Could you maybe elaborate on the exact location where to find it? What do you mean by south bridge in limgrave? Do you mean the peninsula/southern limgrave and if yes, where in there? :)
As soon as you get to the open world if you go east for about 100 feet, there is a chest that will Teleport you almost exactly where that 1st staff is you got, so you don't have to ride all the way there. Alot faster
@@ThreeMinuteGaming west of stormveil castle there is a rock formation with a few building on it that is separated by water, you can see the formation along the coast line and at the top of the castle, you know how to get there by chance?
@@zerionis @R.E.D27 There is also a location far NW of the map called 'The Four Belfries'. It's like 4 towers on a hillside. If you go all the way to the top, there is a collectible by the tower named 'something sword' (i forget the name).... anyway. If you go back down the hill to the first tower you come to, there is a teleporter you can activate with the key you just picked up. It takes you back to the location you are discussing right in front of the boss door. (The tutorial boss that ganked you earlier in the game). :D
If you don't want to grind the shield there is a tower in the south right beside the "Castle Morne Rampart" waypoint. Find the whirlwind beside it and launch on top of the tower to get the "Great Turtle Shell" it has 100% Armour and 2-less strength cost.
super pro tip #2: Put your staff in your left hand, use Determination Ashes of war with your right hand weapon (L2) this will BUFF Your spells for about 8 or 9 seconds as long as you dont' swing your main hand weapon! Super powerful with Rock Sling and Meteorite staff I'm only level 47 but crushing bosses like grapes!
@@gaurav362 because staves come standard for the most part with the “No Skill” Ash of War meaning they won’t use anything and it will default to your weapon’s Ash of War skill instead.

I've been learning the game bit by bit and playing all the classes before locking in one for 100+ hours and had reduced it to Astrologer and Samurai, your concise info on how to jumpstart an Astrologer's world into the stratosphere has locked me in on Astrologer FTW. That means I get to play with the character creation zone, wasn't expecting it to be so flexible in allowing me to create alien, bizarre characters that fit into this surreal realm.
Just so everyone knows as well if you haven't tested the damage. Meteorite Staff gives a 30% increase to gravity spells, probably as a compensation to the no upgrades (haven't tested the other boosting spells yet honestly, but have tested the Meteorite Staff against another staff at the time that had the exact same spell damage) It's honestly going to be a long time before you use anything other than it and rock fling as main damage, especially on bosses. though once you start getting the other staffs into the +18 range, you will catch up in damage for other non-gravity spells.
@@tylergarza1738 yes until demi is like 10+ maybe even 15+ meteor will still be better. Also any staff that gives a bonus can be equipped in the alternate hand so you can have 2 staffs and still get the bonus. So you could be casting with an upgraded staff in the right hand and using meteor in the left to get the gravity bonus. There are like 10 or more different staffs with different bonuses so it is worth mentioning.

Doesn't really matter what you start with, if you farm you'll be OP. When my friend (in the process of moving from f'd up 3rd world, anti-human rights France to a more civilised land) settles into his new place and can play I'll be starting again as a Wretch and Elden Ring is my 1st proper play of a souls game.
i'd reccomend another shield in between the guy who sells ashes of war in his shack and the bridge with a pumpkin head is an enemy camp with a chest, it has a heater shield with 100%block for only 10 str requirement
@@imsodamnhot the enemy camp inbetween the warmaster's shack's grace and the saint's bridge grace points in the stormhill region, if you follow the road between those points you have to go through it
@@BLESStheGENERAL those two grace points are nearly conjoined they're that close together and the enemy camp is on the road in between them, the shield is in a chest on the ground, behind (or in front if you're coming from the bridge) one of the ruins inside of the camp
Guess what I found out. Passive effects work still on your off hand. So that lusat staff? Yea you can equip it on your left hand while still having the meteorite staff on your right (or vice versa) and your Rock sling will do double damage plus the gravity boost from meteorite staff. Also cost more fp. Happy hunting ☺️
There are two optimizations I would make in this otherwise excellent video guide. One you can just take the chest in the dragon burnt ruins to go the poison swamp and two one can just purchase the heater shield from the npc at the roundtable. Other than those it is an amazing video.
Just want to throw this out there. Even if you upgrade that Queen staff all the way, the meteor staff still outperforms it. Just level up your FP and you'll be fine with the Meteor staff the entire game.
Well there actually are better options if you pay attention you still get the bonus from the meteorite staffs gravity damage but there are staves that are better and scale slightly better especially if you upgrade them all the way so you use that as your main casting staff and you keep the meteorite staff on the opposite hand so that you still get the gravity boosting effect for your main staff so yes you dual wield staves and the dmg is insane. You shouldn’t need a shield since you have summon spirits which will get you through most everything anything else you just use carrion blade up close
Sword of night and flame is so broken. That’s a must for a melee weapon for intelligence and faith builds. It’s found in caria manor. Upgraded it deals 6000-7000 damage
Astrologer is a lot of fun. I'm new to souls game, this is like the 4th build i've tried. The damage is off the charts. I found myself one-shotting bosses I struggled with a lot in my previous characters. Even taking down Morgott on just my second try with no help when before I'd die even with help other players. I'd recommend this class to any first timers for sure.

