    Bellagio is a great location and have stayed several times, but they are a victim of their own success…so many people are in the lobby/conservatory and walking through the casino after the foundation shows that it takes away from the luxury/exclusivity feel. I spend a lot of time at the pool during my visits and Bellagio’s pool complex, while beautiful, is overcrowded. Josh also shares one of my complaints with Bellagio…the lack of mid-tier dining (especially for breakfast). Cafe Bellagio used to be a good option but they closed it. I also think Noodles is being closed for upgrades at the end of this month so hopefully it remains “mid-tier” when it reopens. My go-to places now for luxury and a relaxing pool experience is either Waldorf or Wynn Tower Suites (waldorf rooms are nice but not the biggest, so Wynn is my current favorite). Great review-keep them
    coming!

    I hate the showers too, that's where the tub used to be, it's hard to keep up with the newer casino rooms when it's 25 years old. Among the best things are the overall ambience, size of the property, the fountains and the conservatory. Now that's it's connected to Cosmo I think the two hotels make a perfect 1 2 punch where you can alternate between modern, high energy and classical elegance and scale. Hopefully Cosmo rooms will get the Bellagio fountain music soon since it's now owned by MGM. Great video!

    Bellagio is our all-time favorite, and we've stayed at them all. As frequent visitors to Vegas, we have to agree with Rachel on this one! Not overrated. :) but, I do understand a lot of the points you made on both sides. However, we were surprised you didn't mention our favorite place in the Bellagio, The Vault, the new speakeasy. It is a must stop for us every time we are there. Love your videos!! Thanks for the great content!

    Bellagio is my favorite las vegas place to stay. Your review is spot on. I agree that the herds of people walking through with no spacial awareness is quite annoying. Stay off the path and walk on the outerside of the casino. Way less people. I also started staying in the Spa Tower. I love it. It's quieter and is conveniently located by the indoor walkways to Cosmo and Vdara. If I want something affordable to eat, I go to the Cosmo food court, or I cut through vdara to Aria. Also, the conservatory has gone downhill IMO. Lots of large figures surrounded by flowers. They try to space them out so that it looks like more than it is. It didn't used to be that way. The awe of it was that the figures were made of flowers. And there are way too many people packed in the conservatory. But hey, it's one of the very few attractions that is free in Vegas and it's doing what it's supposed to do...Bring people in. Don't forget about the gorgeous Chaluilly glass above the lobby. Now that never gets old.

    I'm coming in late to leave a comment and I liked your video a lot Josh and Rachael. The Bellagio is the most luxurious, beautiful and iconic resort in all of Las Vegas. Unfortunately theirs no way i could ever stay there because it's too expensive for me. All my Las Vegas trips I've only stayed at Circus Circus and regardless what other people say it's not that bad. Great video Josh and Rachael😊

    I agree about the heavy foot traffic between the check in and guest elevators. It can be so thick at times especially when you just want to get to your room. People walk so slow and once the booze kicks in they just kind of stand there staring at the black jack and roulette tables. Also, I never found Noodles restaurant. I saw the overhead sign for it but when I walked in that direction I didn't see it. Sadelle's isn't bad for breakfast especially if you are traveling solo. One can also walk to the Cosmopolitan via the Bellagio and I like the "Secret" Pizza place there. There is also a good ramen shop across the street called Ramen-Ya between the Horseshoe and E Flamingo Rd. And then there are the restaurants at Caesars next door which can be accessed through Bellagio. And then there is the tram to Aria and MGM / Park. Lastly, they hit you with that security deposit which I think is BS but that's a Vegas thing and I get it that some people rip up the rooms.

    There used to be a really cool nightclub called Light. It was to the left of Snacks with an upward escalator entrance that took you up to the club. Not sure when it closed but glad I got to experience it. I'm surprised they don't bring it back. It was always a super fun time.

      Interesting!
      1 Bellagio sounds like it's crowded in a bad way. Like, a lot of people just walking through it makes it sound like a busy airport. Also, tons of people taking pictures of the fountains and observatory 24/7 sounds annoying too.
      2 But, isn't the whole LV Strip like this? How much worse is the Bellagio?

