Hey guys, I have been noticing a lot of comments lately about things that I have covered in various other video’s, so I put together this tips sort of video to cover some of these topics in a sort of review format!
When it comes to purchasing mats from TP, the big reason is always convenience. The first tip is 100% true, but I think it’s worth mentioning that with this knowledge in mind the best thing is to buy a bunch of the base raw materials since you don’t want to go out and collect it yourself.
yo MR 5 Head, First of all: Thank you for all the amazing content you provide. I am playing NW since launch and YT says i watched literally every video you ever uploaded. Love your work alot. I have to disagree on your first point tho where you said "never buy T5 mats". The point you make with "creating mats out of thin air" surely is right, but the market prices do take that into account almost every time. here is an example from ym server (Tartarus): Lets take the ore tree: Prices: iron ore 0.5 Starmetal Ore 1.1 Ori-Ore: 1.4 charcoal: 0,5 Flux: 0,3 Chance of mutliple Iron ingots in craft (w/o smelter set for general purposes): 20% steel 93% starmetal 40% Orichalcum 13% So for example: crafting 100 Iron Ingots costs 4x100 ore (0.5g each)=200gold but yields 130 ingots. those ingots do not sell for 2gold tho (4x iron ore) but for 1.7gold, bringing total value of 221 gold (small profit). To make the scale bigger and show the flaw in your statement, we have to look at the Orichalcum Ingots on my server, which go for 23g. Your are right that usually it would take way more material than it actually does to produce said Ingot ( 8 Ori-ore, 12 sm-ore and 24 iron ore +charcoal and flux), but the market takes the surplus of craft already in. The price of said Ingot if calculated with "true materials" would be roughly 38 gold. but if you build it from scratch and apply the right bonus craft probabilities (made a whole excel table for that) you reduce those cost alot. Iron Ingot =(4 x Iron ore price)/1,2= 1,67 Steel Ingot= (3 x 1,67+ flux+2 x charcoal)/1.93=3.47 Starmetal Ingot= (6x starmetal Ore + 2x 3.47+Flux+2 x Charcoal)/1.4= 10.89 Orichalcum Ingot= (8x Ori Ore+ 2x 10.89+flux+2 x charcoal)/1.13= 30.76 So the real Price of me crafting an Orichalcum Ingot on my server is 30.76 coins (without crafting tax), based on the raw material prices. The market price of Orichalcum Ingots on my server is 23.05 coins tho (has been below 25 for over 2 weeks now, below craftings price since forever). What i am trying to demonstrate here is that in this particular case, its is much better to just craft up to starmetal ingots on my server(go for 11.5 coins) and then sell them and the orichalcum ore you gather, since you can buy more orichalcum ingots from that money than you would get crafting them yourself with those materials. Thats why it is better to buy your ingots for Asmodeum crafts on this server. On ym servers is is also the case for Ironwood Planks. Hides and Fibers are highly profitable in crafting tho. So rather than saying its ALWAYS best to craft yourself, its usually better to craft yourself, but sometimes the market is cheaper than the craft cost and it would be better to sell raw materials and buy finished materials, since they are highly overproduced. would like to hear your opinion on that and talk about this. Kind regards
This is true, some market prices fluctuate skewing it, but this would really only apply to smelting from my tests, however there are a few things your not considering to be fair, although I am not saying you are wrong, but your not considering the yields from the aptitude crates you will generate smelting those orichalcum bars , wich contain massive amounts of flux, as well as tolv / cin and on top of that the value of the azoth vials and smelter set piece potential.. but again with smelting the margins are much smaller you are correct
I do agree with you though, it is a complicated conversation, The bulk of my viewers are newer players, and I make guides, now here is why I make these video's.. when I post a guide and I say it takes 4500 orichalcum to get from 150-200 I get spammed, no kidding, with comments like, omg man thats like so much coin this is stupid.. I am trying to emphasize the idea that you can farm mats, not only buy them :P People in a position to buy huge amounts of mats generally don't need to learn from anything I am teaching in these sorts of vids :P Know what I mean ?