There is a beast crest heater shield in one of the Godrik soldier camps along the north road. It gives full physical resist, but requires only 10 str and its a guaranteed loot. Much better than the Brass shield IMO.
The brown one, yes, later I found a similar one with a sun that's even better, thou I only use it against archers, my default is staff+sword for finishing blows
I just got this hat from the Academy that gives 6 INT at the cost of health and stamina, and that early hideous hat give 5 INT for free? I wish I knew before xD Thanks though!
I wouldn’t even bother with a shield as sorcerer but if you must then beater shield is best, 100% resist for 10 str and I think you’ll need 10 str anyway for some staffs so it’s much better

The Rotview Balcony is the perfect spot to grind with the Rock Sling spell. The two birds there will give you 1700 each and will not come after you if you stand on the wooden ledge and cast the spell at them. 15 to 20 seconds each time. Rest and repeat.
Tips to make your farm form brass shield at 5:44 more efficient. Mount up, ride towards the guy with the fanfare who will alert entire camp. Group them up in a line, dismount and use the aoe cone spell that will kill a guard in 2-3 shots, efficiently killing the whole group. Beware of the spear wearing dude.
@@carlsep17 at time stamp 3:20 he rides through this camp. It’s the one with the spiked walls, you can sneak the left side kill two easy enemies and grab the chest. The camp is right before the bridge with pumpkin head
Instead of farming this gold shield if you don’t care for the juicy aesthetics. Feel free to purchase the Heater Shield for 600 Runes from the Twin Husks in the Roundtable. It’s fairly lightweight, allows parrying if you need, and has 100% Physical block.
@@cardigansrule though if you truly wanna become overpowered in minutes. You just start as Astrologer, swing down to Weeping Peninsula, collect the Morningstar, swing over to Caelid. Tail slap dragon with bleed, level Int and Faith to 24, Swing over to Caria Manor, Collect the Sword of Night and Flame, running around you can collect a somberstone 5 and purchase the previous 4 from Iji to instantly upgrade it to +5. Total probably takes like 10-20 minutes from character creation and can legit 2 shot Margit.

Just finished all the steps on my new astrologer. Thanks for the guide, although I would call it OP IN THREE HOURS ;). Also had to slow down some parts to 0.25x because you go over the map so quickly. Would be good to slow it down just so we can have time to put a marker on our map. Looking forward to play the game now!
Maybe it's just RNG but I did find that at the rountable area you can buy a 100% physical shield that does not require strength and was around 1000 runes.

