When I bow hunt, if it is more than a 10-12 yard shot I aim low and straight up the front leg so when it drops I am still double lunged and top of heart. I have learned to do this just from my own mistakes and hunting. If it’s in the 12 or less then I don’t aim as low but it’s still habit to aim low anyway and if they don’t have that time to drop then I still hit all heart. Straight up from the front leg. Don’t go back and definitely don’t aim cent mass like you would with a gun because you will either shoot over or wound the animal and never recover it. They will always drop and that will be the very first thing they do to load them legs so they can explode out. After I learned this I never understood why people say they jumped the string. This is where video has been a huge study guide in this day in age.
With a firearm I take the high shoulder drop’’em in their tracks shot. With a bow I take the double lung shot. To me those are the best two options on deer.
If you shot with a gun and hit the actual shoulder blade they will drop instantly due to the nerves that run there. Obviously with a bow that arrow can and will still go through that but you definitely loose penetration some but it just don’t have that same shockwave as a bullet to the shoulder blade. If it works it works but I think it’s a very bad habit to shoot the neck
Well depicted, showing the true front leg position isn’t all that common. Thanks
You bet thanks for being a part of the Raised Family!

Where I hunt, if you dont drop her right there, she runs downhill 500 yards. High shoulder/shoulder blade. DRT.
From a elevated stand they are blowing through the shoulder

I have always shot them in the neck, and they have always dropped in their tracks.
Cool to know
