lesson learned.. Don't rush things out. there are 30 days challenge, and 60 days verification which equates to 3 months before you become funded. that is equivalent to learning a new course in forex..

We cannot say what is better and what is worse, because something works for one trader and something do not. But to your case in general, during events such as for example US presidential election, the market is often highly volatile before, during and after this type of event. Absolutely, if a trade in opened or closed either SL, TP, Entry level and or manually; All of those actions would imply a breach of the trading restriction. (if they occur 2 min. before or after a restricted news)

During the next Profit Split Day, the account is assessed, and there are two cases that can occur: 1. An account is at a profit at the end of the Profit Split Day - The Profit Split will be processed, and FTMO will not take a share from the profit seen in the account up to the amount of the previous Rollover Reward. --> Example: If your $100K account ends the Profit Split day at $111K and $1K was a Rollover Reward, The maximum eligible withdrawal will be $1K (Rollover Reward) + $10K*account's Profit Split Ratio, so $1K + $8K for most FTMO Accounts or $1K + $9K for Scaled-up accounts. 2. Account is at a loss at the end of the Profit Split Day - The trader continues trading the FTMO Account, and the trading period is automatically extended by 1 month. I was under the impression that once a trader passed both phases that they get funded. In the video however he says that they have to check the trading method to see if it works in the real market. What does that mean? I’m a scalper - I take 7-30 pips of profit and get out. I’m hoping that this method is acceptable. Did anyone ever get declined after passing both phases over just being a quick scalper? Is there any chance of rejection after a successful evaluation and verification process? I mean does successfully passing the evaluation and verification guarantee the funded account.
I am doing a demo and passed only for the first 5 days, and I did not achieve the profit target. The practice is on, and I have another five days. I kept two open positions on the weekend. I think this is maybe a violation of some rule. I may try one more time DEMO (even though I pass all the challenges) where I will strictly follow the position holding and news event.
Once you meet all Trading Objectives, we also have to make sure you are trading according to a real market. If you were, for example, abusing gaps or used other illegitimate practices, we would not progress your account to a later stage. Hello MrKiran, utility bills are not acceptable as a proof of identity. Generally we require official goverment documents like ID card/passport/driving license. In exceptional circumstances, different documents can be considered (university ID cards for refugees for example). The document needs to have a photo, full name and date of birth to be considered.
Please consider allowing Forex traders to hold positions over weekends.This is essential for daily swing traders as we need to hold on to winners for as long as possible to maximize profit.
Unfortunately, we can not offer a solution for this, since we have to avoid potential gaps in the market. Please understand that if we were to allow holding a position over a time period when there is no liquidity, some traders could choose to open very high volume before the market closes which could result in crossing even the Max Loss limit.

Not allowing trades over the weekend means that FTMO does not encourage swing trading ...which in my view gives trader advantage to benefit from big swings and that is not fair ...gaps happens i agree but with stop loss its taken care of ...you need to review weekend trades and allow your traders to be successfull with swings

What are the chances of passing the challenge and if peradventure the trader doesn't pass the challenge, will the initial fee be refunded ? Q2. About the issue of identity verification, here in Nigeria, it is not everybody that has the international passport for verification , over 65% percent of people use the national identity number ( NIN) as means of identification but not all firms accept this. So the question is does FTMO accept the national identity number (NIN) as a means of ID verification?

If we detect an accidental abuse of gaps or frozen data feeds, we generally delete results of that trade(s) or offer you a retake of the evaluation stage. If it was obvious purposeful abuse of the demo account conditions as compared to a real market or a repetetive offense, we might not be as lenient.

lesson learned.. Don't rush things out. there are 30 days challenge, and 60 days verification which equates to 3 months before you become funded. that is equivalent to learning a new course in forex..
Although if you meet the profit requirement early you don't have to wait the full 30 or 60

I am sorry, but we are not allowed to give any advice on your trading style or strategy. It is totally up to you what strategy you pick and use. We cannot say what is better and what is worse, because something works for one trader and something do not.
But to your case in general, during events such as for example US presidential election, the market is often highly volatile before, during and after this type of event.

Absolutely, if a trade in opened or closed either SL, TP, Entry level and or manually; All of those actions would imply a breach of the trading restriction. (if they occur 2 min. before or after a restricted news)

If I am holding a position which I entered 2 hours before an economic event and during that event the impact takes my trade to profit during those 2 minutes and is closed by my TP (not manual) is it a break of rules? You're just not allowed to enter during these 4 mins. Any trade taken before is fine.

Losing on FTMO Account dosn't carry any implications for our future cooperation. We believe that by losing one account, you should actually improve as a trader and thus have no reason not to work with you in the future. You would have to go through the evaluation process again though.

Hello Ashil, If you end in negative, nothing really happens, you just continue trading with your current account equity in the new trading month. If you breach Max Loss or Max Daily Loss and your account ends in loss, we cover all the loses for you.

