- David Daigle raises cattle, timber and kids in the longleaf pine savanna of southwest Louisiana. In this video, he shares 37 years of his conservation knowledge with us and how he manages his grazing lands.

Fantastic accomplishment. It would have been helpful to have included the pasture size grazing rotation schedule.
It could be interesting to see what would happen with Mr. Daigle's land management if he brought in Bison. There is a market for Bison meat.

Consider installing a Screech Owl nest box. Owls eat rodents which host ticks and attract pit vipers.

The musical part is in place and maybe 1/3 to 1/2 of the lyric content as well. Do you know if the Virginia Long Leaf has been able to make a comeback? As well as the Red Cockaded Woodpecker?

Sandy and silty soils but will grow along the US eastern fall line and similar

Fire kills soil microbes. Get a sheep flock following thee cows.
Not as much as a thick mulch of pine straw. It's natural here.

Fire passes fast, it dosent hurt the soil, atleast very deep.
the fire is beneficial. we have lots of plants that wont even germinate without it
Not a low intensity one, which is generally the type of fire disturbance that is administered in these systems
Cool fire is beneficial and makes everything better. Fire fertilizes the microbes and builds better stronger soil.
