Among the Stars did not last long in my collection. It was a different designer that made New Dawn which I really do like. Fields of Green looks appealing mainly due to the theme change.
Great run through as always. I'm a big fan of Among the Stars too, but agree that this looks even better. I will miss the space theme though. The 2 player drafting is actually from the Among the Stars 2 player expansion Revival BTW :)
And one add, I do hope Artipia use a better quality than Pursuit of Happens for some components. Box, cardboard and chits are not that good sadly. Cards are fine, as also the artwork. So I do have good hopes for it ;-)
Hey Richard! While I see your comment in bgg that you traded away Among the Stars to make room for Fields of Green and as you also stated in this video you and Jen like FoG a bit more than AtS, I want to ask you if this still is your opinion. Do you still recommend FoG, even slightly more, than AtS to someone who doesn't own any of them? Thank you!
well, they're pretty close... 85% the same game really. ATS has a lot more expansion content, and it's a lighter game becasue it doesn't have the concept of "feeding" your cards or suffering consequences. FOG is slightly heavier and more challenging because of that extra burden you face as a player. If i had to choose one, it would still be FOG, but we loved ATS too :)
I currently have Among The Stars, with the all the promos/Expanding The Alliance, Ambassadors and YOP(Year of Peace) promo expansion. Base ATS is quite fun(7 Wonders is still my favorite drafting game) but I can see where it will grow stale with just the base game, but that has changed due to the zounds of cards I have for the game. Fields of Green looks really good, despite me liking the theme in ATS over it, but I feel like it will grow old fairly quickly without expansions/promos/etc. I may hold off on it for now, i would love to add it to my collection one day when more content releases for it, and I feel both games will have a spot in my collection. Would've love to see more for ATS, but it is what it is. Great video as always Richard :)
i don't have a final released copy of FoG, just a prototype, so it doens't go on the list. not sure what the other game you're asking about... maybe it's on gone.rahdo.com?
Could you please comment on the replayability of this game? I'm a big among the stars fan, but the base game of AtS become very boring very quick. It became great after I added The Ambasadors :) do you think this will suffer from the same "disease" :)) ?
i would say the base game has about the same level of replayability at ATS (maybe a bit more as it's a more challenging game with more than can happen in a given session)
+rahdo wow world record response time :) What's the coincidence you just posted this video and i can't believe i haven't checked your feed for more than an day.
Among the stars is on my wishlist. I like the sci-fi theme better, but after your run-through I think I might prefer these game mechanics
Yeah same for me. I probably will not buy either because I d be constantly thinking about the other. Perhaps I'm strange, sorry :)

I love farming games!
What do you mean. Games whose theme is farming? No matter the game?
Kosteri x
Yes, farming themed games! Lub them. I think in part because my deep appreciation for the unsung hero that is the farmer.
Seems like a light version of Agricola, will be worth the money.
I like so much that it is so different from Agricola, I hate that game.
Great run through as always. I'm a big fan of Among the Stars too, but agree that this looks even better. I will miss the space theme though. The 2 player drafting is actually from the Among the Stars 2 player expansion Revival BTW :)
yeah, i can't believe i totally forgot about revival! :)
Would like to try it first.
I already have Among the Stars. I don't think I need both. This one looks good though.
Nobody play ats anymore
Great job sir as always. Must say I do like the space more, but it seems like fun euro farming game.
And one add, I do hope Artipia use a better quality than Pursuit of Happens for some components. Box, cardboard and chits are not that good sadly. Cards are fine, as also the artwork. So I do have good hopes for it ;-)
But it nowhere for sale!
Are you actually really in possession of a physical copy of fog?
great

@@rahdo as a family who loves challenge we will go with FoG then :) Thank you!
And do you still own this? There seems to be a expansion coming on kickstarter
yup, and i'm excited to see what they add :)
this seems to be very solitaire compared to among the stars. is it?
i'd say they're comparable

I don't understand, neither of the games seem to be in your top 300: timbal.es/stuff/rahdo-video-list.php