The heater shield sold by the vendor at the round table is a better option for a pure mage as it only requires 10 str to wield.. the issue with the Brass shield is it requires 16 str.. unless you are making a spellsword build, the extra points are a waste to gain only a bit more stability. The Heater shield also lets you parry.
I found a heater shield in a chest just north of the warmaker shack in a little outpost camp thing. 10 str and 100% physical damage reduction. I think it is warmaker shack anyway. The dude who sells the ash of war stuff with the floating sword asshole that only comes out at night. And just as an aside I put the "No Skill" ash on the shield so I can one hand the other ashes with out having to two hand. Which is a bit risky as an astrologer. Running around in bed sheets 2 handing hoping your roll is timed right. No thanks.
@@jenova2916 I said if you’re doing a pure mage. Two very different builds as opposed to spellsword. And this is an early build which is a waste to dump 6 points into strength for the sake of using a shield. A pure mage can also buff a shield and you get the same benefit from a lower strength req shield without dumping the extra points into the stat. The 6 points can be used elsewhere in a much better way early on.
quick tip: You can grab a 100% physical shield on your way to Caelid. It is inside a chest in an enemy camp before the bridge (that one with a pumpkin head guy, near Alexander).
@@HerrTikTok I don't think so. I believe it automatically switches to night when you fast travel to church of elleh after obtaining torrent. Not sure haven't tested it, because i usually just fast travel there immediately after obtaining torrent which is night already.
Good start. I'd add to quickly replace your wolf summons with the really easy to acquire skeletal militiamen. Undead summons are OP. You get them from the tibia mariner, in summonwater village, about 5 minutes north / north-east from start.
They're fantastic for bosses that don't have huge AOE so they can revive! Since this video I'm mostly just using Our Lord and Savior, the Almighty Jellyfish, until you get mimic lol
Hour2 : you can meet Rogier before the first/second bosses in the castle and if you can beat boss #2 and go BACK to the roundtable he will give you his Rapier +7 that can be buffed magically with your meteor staff for about 300 damage with Crit attack (total damage magic + base!) Does anyone else know if Staff's count towards weapon level matchmaking and when does the queen staff beat the meteorite? Umbasa!
I was upgrading my queen staff to answer this question, it seems like the spell buff is close at +5 but the meteor staff is still better so +6 or +7 should make the Queen staff better if you’re not using rock sling.
I never made a caster in all the soulbourne games but after 150 hours on my warrior in elden I decided to make a mage in elden. Just looks like a lot of fun. Plus I got tons of equipment on my warrior for the mage so with help from a friend all that stuff is getting transferd to my astrologer haha. Gonna be a blast. No pun intended !
You can do a short cut to the hell area, if you go to the dragon burnt ruin and go downstairs, open the chest and you’re transported pretty close to it.
@@maseo444 You don't need to stop the fire, you'll have to run to safety between bursts then attack the columns. At the end of the fire area there's a ladder that leads to a floor, Dropping down will find a lever that'll open the boss door.
@@UltraLaidback From Sellen after you give her the royal house scroll. You can find this scroll in the open world, I forget exactly where but it's in that first area, you can probably google the exact location.

Ignore Part 3e (Imp head) at 6:20. I just spent 2 hours grinding the Imps, and it only gives *TWO Int*, not 5 as claimed (nerfed I guess). It also weighs 8.1!!! It does give 8 Poise though, which is probably a lot early on. It's nice to have a +2 Int item, I guess, and I ground my way through about 8 levels slaying 150 Imps or so but... not worth it all in all, I think.
@@Kloxterz Yeah its a pain. Actually my game died after getting the head, and I accidently reverted back to an old game so I had to do it all again. But I got it after only a couple of tries that time, so it all come down to luck.
There are quite a few things that are incorrect with this video: 1) You don’t have to “go to a far away grace” for Melina to take you to the Roundtable Hold. Just die to Margit once and rest at the Stormhill Shack grace, way easier and happens sooner, which might make getting to the Meteorite Staff and Rock Sling easier since there are actually enemies on the way. 2) The Meteorite Staff far outperforms even an upgraded Demi-Human Queen Staff 3) Don’t just warp to “the Church” like he says, there are quite a few you will encounter. He means the Church of Elleh, specifically. 4) The Brass shield is gonna be heavier than some other shields you can just find far easier that also have 100% physical block 5) If you follow the right side of Stormveil Castle, look up where to find the Academy Gate Key and go to the Raya Lucaria Academy, there are several helmets you find that are better than the one you farm from the Imps and aren’t too tough to get to. 6) Not even a MENTION of Comet Azure??? I know this is for early game, but c’mon what’s more OP than that?
2.1) The meteorite staff can be a good early game weapon but it is easier if you get it via the chest trap rather than having to ride all the way to Brazil for an hour to get it.
Can't wait to try this! I started as Bandit and it sucked so switched to Vagabond just to learn the ropes. Astrologer and Samurai just look so much fun!
Hello ! Are you sure about cat helm drops from imps ? i farmed 3 hours now and i 1 shot them so killed over 500 still no helm :S i got like 8 weapon drops from them but no helm

I would say no. One of the best things ABOUT Astrologer is that they start with the lowest STR -- the most useless stat. Why get more than you need? You can get a decent shield with less than 10 STR so it's fine.

Farming the brass shield is actually kind of dumb because it requires 16 strength which there's no reason to have as an Astrologer. There's a better shield up north in a bandit encampment, a form of the heater shield. Also I don't THINK that the Demi Human staff can ever get better than the Meteorite Staff

End game the meteor staff will start to become a less viable option. Lusat’s staff is good for raw damage.

