I love this! As an artist whose just getting started In decoupage I do all these techniques with my botanical paintings. I love how you explained everything! Thankyou so much. I can't wait to start my first project. 😃
Wow! She’s beautiful. Your tutoring skills are second to none. Clear precise instructions which give confidence for us beginners to have a go! Brilliant. Thankyou 🙂
A masterpiece! 😍 This is my fav kind of painted furniture - muted , impressionistic but eclectic with stencils and stripes, textures, etc so it looks current or modern . Great tutorial❣️ 🙏
Super tutorial. Great inspiration and confidence built in. Can't wait to try this. Definitely will get those brushes. What a salesperson. Thanks so much.
I found a new favorite furniture painter! Your piece turned out perfectly beautiful and you explain so well and I am a new fan of your work and I will be following your videos everyday too learn how to become a better furniture painter! Thank you!!! Drue 🙏😊
Love what you did here. Another order of things - if you do the coats of Anchor, then stencils on the top & on the drawers, followed by the Ballerina & the Flowers, then paint in your edges OVER the stencils, finally, you can touch-up those stencils again, but do them in a slightly bit different color, maybe darker or more grey, not evenly, can also slightly angle them like an old newsprint slapped down & weathered. Then you don't need to worry about stencils on top of your main images. Like an accurate, layered effect. And I'd line the drawers AFTER the paint & water spray, I tend to also make messes, the wetness getting on the liners is no good. Sometimes, like for the drawers, I use gravity's help, take out of dresser, flip on their backs, do most of my work - that way you don't fight it. Anyway, this came out beautiful!
Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I am trying to use the ballerina in a large silver plated tray and your video answered so many questions . Thank you!
*Replay....Absolutely amazing...thanks so much, Melissa...such a great teacher.... Trying to figure out how to do this with a sage background, and white floral decoupage stencil...
LOVE THE PIECE LOOKS STUNNING AND YOU ARE JUST AWESOMME AND MAKE AN WONDERFUL TEACHER. IF YOU GAVE CLASSES I WOULD COME. LOTS OF LOVE SHAUN SOUTH AFRICA X
Hello from Margie @ MMDATM, I have always been intrigued by the Decoupage application. Great instruction, and love how it all came together! I think I will really like working with it. Thank you Melissa!
SO glad I found this video. I had already purchased the Floral Ballerina a couple of months ago, and I recently purchased the Victorian Damask stencil (because I LOVE everything damask) . Now searching for the right piece to apply it to!!
I'm a little confused watching this! Are Dixie papers like transfers sort of? I've never seen a rice paper that you wouldn't have a white or other very light color under the image. Maybe I missed something? How did your project go? Did you do your image directly over black paint as well?
It’s possible to blend silk if you work quickly. Because you should not be adding any water like in a spray bottle the need for speed is great. Paint blends when wet. So in this case you can blend silk but while wet and only in one section at a time because it would dry.
Hi Melissa, I would love to buy the floral ballerina but I cannot find a shop shipping to Switzerland. Can you help me out? Do you know some place I can buy this paper? Thanks a lot Claudia

Find the color that’s closest to the background color in your paper. That’s the best way.

Love this. My husband always complains about my messes
Hi, I'm in the UK, when I type in clearcoat varnish comes up, could I ask what clearcoat is in the USA please?
Clear coat is a sealant. I use Dixie belle. It’s water based. You could also search polycrylic.
Can you blend silk paint? I’m not sold on the chalkiness of chalk paint I’m going to give silk paint a try
It’s possible to blend silk if you work quickly. Because you should not be adding any water like in a spray bottle the need for speed is great. Paint blends when wet. So in this case you can blend silk but while wet and only in one section at a time because it would dry.
Good evening, I have always wondered whether spray painted hardware lasts for any length of time. Thoroughly enjoyed this video by the way.
I’ve got apiece in my living room that’s lasted 8 years.
Floral ballerina
WOW!
Hi Melissa, I would love to buy the floral ballerina but I cannot find a shop shipping to Switzerland. Can you help me out? Do you know some place I can buy this paper? Thanks a lot Claudia
Hello! I believe this paper is now discontinued. Can you check Etsy? Possibly there?
@@TheTopDrawerRVA Oh what a pity. Many thanks for the quick reply. Greetings Claudia
❤❤❤❤
Can you paint Anchor Silk paint over an unwaxed chalk painted piece?
If it’s not waxed. Silk paint does not like a wax and will resist
Are the colours black sands silk paint as well?
Yes black sands is silk paint
Thank you
When your piece is dry is it smooth like a glossed over piece ? And where did you say we can buy these papers?
Links to products in the description on the video. Dixie belle paint . Com
How did the ballerina and flowers start on the left side and end up on the right side of the piece?
Some of this video was filmed live on Facebook. And the filming is reversed there.
