      All 4 of them are still going strong
      Scott's been with Judas Priest for 30+ years.Alderete spent time in Mars Volta & Bruce has released several brilliant solo albums & done production work for successful artists..oh & the Singer reappeared as a Drummer for a while.

    Paul Gilbert as always is amazing but I always felt that Bruce didn't get the same recognition...he was amazing too and I feel a lot of times that his solos were tastier than Paul's.
    Although I remember him being quoted in a magazine stating that to compete with Paul, he literally had to practice ALL day.

      @@interestingthings8598 It was very cool. I normally saw them in smaller clubs and the clubs were always crowded. If you went early enough you could watch soundcheck and hang out with them a bit (which I did a few times). Once, after a show at The Country Club in Reseda John (Juan) invited me and my friends to a party they were headed to. In other words they were local, accessible, and friendly. And the show's were always intense.

    • @firmans12
      @firmans12 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah man I tried all that crap practicing 6 - 14 hours per day.
      At first it would be fun to play your instrument for a long time with discipline (not only fooling around). For guitar the longest I practice was 3 hours and my hand and arms hurt af.
      That's why I'm no near this level of musicianship.
      Big respect to the musicians practice long hours.

    OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! I learned the bass part after seeing the space suit version a while back and thought the song was kinda hard at 145 bpms.. with a pick! AND HES DOING THIS AT LIKE *takes out metronome**pauses* A LOT FASTER.. WITH 2! FINGERS!!! Sheehan eat your heart out. *bows down* there is a God, and he takes his form as Racer X.

    Yep, John Alderete is an awesome bass player. The whole band was the premier metal band of the 80's even though they didn't achieve commercial success. I was in high school in the late 80's and they were my favorite band back then and Paul Gilbert is my favorite artist to this day. I'm seeing him May 7 at the House of Blues in Hollywood.

    I'd watched the live version performed at the Whisky A Go-Go with only Paul on the Guitar. But this version is truly epic: A Trident Guitar Duel between Paul, Bruce and John. Harmonic Guitars, clear concise bass playing and the perfection of Scott's drumming. Rock Art at its best💯💯

    It's such a crying shame these guys and guitar players of this era never got recognized as guitar heroes like Joe Bonamossa or Gary Clark Jr do today!

    Paul Gilbert is one of my fave guitarists of all time, but I have to say that I think Bruce is noticeably faster & more fluid.

      @@livingbeing1113Conclusion was determined by listening to Racer X. They’re basically equals, but BB is faster & more fluid here in this setting. It’s a semantic argument though, so think whatever you’d like. I couldn’t possibly care less.