Astrologer is a lot of fun. I'm new to souls game, this is like the 4th build i've tried. The damage is off the charts. I found myself one-shotting bosses I struggled with a lot in my previous characters. Even taking down Morgott on just my second try with no help when before I'd die even with help other players. I'd recommend this class to any first timers for sure.

There is a beast crest heater shield in one of the Godrik soldier camps along the north road. It gives full physical resist, but requires only 10 str and its a guaranteed loot. Much better than the Brass shield IMO.
Yeah his stats during the memory stone section shows he didn’t invest in the 16 strength either.
The brown one, yes, later I found a similar one with a sun that's even better, thou I only use it against archers, my default is staff+sword for finishing blows

I wouldn’t even bother with a shield as sorcerer but if you must then beater shield is best, 100% resist for 10 str and I think you’ll need 10 str anyway for some staffs so it’s much better
Level up while farming goblin mask (catmask)
I saw another guide and strength should be maximum 20 so you can use the jellyfish shield for this build

The Rotview Balcony is the perfect spot to grind with the Rock Sling spell. The two birds there will give you 1700 each and will not come after you if you stand on the wooden ledge and cast the spell at them. 15 to 20 seconds each time. Rest and repeat.
Tips to make your farm form brass shield at 5:44 more efficient.
Mount up, ride towards the guy with the fanfare who will alert entire camp. Group them up in a line, dismount and use the aoe cone spell that will kill a guard in 2-3 shots, efficiently killing the whole group.
Beware of the spear wearing dude.

@@carlsep17 at time stamp 3:20 he rides through this camp. It’s the one with the spiked walls, you can sneak the left side kill two easy enemies and grab the chest. The camp is right before the bridge with pumpkin head

Instead of farming this gold shield if you don’t care for the juicy aesthetics. Feel free to purchase the Heater Shield for 600 Runes from the Twin Husks in the Roundtable. It’s fairly lightweight, allows parrying if you need, and has 100% Physical block.
yep, it's way lighter, and 600 runes is nothing, easily worth not having to farm

Tail slap dragon with bleed, level Int and Faith to 24, Swing over to Caria Manor, Collect the Sword of Night and Flame, running around you can collect a somberstone 5 and purchase the previous 4 from Iji to instantly upgrade it to +5. Total probably takes like 10-20 minutes from character creation and can legit 2 shot Margit.

Just finished all the steps on my new astrologer. Thanks for the guide, although I would call it OP IN THREE HOURS ;). Also had to slow down some parts to 0.25x because you go over the map so quickly. Would be good to slow it down just so we can have time to put a marker on our map. Maybe it's just RNG but I did find that at the rountable area you can buy a 100% physical shield that does not require strength and was around 1000 runes.
It requires 10 strength in my game. Maybe they changed it?

You can actually jump down for the staff. There's a branch to the left. Just avoid the enemies and jump down onto it then down from there.
The heater shield sold by the vendor at the round table is a better option for a pure mage as it only requires 10 str to wield.. the issue with the Brass shield is it requires 16 str.. unless you are making a spellsword build, the extra points are a waste to gain only a bit more stability. The Heater shield also lets you parry.
You need 16 STR for the Moonlight Greatsword anyway
I found a heater shield in a chest just north of the warmaker shack in a little outpost camp thing. 10 str and 100% physical damage reduction.
I think it is warmaker shack anyway. The dude who sells the ash of war stuff with the floating sword asshole that only comes out at night.
And just as an aside I put the "No Skill" ash on the shield so I can one hand the other ashes with out having to two hand. Which is a bit risky as an astrologer. Running around in bed sheets 2 handing hoping your roll is timed right. No thanks.
@@jenova2916 I said if you’re doing a pure mage. Two very different builds as opposed to spellsword. And this is an early build which is a waste to dump 6 points into strength for the sake of using a shield. A pure mage can also buff a shield and you get the same benefit from a lower strength req shield without dumping the extra points into the stat. The 6 points can be used elsewhere in a much better way early on.

quick tip: You can grab a 100% physical shield on your way to Caelid. It is inside a chest in an enemy camp before the bridge (that one with a pumpkin head guy, near Alexander).

@@HerrTikTok I don't think so. I believe it automatically switches to night when you fast travel to church of elleh after obtaining torrent. Not sure haven't tested it, because i usually just fast travel there immediately after obtaining torrent which is night already.

