That clip of the 'chubbier' guy crashing into his friend before turning right is part of a longer video, that depicted a very under prepared/unskilled novice rider that couldn't properly stop at traffic lights and would go past the line an into intersections by at least 5 feet.
The guy in front was his buddy and supposedly was teaching him how to ride. Probably would be fun to watch the whole thing, though MotoControl already did a piece on it.
But the whole ordeal is baffling

    • @MrBCRC
      @MrBCRC 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@dttyson1078 There's multiple issues. If you watch the motocontrol video you will see that the lead rider could have hired a marching band, billboards, cheerleaders and any other thing you care to mention to indicate the upcoming turn and the guy behind would have still ridden into him. Guy behind was too busy instagramming while singing into the cardo.
But you do raise a problem with cardo's that people are overlooking and a reason I won't use them. They reduce all communications to the cardo instead of the observations people should be making.
If you didn't have a cardo the expectation would be that we use our signals properly and riders behind would be paying better attention to what's in front instead of singing to the point that the communications they're relying on can no longer be heard.

I'm always looking up between the cars/lanes. and when everyone came to a sudden stop from 100km/h, I discovered that factory fitted ADV tyres, a single front disc and ABS reducing my braking ability meant that there was no chance in hell of stopping as fast as the cars. I ended up pulling and pushing on the brakes so damn hard with very little braking happening, that I had no choice but to go up the Gap. TBH the ABS has caused problems for me more than once, It literally refuses to let the bike stop in a hurry!
People in cars probably think I'm an A hole for doing it, but when I see a car I don't trust, I will keep back in the other lane and watch them for a minute before I accelerate past them & go back to the speed limit once I'm past them. I never want them in a position where I can't see them in my mirror & where I can't see them easily with a turn of the head (even though they seem determined to be there) and I need to know they know I am there. and with the bike being so ridiculously quiet, the only way they can know is if I am in front of them or can see them looking at me in the mirror!

13:45 this is probably the "close call' I experience most often. The car driver starts to pull out for a turn, then recognizes I'm coming and stops on instinct, partially blocking the lane. It's part of why you go slower in areas with a lot of intersections or parking lots.

One could argue the exam to obtain a driving license for motorcycles here in Poland is ridiculous. A lot of gotcha requirements and seemingly senseless tasks, but when I see the mirrors of that Yamaha in the first clip, it starts to make sense you can fail an exam here by not adjusting your mirrors theatrically in front of the examiner before you are even allowed to start off.

From the title of your video - I know exactly how to reduce accidents - adopt the UK process. You have to complete a CBT (Compulsary Basic Training) which allows you ride up to.a 125cc motorcycle. Then, depending on your age, you must get a special licence (A1,A2 or A) to ride a motorcycle. I believe in the US you can just get on a bike and ride - this is why people crash!

Nah we better than that. In the US you have to have a normal driver's license and a motorcycle endorsement. Some states require you to have a whole license for it which is like the endorsment(To drive legally anyway, we all know there are some who ride dirty and never got the license). I think a state or two you don't need a motorcycle endorsment just a drivers license but idk, you never really know with each indiviual state😅.

Here in sweden we have Landsväg 76 wich has a lot of crashes due to most of it being a small road with a speed limit of 80kmh on most parts and blind corners and heavy traffic so lots of trucks crash and flip over
Also people think they can do an overtake and sometimes it ends up with a head on collision.

Why do so few riders use their horn?! I honk, and so far, it's worked. I don't get why ppl don't honk. 🤷🏽‍♂️

"And this was the end of me riding LA streets" 🤦‍♂️
Girl, all street corners look like that. Next town over is still gonna have street corners.
    You best just quit.

7:51 thats what happens when you take your mirrors off for "looks cool man" sake.
You cant watch in them and move out the way. Then get rammed by your buddy.

5:30 made me cringe.. He should have slowed down to let the car in instead of fighting for the lane..
    It was an ego challenge..

Dan, middle of the lane is almost never the correct lane position. you should be thinking " where should I be that will allow the most amount of people, especially people who are more likely to need to see me, as possible." inside of the lane yeah you're closer to oncoming traffic but you gain a lot more situational awareness. sitting in the middle or outside when you're behind a car, an oncoming person wanting to turn left might think you are a gap in traffic and shoot for it. idk why but you cruiser guys love pretending to be cars and sit in the middle of the road.

@@TheDragorin Some years ago in the UK, a biker took a truck driver to court, because the truck hit the biker when it was pulling out of a side road onto the main road. The biker was cruising along the middle of the highway, rather than the middle of the lane, approaching the truck head on. The truck driver didn't make any allowance that the front of his truck would swing out into the biker's lane. The biker hit the truck, which went into his lane and he lost his leg. The judge said that the biker should have been riding in the middle of his lane and not the middle of the highway. The biker lost his claim for any compensation.
The UK Highway Code, that the police and courts use as guidance in prosecutions, says bikers and cyclists should position themselves in the middle of the lane, not the outside nor the inside, but should give way to faster traffic.

It simply depends on the situation, in curves and blind corners it is best to stick to the middle giving yourself ample room to evade but on the highway I like position 1

There should be a law that prevents women from starting on anything faster than 300cc or riding crotch rockets as a first bike. Women seem to ride cruisers just fine. Turn signals are the last thing on my concern list unless it’s heavy traffic