In case the trader wants to keep part of the profits on the account this sum -Rollover Reward - is deposited to the subsequent FTMO Account that is assigned to the trader for his/her trading period. During the next Profit Split Day, the account is assessed, and there are two cases that can occur: 1. An account is at a profit at the end of the Profit Split Day - The Profit Split will be processed, and FTMO will not take a share from the profit seen in the account up to the amount of the previous Rollover Reward. --> Example: If your $100K account ends the Profit Split day at $111K and $1K was a Rollover Reward, The maximum eligible withdrawal will be $1K (Rollover Reward) + $10K*account's Profit Split Ratio, so $1K + $8K for most FTMO Accounts or $1K + $9K for Scaled-up accounts. 2. Account is at a loss at the end of the Profit Split Day - The trader continues trading the FTMO Account, and the trading period is automatically extended by 1 month. Also, the number of possible changes of Profit Split Day is reset back to 3 and Rollover Reward is reset to 0.

In an FTMO Challenge or Verification, you don’t have to close your positions. During these stages, you can keep your positions open overnight and over the weekend as well.
However, once you become an FTMO Trader and get an FTMO Account, we require you to close your positions just before the markets close for the weekend or if the rollover (market break) is longer than 2 hours.
If you don’t close your positions, it’s breaking of the rules and therefore termination of the FTMO Account on which you didn’t close the position before the weekend.
Keep in mind, the above restrictions don’t apply if you trade cryptocurrencies. Some can be traded during specific hours of the weekend as well.
Additionally, FTMO Traders with the account type FTMO Account Swing do not have restrictions on news trading or holding trades over the weekend.

Once you get the FTMO Account, the drawdown is split into the Maximum Daily Loss and Maximum Loss.
Maximum daily loss is set up to 5% from the initial account balance, so if you have a $200,000 FTMO Account, you must never exceed the total equity loss of $10,000 (5%) in one day.
Maximum Loss is 10% from the initial account balance. Using our previous example of $200,000 FTMO Account, your equity can never be less than $180,000.
Please bear in mind that in both cases we’re talking about the account equity, so it’s sum of both closed and open positions.

If your Stop Loss or Take Profit is triggered during the restricted news event window (2 minutes before and after), it will be considered a violation, even if the levels were set in advance.
However, these restrictions do not apply to the FTMO Swing Account, which allows unrestricted news trading and holding trades during events.

I was under the impression that once a trader passed both phases that they get funded. In the video however he says that they have to check the trading method to see if it works in the real market. What does that mean? I’m a scalper - I take 7-30 pips of profit and get out. I’m hoping that this method is acceptable. Did anyone ever get declined after passing both phases over just being a quick scalper? This is the first time I’m hearing about this “trades check” its hounds like a condition to me when I thought the actual conditions are the 2 phases . Please someone enlighten me. Thanks!

Is there any chance of rejection after a successful evaluation and verification process? I mean does successfully passing the evaluation and verification guarantee the funded account.
I am doing a demo and passed only for the first 5 days, and I did not achieve the profit target. The practice is on, and I have another five days. I kept two open positions on the weekend. I think this is maybe a violation of some rule. I may try one more time DEMO (even though I pass all the challenges) where I will strictly follow the position holding and news event.
Once you meet all Trading Objectives, we also have to make sure you are trading according to a real market. If you were, for example, abusing gaps or used other illegitimate practices, we would not progress your account to a later stage. You also have to be of the age of majority in order to get the FTMO Account, but in case you weren't, we could create the FTMO Account in the name of your legal deputy. If you trade according to our rules and pass the Verification, you will get an FTMO Account.

utility bills are not acceptable as a proof of identity. Generally we require official goverment documents like ID card/passport/driving license. In exceptional circumstances, different documents can be considered (university ID cards for refugees for example). The document needs to have a photo, full name and date of birth to be considered.
Please consider allowing Forex traders to hold positions over weekends.This is essential for daily swing traders as we need to hold on to winners for as long as possible to maximize profit.
Unfortunately, we can not offer a solution for this, since we have to avoid potential gaps in the market. Please understand that if we were to allow holding a position over a time period when there is no liquidity, some traders could choose to open very high volume before the market closes which could result in crossing even the Max Loss limit.

Not allowing trades over the weekend means that FTMO does not encourage swing trading ...which in my view gives trader advantage to benefit from big swings and that is not fair ...gaps happens i agree but with stop loss its taken care of ...you need to review weekend trades and allow your traders to be successfull with swings
Gaps can by pass your SL and close you out at a bigger loss
Unfortunately, if we allowed to run trades over the weekend, it could even stretch losses way over the Max Loss limit. We simply can not accept risk that high.

About the issue of identity verification, here in Nigeria, it is not everybody that has the international passport for verification , over 65% percent of people use the national identity number ( NIN) as means of identification but not all firms accept this. So the question is does FTMO accept the national identity number (NIN) as a means of ID verification?

It is very rare to happen and the cases are assess on individual basis. If we detect an accidental abuse of gaps or frozen data feeds, we generally delete results of that trade(s) or offer you a retake of the evaluation stage. If it was obvious purposeful abuse of the demo account conditions as compared to a real market or a repetetive offense, we might not be as lenient.