    I must be getting old, I stay away from center strip as much as possible.. Never stayed at Bellagio but have always liked checking out the Chinese new year display. Vdara used to be my go to, but now Ive moved up north on the strip to Encore or Crockfords.
    I value the less chaotic nature of the north end, I also feel MGM and Cesars is in some unspoken contest in a race to the bottom when it comes to diluting status, nickel and dime fees, mediocre service all the while keeping their prices high

    After going to Vegas for over 24 years, I stayed at the Bellagio for the first time in Jun. There are some areas that need an upgrade. Especially the sports book and bar. Prime steak was so good I went twice. I feel like they need a casino lounge better than the baccarat bar. My king room had a huge bathroom with a closed off toilet. It was fun, but l probably won't stay there again. I'll just visit the conservatory and eat at the nice restaurants.

    • @JoshRachael
      @JoshRachael  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I forgot to mention the Sports Book is one of the worst from my experience. Almost all the seats are reserved that can actually watch events there and there aren’t many. Yea the free public amenities are the best but no need to stay to enjoy them

  • @PaulEHill928
    @PaulEHill928 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Think I have to side with Josh on this one. Location is the advantage they have over most. (And pool) The fountains and conservatory are great, but it's not like you have to stay there to enjoy them. My biggest negative is I always feel like I'm getting bumped around or run over moving around there. You're also right on dining. Multiple destination places, but again...don't need to stay there to enjoy those. I'd just rather have to travel a little for the fine dining. Kind of need some quickie cheap options near where I sleep. That being said...I don't dislike bellagio, but for the same comp level I'd rather stay at cosmo or aria and for better comps park. All a quick walk now with walkway (and tram) to go do the bellagio things. The pool difference isn't enough to make me stay at bellagio over the others. The boozy dole whips taste the same everywhere. Lol

Get all the cool Bellagio stuff besides the fountains (Can see later) without the cost of staying there.

    Hi Josh and Rachel,
    I have a hate / love relationship w/ Bellagio; As you said , the (free ) drink service seems more frequent but then again the foot traffic is busier then any mall in Canada 😂 I love the overall decor , but agree the rooms need to be up to the standards as, say, the Wynn. That being said, we are treated well at Bellagio w/ free upgrades overlooking the fountains and room service was good to us ; however, the low end “daily food” options have drastically gone down hill , while the Dining Options are still great w/ Fountain view Dining , Yellowtail Japanese ( so good! ) Prime Steakhouse and the The Mayfair Supper Club ; all awesome and entertaining . Of course the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is always a treat.
    Nevertheless, I was saddened to hear Chef Julian Serrano would be retiring; and his revered restaurant at Bellagio, Picasso, would close. Sad news for the Chef community, but happy to hear he’s retiring, just like me ( I’m retired now) ! ( it’s fun catering high end culinary entrees but there’s a time to say , it’s enough) I will miss his culinary expertise for sure ; and his warm quail salad with sautéed artichokes and pine nuts. ( You know how hard it is to debone Quail 😂)
    Thank you for sharing- Cheers Chef Bari ( PS : I hear Bellagio is expanding )

    When you stay somewhere that’s supposed to be elevated, you kind of expect elevated. I walked into a hotel in New York City in 2003 that back then was $350 a night… The lobby was extraordinary… Got upstairs to the room and it was like a motel six.

    Another great, honest and thoughtful piece. I felt the Bellagio was ‘tired’ when I passed through in May. The Atrium is amazing and iconic (at 5:30am it’s almost your own fantasy garden) and as a first time visitor to LV I felt I had to wander around the hotel, tick off the ‘must see’ locations, which I enjoyed but left realising I wouldn’t rush back to.
    The comparisons to other premium hotels are something we have also done, and come to the conclusion that there are half a dozen we would choose over the Bellagio.

    You can tell the goal of Bellagio was to cut corners on those room renovations and they succeeded. People who don’t know any better or don’t know about the old rooms with the tubs 🛁 would be fooled into thinking they are nice rooms. The prices they charge people for a basic room with NO view is messed up. I have a bad feeling they will be running the Cosmopolitan into the ground soon as well.

    I can't justify the price of the rooms if all they're going to make a point of are 1. location 2. the visual amenities 3. luxury architecture. Because beyond that, I can't debate why this resort would be Upper $100 or more on weekdays and $300-$500 on weekends.
    I get it if it requires a certain age/salary range demographic but if i feel like i always have to be dressed in boat shoes and a polo just to be walking the grounds meanwhile there are 100s of families passing through... Think you're being a tad harsh here. I I stayed here twice in the last two years in the fountain view room and loved the remodeling. The color scheme works, the furniture is clean with no nicks (Caesars, take note), and I like the big shower. I agree it's odd for a hotel of this caliber that there is not a separate water closet in the bathroom, but nothing can beat that amazing view. You're right the casino is smoky, but I love that lobby bar. This is really classic modern Vegas. My biggest gripe is they got rid of the 21 and over policy so now you have these jerks bringing small children into the hotel.

