Wow, the remodel was well worth the wait! I really like how they've themed it and woven a story/time line around the exhibits. Looks so much better than just stuff behind chicken wire in open areas. They've really stepped up their game and thanks ATW for sharing this!
WOW!! It has been about 15 to 20 years since I last visited that place. They really have improved it greatly. Thank you, Adam, for the new updated museum.
@@MylesErwin I would love to. You don't know me though. I have Parkinson's. I don't drive anymore for the safety of everyone. I might be able to coordinate a ride with someone. Time will tell. I agree that I should go back as soon as it can be arranged.
Adam, I had been watching a number of your videos with the larger theme parks and new attractions, then started watching your videos of visits to the smaller but always interesting out of the way roadside museums plus the attractions in places like Gatlinburg and North Carolina. I am 71 years old, a former Marine Corps Captain and a retired emergency medicine Physician Assistant, but after watching your visit to Mt Airy and the Andy Griffith sites (seeing places we didn't even go to on our last visit) and realizing your videos are comprehensive and informative, I decided to subscribe. I have become "addicted" to the videos. Strong work! Captain Hill
Wow! The Thing did up its game dramatically! It’s been a required stop for my family every time we drive out to California for decades. Good to see that it’s being taken care of, and has a bright future ahead.
I drive past this every summer and I never get to stop, thank you for taking us along and letting me explore somewhere that I have wanted to for a long time
That is a must stop if your driving that section of the lonely 10. I'm sure you've driven it at night several times. The stars are simply amazing along that stretch of hwy. Thank you for another great video!!!
Adam! Thank you for the glowing review of The Thing! I truly appreciate your unique way of viewing things. I'm so happy you enjoyed your visit there. It's all connected! "Bed Bugs!" Haha, that was great!
I’ve never been far enough south in Arizona to go here, but hopefully one day. Looks like they’ve worked hard on the update! Great, classic video. Thanks Adam!
Wooow. Adam's video of his original trip to The Thing is how I found his channel in the first place. I actually just rewatched that old video last night. It's still one of my favorite classic ATW videos but you can tell how much he has improved with his video quality and filming quality since then. It's crazy to see how different this attraction is now. Back then it was just a series of very narrow, crude buildings full of random weird stuff like cars, creepy carved stick creatures and little dioramas of medieval torture. Also Adam didn't show us what The Thing looked like in the original visit. I do really wish he had brought back the creepy whispering of the words "The Thing" from his original video. That was so memorable to me, lol.
Hey Adam!! I just wanted to say I love what you do, and your videos are awesome. Ever since I looked up a Halloween movie film location video, I found yours and since the started watching your vlogs. I've actually been watching them in order haha. I'm in the 1500's now. But I also watch the latest ones you post. I'll have to keep eye out for whenever you're back up in New Hampshire area!! Be great to meet you!

Hello Adam the Woo! great vlog on the Thing museum. I like interesting museums. This roadside attraction reminds me of Roswell and Aliens and strange beings from the past!
I lived in Phoenix for a year and I'm still kicking myself for not driving down further south to see The Thing. (I did visit Bedrock and some of the Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure filming locations, though!)
You should make sure you follow Adam the woo I can give you my word you will not be disappointed everyday is a new adventure I'm always giving this man thumbs up before I even watched the Vlog cuz I know it's going to be good
Last time Jacob was there the place seemed pretty basic. But the new additions really make it worth that $5. Very cool! Such a creative alien vs. dinosaur story, that would make a fun movie... (As an aside, I always wondered if the 1947 Roswell crash did alter history. Seems like that's when computer technology started to take off.) Nice that they let you film it, kinda surprised by that actually. Thing water? You sure that's safe to drink?! Anyway, great job man. Kindled my interest in this RS attraction!
It's gone thru a lot of changes . I loved the original set up and stopped every time I passed by . The last being 8 months or so ago and The Thing was shoved in the corner next to some soda machines while new sections were being built . It was bizarre but kinda fun to stumble on It unexpected . The new layout is amazing . Especially the ending mine area
What an amazing place. When you have conversations with the displays, it is so funny, Adam.😁 See, your future was predicted correctly. You did purchase some items. ...........What if...???

I havent been here in a couple of years....what did they do with the older part? Did they enclose what was outside or completely new structure? Thanks for sharing this with us.
We completely rebuilt the new museum and doubled the size of the store. The old metal buildings are history. But if you look closely, you will find that most of the items from the old museum are there.
@@Bowlinonline Thanks for getting back with me on my questions. I cant wait to head back west soon and give you guys a visit. My wife is already wanting a Christmas Ornament from there. I am thoroughly impressed by what I saw in AdamTheWoo's visit. Wonderful job on the new museum.
Interesting mix of items in there. Each of them are The Thing.. Thanks for stopping in! The last time I drove through there 11 years ago I still didn't stop in.. We passed you on I10 about the time you were filming. We debated about stopping to see the new site but we figured we would visit later as we are locals. We dang wished we stopped now. All well.
Holy cats! I never knew this place existed. I have to use my Columbo-like-research-skills and see what this place looked like before renovation. I, however, will not use those research skills to find out what the Thing really is. Learned my lesson from that. Some 'things' should be left sacred.
