The only problem I have with the new S5 is that it's looking more like the other Audi models it seems to get harder to differentiate between the models in each line at first glance. It seemed to me that the old S5 was very handsome and stood out more from the other Audi models. I loved the sculpting of the old A5. Regardless 2017 it's still a very nice car, inside and outside many improvements that are finding their way into all Audi models. The refresh of Audi models continue to be successful and the built quality and attention to detail shine through. Good job on the review, your English is fine in my view! Well done. :-)
One correction: S4 and S5 also feature the tiptronic/converter gear box, we mixed that up. Smaller engines then as said with the dual clutch transmission s-tronic.
Guys, I have just test driven the new S5 coupe for a day. I own the ´09 Audi S5 with the V8. Of course, this new one lacks some of the character of the V8 one. It is mainly noticable in city traffic, where the V8 would rumble even on light throttle at 20 km/h. On the other hand, revving the new V6 sounds juicy, with pops from the exhaust. Acceleration is near-brutal and the exhaust sound is reminiscent of the RS3 and TTRS 5-cylinder unit´s. And the transmission is as sharp as ever. I have to say many of the reviews I have read (excluding Autogefuehl ;)) have faulted the new car for no reason! You really have 2 cars in 1 (choose Comfort, and you have a really smooth ride with no hustle and your neighbours will not even notice you are driving what may be - after options - a EUR 90k car; but put it in Dynamic and you overtake before your eye blinks twice). Wonderful! :)
This car has the best drag coefficient 0.23 and the best Dual clutch gear box of the earth with audi quattro AWD with 40:60 torque distribution. I love it.

It looks good, especially the interior is really to my taste. Seems to drive really well, even comfortably if you want to. Luckily it's out of my price range, I would have sleepless nights if I had to choose between this and a C43! :-)
I have to say... the Autobahn section does look a bit scary. @26:15. As American who has speed limit everywhere, it's hard to imagine driving this fast on a highway lol.

I really enjoy Holger and Thomas' reviews; a great Father and Son combination. Thank you very much Holger for a relaxed review. The car is excellent. I would have chosen a metallic grey paint job and taken the wing mirrors in the body colour. The "silver" wing mirrors look tacky, in my opinion and stand out too much.
I like the rear and side profile of the new one slightly more, but the front of the older one looks more classy and modern. The new one looks a bit like the 2013 Ford Mondeo from the front, definitely doesn't look 'premium' any more. Also Audi seem to have gone from being number 1 in interiors to being behind both Mercedes and BMW, they need a revamp similar to Mercedes.
Hello Autogefühl! :) Please view this as constructive criticism from a long-time viewer and not as trolling or hating or anything like that: I thought this "review" was not up to the standard of quality that I'm used to by Autogefühl and that has, by the way, not necessarilly anything to do with the host. I think we've all come accustomed to the format Thomas introduced, namely going in deep and paying attention to every little detail, especially interior and driving-wise. If you have to switch hosts for any given reason, please stick to your own format and keep the attention to detail up. Apart from that, a review should literally REVIEW the product and if possible compare it to competitors - during the driving segment we've had more of a "play-by-play"-commentary of the car but NOT a review in my humble opinion. Since I'm considering to buy a A5/S5 Sportback I'd like to see a "real" review, with the attention to detail, that make Autogefühl's content so special and sets it apart from any other channel on youtube. They haven't moved the styling on. They've honed it and there's very little to distinguish it from the previous model externally. The inside whilst solid still appears sombre and industrial by todays standards. Its steady as she goes for Audi. Nothing to see here move along. Now the Q2, that's a different story ....
love the interior, nice at night too (not fan of the fix LCD though) those assistance features are not exclusive anymore, even a golf7 has ACC etc at 23:00 feels like fake noise generator, as going from 120 to 150 didn't seem to be a big push
I think you can definitely shorten your videos. There are many minutes floating without Holger saying anything substantial about the car. "Now we enter Autobahn...too much traffic....now I use the adaptive cruise control". What I wanna know (and fast) is how the car feels and goes. The responsiveness, comfort, noise levels, acceleration etc". The reviews should be more on point and I think that the language barrier in many ways hinders you to speak fluently about the car. That is a huge deterrent to watch the reviews because it takes too long time before something substantial is told about the cars. Why not hiring someone that is more comfortable with English?

Evo, Impreza STi have ~60% mass in front. Skyline gtr etc. have ~58% mass in front too. Only front wheel drive concept in Audis line are small Audi A3, A2, A1. Rest are 100% AWD constructions.
I'm not saying that 4 wheel drive is bad for the car ... But the Quattro at Audi is a Front wheel drive + 2 wheel drive for the Quattro ... the Engine in the Audi is placed infront of the front axle and in all back wheel drive it sits behind or above the axle. Audi started with the Quattro because the power was too much for the front wheels... I know that this days Audi have done very good job... but it would be even better if it was based on a rear wheel drive car. Audi R8 is a different story

Autogefühl Even on the road. If you have a crash/hard contact with the wheels, your thumbs will break if they are on the inside. And if you are drifting, you have a much improved reaction time with the steering. That also counts for evasive manoeuvres. It's really much safer and professional. And acquires just a little bit getting used to.
Audi S5 keeps losing its curves which made it look more unique and stronger. Since 2010, this car continues to move in the wrong direction in body style imo.

i test drove one of these last week at my dealer (pre-prod model) and i like that the A/S 5 is getting its own design as the last model felt like just a A4 coupe, now it stands out

The older one is more elegant, more refined. The new one looks bigger - more of a bruiser.

With every exterior shot, you can see that thing understeer. Seems that audi still hasn't found a way to overcome that.

Never grip the steering wheel with your thumbs on the inside of the wheel. It's very unsafe to drive like this. Better put them on the outside.