@@5HeadSurvivalGaming yeah probably you are right. but if 4.5k orichalcum sounds alot to you, then maybe crafting is not for you XD. I do get your point and as i said i very appreciate your content and 99% of what you are saying is absolutely true and helpful to many people, but in order to maximize profit, looking at the exact costs of things is usually a good way to get even more coin out of your time :)
I leveled my entire 150-200 Weaponsmithing buying purples each day. I was playing 10g or less for weapons. Cost less than 25% of the cheapest crafting method (based on my servers prices), takes a long time, but if you still have to get trophies and gear then there really is no rush.
Oh my God, you have away my secret about the leather!!!!! Damnit. But I did learn about the level 25 and 35 corruption portals. Holy moly, time to start farming!
Thanks for the tips. May a suggest a video? A guide on what gems to use for mutated dungeons, people get so confused over this. I've been getting groups for M10 with lost people not knowing the basics about it.
This is great stuff. I have basically solo'd for the three or four weeks I have had this game and I had no idea about any of this. If I were an autobot my name would be Noobimus Prime.
Tip 1 would be way better, If you compare actual market prices... There are ppl that just refine stuff, they buy then raw materials and refine them. So the prices usally include this refining bonus. Sure, with buy orders you might spare money. But you can buy t5 refined mats with buy orders, too.
With tips like these, I really hope that they make 200 crafting (trophies/ trade sets) accessible to everybody. I mean why should just a few people benefit? Share the wealth!
Im a new player and i got a question, how can i increase the amount of bonuses i get for crafting like it is in the video? Cause I only have 6% bonus and i see you have 100% on some of them!
First example is not the best. That theoretical 60k raw you make has no value, only thing that matters is the value you end up with. So you farmed for 3 hours and got 1k infused leather. Infused leather usually goes around 9-12g/piece, so you made about 3-4k gold/hour of farming. It's ok, but not great. Do any farming that nets you more than 4k gold/hour, sell the stuff and buy the infused leather = profit. Heck, right now on my server 10k raw, 5.5k thick and 5.9k iron hide is worth more than 1k infused leather, so you'd be better off selling the raw materials and buying the infused. Aptitude crates might tip it in favor of refining, but it's close.
Ya the point i was making was in reference to people reverse engineering numbers in other video's claiming you would need massively inflated amounts of raw materials for x amount of infused, wich is not true
Great videos as always. Congrats. Since you have huge visibility, here´s a quick suggestion: what if we had a wide variety of dummies to damage testing, both pve and pvp, like an Angry Earth Dummy, Corrupted Dummy, Full Resilient Dummy, Huge HP Dummy, Full Elemental/Physical Aversion Dummy?
Where do the bonuses come from? eg. rawhide to coarse was 30% chance, then at coarse to rugged was 103%, then at rugged to layered it was 50%... is that the territory control, pvp control of fort?
did they nerf tier 3 crates? I used 6.5k infused leathers to get 11 tier 3 boxes. But I only got 2 ref perks and 2 squirming vines. barely cover the cost I spend 😢
Do you think it's worth farming those boars at that waterfall in edengrove for iron hide? Because when the patch comes yield from those is reduced if I remember correctly.

I have to disagree on your first point tho where you said "never buy T5 mats". The point you make with "creating mats out of thin air" surely is right, but the market prices do take that into account almost every time.
here is an example from ym server (Tartarus):

Starmetal Ore 1.1
Ori-Ore: 1.4

Chance of mutliple Iron ingots in craft (w/o smelter set for general purposes): 20% steel 93% starmetal 40% Orichalcum 13%

Starmetal Ingot= (6x starmetal Ore + 2x 3.47+Flux+2 x Charcoal)/1.4= 10.89
Orichalcum Ingot= (8x Ori Ore+ 2x 10.89+flux+2 x charcoal)/1.13= 30.76

Im a new player and i got a question, how can i increase the amount of bonuses i get for crafting like it is in the video? Cause I only have 6% bonus and i see you have 100% on some of them!

nah, I just look for 590 because often I find someone who has posted crafted gear because they didnt know better and got asmodeum and runic salvaging
Thanks! Great video. Question. On what depends the "additional crafted ítem bonus"?
Putting stuff you're farming on the hot bar isn't working anymore. I am unable to put it there, it says you cant equip this.
