i really feel like in the Neji fight, he continuously was coming up with strategies and adjusting on the fly a lot quicker. the kiba fight you caught glimpses, but it took a fart for him to win there.
Ryan R I can described his fight with kiba the same way though, continuously coming up with strategies on the fly. Also, to say a fart was the only reason he won is like me saying the nine tails power is the only reason he won against neji.

Curtis, later on there are some episodes about itachi and his backstory, but I think they're filler, but I'm not 100% sure. Even if they are I think that they're still worth watching.
Collin Schaferling They're from Itachi Shinden, one of the Light Novels made after the manga finished. They're technically considered canon, although I take them with a grain of salt because they have some weird things here and there. So yeah. Itachi's stuff is kinda canonish.

He can fire a max of 3 right now. He only fired 2 so he is still ok for a little while before needing to summon another clone.