I'd add to quickly replace your wolf summons with the really easy to acquire skeletal militiamen. Undead summons are OP.
You get them from the tibia mariner, in summonwater village, about 5 minutes north / north-east from start.
They're fantastic for bosses that don't have huge AOE so they can revive!
Since this video I'm mostly just using Our Lord and Savior, the Almighty Jellyfish, until you get mimic lol
Hour2 : you can meet Rogier before the first/second bosses in the castle and if you can beat boss #2 and go BACK to the roundtable he will give you his Rapier +7 that can be buffed magically with your meteor staff for about 300 damage with Crit attack (total damage magic + base!) Does anyone else know if Staff's count towards weapon level matchmaking and when does the queen staff beat the meteorite? Umbasa!
I was upgrading my queen staff to answer this question, it seems like the spell buff is close at +5 but the meteor staff is still better so +6 or +7 should make the Queen staff better if you’re not using rock sling.

I never made a caster in all the soulbourne games but after 150 hours on my warrior in elden I decided to make a mage in elden. Just looks like a lot of fun. Plus I got tons of equipment on my warrior for the mage so with help from a friend all that stuff is getting transferd to my astrologer haha. Gonna be a blast. No pun intended !

You can do a short cut to the hell area, if you go to the dragon burnt ruin and go downstairs, open the chest and you’re transported pretty close to it.
I think the Imp head was nerfed as I only get +2 Int instead of +5

@@maseo444 You don't need to stop the fire, you'll have to run to safety between bursts then attack the columns.
At the end of the fire area there's a ladder that leads to a floor, Dropping down will find a lever that'll open the boss door.

Another spell that's super essential to use in the early game is Carian Slicer. It basically gives your mage an r1 spam stunlock weapon, lol.
This has helped me in so many fights! (Invasions, anyone?)

Ignore Part 3e (Imp head) at 6:20. I just spent 2 hours grinding the Imps, and it only gives *TWO Int*, not 5 as claimed (nerfed I guess). It also weighs 8.1!!! It does give 8 Poise though, which is probably a lot early on.
It's nice to have a +2 Int item, I guess, and I ground my way through about 8 levels slaying 150 Imps or so but... not worth it all in all, I think.
Thank god I saw this lmao, I got tired of farming that head to never have it drop lol
@@Kloxterz Yeah its a pain. Actually my game died after getting the head, and I accidently reverted back to an old game so I had to do it all again. But I got it after only a couple of tries that time, so it all come down to luck.

There are quite a few things that are incorrect with this video:
1) You don’t have to “go to a far away grace” for Melina to take you to the Roundtable Hold. Just die to Margit once and rest at the Stormhill Shack grace, way easier and happens sooner, which might make getting to the Meteorite Staff and Rock Sling easier since there are actually enemies on the way.
2) The Meteorite Staff far outperforms even an upgraded Demi-Human Queen Staff
3) Don’t just warp to “the Church” like he says, there are quite a few you will encounter. He means the Church of Elleh, specifically.
4) The Brass shield is gonna be heavier than some other shields you can just find far easier that also have 100% physical block
5) If you follow the right side of Stormveil Castle, look up where to find the Academy Gate Key and go to the Raya Lucaria Academy, there are several helmets you find that are better than the one you farm from the Imps and aren’t too tough to get to.
6) Not even a MENTION of Comet Azure??? I know this is for early game, but c’mon what’s more OP than that?
2.1) The meteorite staff can be a good early game weapon but it is easier if you get it via the chest trap rather than having to ride all the way to Brazil for an hour to get it.

You literally can get it within your first 30 levels. Do it, it’s not that hard.

Hello ! Are you sure about cat helm drops from imps ? i farmed 3 hours now and i 1 shot them so killed over 500 still no helm :S i got like 8 weapon drops from them but no helm
Extremely low drop rate it seems, but sadly it was nerfed to +2 int, and also heavy as hell, dunno if it being heavy was always the case

They may have nerfed the hat at 7:08 or it gives more int the lower your int is. Because i got it with 23 int and it only gives me two

I would say no. One of the best things ABOUT Astrologer is that they start with the lowest STR -- the most useless stat. Why get more than you need? You can get a decent shield with less than 10 STR so it's fine.
I found a shield with 100% that takes 10 str but it was in a high lv place under ground and i dont remember what or where droped it

Farming the brass shield is actually kind of dumb because it requires 16 strength which there's no reason to have as an Astrologer. There's a better shield up north in a bandit encampment, a form of the heater shield. Also I don't THINK that the Demi Human staff can ever get better than the Meteorite Staff
Yep wish I saw this before I farmed it because in the video it only req 10 str but it's now a req 16 str as you said. Oh well
