"That's an awesome gun(the first one) would love to have that,I own a Savage-24 (22Mag/20G) and love it,One of my all time favs that I have (plus it was handed down to me from my Dad who has passed away so another reason I love it so much)....Love Combo Guns........Best Of Both Worlds!!!"
Does anyone know if there are any combination weapons with a double barrel shotgun and a centre-fire rifle calibre with a magazine and hence multiple shots rather than just the single shot?
When I was in the army in Germany in the mid-60s, these were available at the big sporting-goods store in Wurzburg. At the time, a steal. They were going for 6-700 Deutschmarks, which at the exchange rate at the time was only about 150 dollars US. A lot of money for a GI earning under 200 bucks a month, but I could have managed.... Wish to this day I'd have bought one.
fullicat, the Crossfire Mk1 is a 4 shot pump shotgun over a .556 barrell that takes standard AR mags, that's the closest thing I know of to what you're asking for.
Sounds reasonable. Could also simply be that somebody wanted to be able to do indoor target practice with his primary handgun. In several European languages the .22 used to be called a "lounge (or parlour) gun". It is imagnable that somebody would have had a small metal box to catch bullets and shoot accross the billard table in his victorian style house. They didn't have X-Boxes back then, you know.
Wouldn't the LeMat revolver fit into this category of combination guns? It was a 9-shot revolver with - originally - an under-mounted 16-gauge shotgun underneath, after all.
Matthew Avery Yes, it normally would be. But the LeMat revolver is one of the more known combination guns. In this vid they wanted to show the less known combination guns, like that Winchester Model 1873 with the top mounted shotgun barrel. That thing looked awesome! =3
it's not as powerful as a 12 Ga. or 10 Ga. shotgun blast, but it gets the job done, if your dealing with one or two enemies at close. But really you're better off loading a 16 Ga slug round. if you really want to put them in the hurt locker. >=3
*ONCE UPON A TIME, there was a one gun rule or one gun law. Each man could only legally own one gun. So, The Drilling or Vierling was one gun with three or four barrels. The rules compliant result, for those who could afford it. was one gun with an ability to go hunting 'a variety of typical game' all in one outing with the proper ammo for each, all loaded, at the same time .*
@ Mark Werner and others who would like to buy a combination- gun: look at eGun! There i got my own. Not in my most favoured calibre- combination ( 12/76 and 9,3x74R ), but really cheap. I also would have favoured a "Vierling" over the "Drilling" i´ve got ( and i am still looking for one ), but owning a "Drilling" has an extra- meaning for me: my family- name is Drilling...
Senne Hunter I have a ton of original ammo for your weapon if interested. It ain't cheap but might part with a few boxes. Check my drilling out, th-cam.com/video/36KOJuhpsJk/w-d-xo.html
I use to have one like that. 2 side by side 12 gauge barrels and 1 30'06 on the bottom. But some crackhead broke in and stole it. Real shame. got it for 200 bucks at a yard sale.
That Winchester is by far the most beautiful gun I've ever seen that doesn't involve ornate engravings.
these firearms must be a ton each.. great museum!

Beautiful, It beats carrying 1 double barrel shotgun, 1 22 and a centerfire rifle.

I think the smith's rimfire barrel might be so you can practice trigger control for less, and for what is now plinking.

Wish they had shown a LeMat revolver
Would have liked to have seen more about how the first gun functioned.

Fair enough ^^
Matthew Avery Yes, indeed. =3
I can't imagine how devastating a 16 ga. shotgun blast would be from a LeMat at close range...

with the revolver i believe the top barrel is for deceiving enemies from thinking you were out then.. surprise!!
ever heard of a combination
"assault" rifle called a crossfire was like a semi auto 223 and a 12 gauge..... I seen a few very very awkward....
I saw a side by side rifle with a scope at Cabelas. My head was full of "wut"?

does anyone make automatic combo guns? guns dat only Hercules could use?
You forget the LeMatt revolver.

16 ga, 7x65R and insertion barrel in .22 Hornet then one is settled for many hunting else situations.
In a drilling , i meant.
44 mag = decent for up to deer at close range , .22 = rabbit & small game what's so hard to understand?
