I took the FTMO challenge 8 times, but only paid for two of them, I was in profit each time but I would always be short on the 10%. I'm now taking the 5%ters summer plan without a time limit and doing much better.
Dude...you message at the end was dope....I am currently doing a challenge now and I will never give up no matter what....I am in positive now so the worse that can happen is that I do a retake so will just learn from my mistakes as I go along
Very honest and truth subject thanks for that. I was considering for taking the ftmo chalenge in januari but could not convinced myself to do so, you really need the lucky strikes in the market to get that target in only 30 days and as you say in the video do not underestimate the psychological pressure that you experience during that period. Thanks for bringing that topic.
Take the challenge once you feel confident! I am sure that if you put the work in, you can indeed do it! I don't know if you have heard of myforexfunds, but I did do a video on them, and they only have an 8% profit target, so they are the ones I will be testing out next!
@@KimmelTrading No not heard of them but in the meantime and second part of my story :) I am funded by CTI you have to make only 6% profit target to go to the next level and they give you an entire year to do that pretty cool hé!
I really fell you, same happened to me as well recently. Most people would give up after that, but through these kind of events happening in our lives (think of things happening in your life for you, instead of to you), we can learn a lot and improve as traders and human beings in general, so that we can comeback stronger! So keep it up. :)

Thanks alot bro... passing ftmo challenge is my dreams somehow and all this informations really helpful for a newbie like me on what I have to prepare before taking the challenges.
Mistakes are blessings, go over the mistakes, figure out what you could've, should've done. The big difference for me was only allowing myself one quality trade per day, I started to watch and wait until price came to my target and execute, make sure the London session volume or New York session volume is pushing your trade into profit. Enter trades on London open or New York open only.
Yeah, I actually also have the London an NY sessions volume into account. I don't really like to trade asia, it is kinda sketchy. And as Big Sean says: "Everything is a blessing depending on the angle"
Ngl a lot of what you said is what I experienced in my first ftmo challenge, always thought time was going too quick when it was 30 days which is plenty of time
the buffer affect just the max drowdown, while the daily drowdown is the same no? the dowdown is not in percentage of the new balance of the account, is evere in percentage of the original account without buffer
Ah ok! I thinked that the max daily drawdown remain the same, for example on an account of 100k, the max daily drawdown is 5%, so 5000k, if the next month i keep the profit on the account (example 1000) tha daily drowdon will be more then 5000?
Most traders beginner or vets don’t have 10% months so that’s not really true about if u never had a month like that don’t try the evaluation. The evaluation has way more extreme conditions that’s temp only just to pass the evaluation it’s all about risk management
Thanx for your tips. I've failed Ftmo challenge, too. Right now I try the challenge of Funding Talent, because the profit target is only 8%,which means less pressure for the 30 days. And I think this is more realistic for traders, because: how many professional traders out there are able to reach 10% or more every month?
the best strategy is to risk 1% and dont aim for anything less than a 1:3RR then if u win increase by risk by 1% and with that youll only need 3 winning trades to pass, or you can do this same process but instead of your 2 trade being a 2% risk it will be 3% (youll only be risking the profit from the previous winning trade)
Another valuable video right there, thanks for sharing your experiences! I always feel inpatient for your next video, glad that they’re popping up more often nowadays. I got a free retake of 100k challenge in January and since that time I am still waiting for a good setup :D not a good sign at all.. btw you know the name of the artist who made those paintings in the background? I also left a 100k challenge retake just sitting for a few months, there is nothing wrong with it! Patience will make us win! Happy to hear that you enjoy the videos, and I really appreciate you saying that! The painter is Carl Spitzweg!
If you learn from your failures, then they aren't really failures and will help to make you a better trader over time. If you keep making the same mistakes, then maybe it is time to think if this is for you or not.
I’ve done mainly 100k challenges. And it is fair that they give you a 10% profit target with a 10% drawdown. Now MyForexFunds has it for 8% profit target and 12% drawdown, which is quite interesting