In the old days you had to walk thru the casino to get to anywhere in the hotel. You had the casino and everything else was off the casino floor. Don't need to stay at a high end place. Am subscribed. Not a pool person. Not a nightclub person either or do I like bars. No one really needs a car in Las Vegas unless you live there. Going 0500 hours is good. I enjoyed the video. It’s fun to hear different perspectives. I am a Bellagio fan, and I do agree that the restaurants are all on the higher end in terms price, but that is the clientele they are aiming to attract. It would be like getting upset that Excalibur doesn’t have any fine dining restaurants. You also don’t see any cheaper restaurants at Wynn/Encore. It’s all about the type of customer the hotels are looking to attract.

    • @JoshRachael
      @JoshRachael  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally understand where you are coming from but would say that places like Charlie’s, Allegro, Red 8 and Wazuzu all fill a spot at Wynn Encore that Bellagio lacks for the price point.
      Also while Bellagio wants to attract all the big spenders the congestion of people who are not big spenders with free attractions and throughway aspect takes away from that argument for me

      @@JoshRachael Yes, the congestion of all the tourists coming through the lobby and other parts of the Bellagio is definitely an annoyance. As far as those other restaurants you mentioned at Wynn, I agree that they aren’t necessarily fine dining places, but they aren’t exactly cheap/affordable for your average tourist. • @JoshRachael

    Oh, my...I don't know if there is a length limit on comments but I have so much to share. LOL! I stay at Bellagio pretty much every time I go to Vegas (and especially now that Mirage is closed). I also have sentimental memories from when my husband was alive and we would enjoy so many fountain shows together. The fountains are the ONLY place in the world where I feel like I am "visiting" his spirit, and I know it's because it's sun + water, but I feel like he is the one sending down the double rainbows. Now, for recent trips, I have had some issues as well. First, let me explain that I have health issues. I have to be on oxygen if my levels are low, and need to sleep with oxygen at night. I also have to travel with a scooter, and cannot walk any distance at all without the scooter without the oxygen going low. Lastly, I am a smoker! I know, I know, but the oxygen needs and the smoking are two separate health issues (i.e. the smoking is not what is causing the oxygen problems). Phew. That said, I always get a fountain view room on 19th floor (smoking level). During the day, I charge the oxygen in the bathroom, and if I am in the room and want to smoke, I shut the bathroom door. So I'm not going to blow up. When the oxygen is in the main room, I am not smoking. I want my music to the fountains, so I have the TV channel set. Issues I have had are some the same as yours -- availability of lower-cost eating at the times I need to eat (diabetic and need to eat at certain hours!). When I go to the high-end restaurants, I am a party of 1 and so every restaurant tries to make me sit at the bar. If I just ordered room service, there is a $100 minimum. If I want to eat on the patio outside at PRIME, there is a $175 minimum. I do enjoy the buffet, but they can't decide whether to open or close for dinner. I thought they were open for dinner, but when I went in March, they were closed. Now I see they are back open for dinner (I think they started back up in June). Often, I just order food from wherever and take it up to the room on my scooter. Lago Shrimp Cocktail is sometimes a nightly event. I've also taken an entire PRIME dinner up there. I like the food at Sadelle's, but service there is hit or miss (more often miss). Do you know if it costs extra to reserve the conservatory garden table? I would like to eat there, but don't know if they would even take a reservation for 1 person. In March, I had housekeeping issues. Had leftover food in the room from dinner, was away all day and they never came to clean room. It smelled by the time I came back and then they acted put out when they had to make a trip just to take the food and bring clean glasses to the room. The other days when they DID come to clean, I had the oxygen tank on the charger plugged in the bathroom, and they unplugged it while cleaning, so I came back to the room and the oxygen wasn't charged. I did complain at check-out and as a result, got my resort fees (I'm only Platinum level) waived and they comped the rest of my meals. I still love the lobby and conservatory and the whole vibe. Oh, one last funny story and I promise I will end! I was there during last year's cyber-attack when nothing was working and most slots were down. I never won even $1,000 at one time during the trip. I only had $5,000 coin in. It was my only Vegas trip of that year. I ran my Win/Loss statement at the end of the year and it said that I won $277,000. NOT! Anyway, as always, love your videos!
