    The statement...."Going back to work" implys that there isn't work happening remotely. I absolutely hate working back in the office. Nothing but dealing with folks that need therapy. Micro-aggressions and slights all day. Additionally, mask hate...people bothered that you wear your mask. I need a stipend for all the therapy sessions I need to deal with these adult children...😨😫😠😤

    I’m in Canada and our government wants us to go back as well. I’m an administrative assistant. I’ve been 1000% more effective working from home. I don’t have an office of people wandering up to me to make small talk, to bother me about things they don’t want to do, to be sent on wild goose-chases… I will lose so much productivity by going back. But they want us back because “networking and in-person collaboration brings real, tangible results.” I’m not networking no where with no body. I go to meetings virtually and take minutes, I book meetings virtually for my teams, I do my work, file my docs, order my supplies, do ALL the things I need to do. And I get to do it all in my slippers, sweats and bra less!
    Going back is just stupid.

      No Otis. Do some research on pregnancy, the toll it takes on the woman's body (even if it's a perfectly healthy baby), and the dangers associated with it. The elders used to say that the angel of death walks around a woman's bed 3 times when when she's giving birth - and that doesn't take into account the other 9 mobths. A friend of mine miscarried about a month in and almost died (twice) from a pulmonary embolism as a result. If anyone is at risk of dying in this process, it's her. And the way her brain is set up I'm pretty sure that if she goes ahead with this pregnancy she'll amend her will to ensure that her child is financially taken care of in the event of her untimely demise.

    The laby at 30:00 is in the right. They have a 50/50 relationship. Having a kid makes things 70/30. Especially when you aren’t legally married. Drawing up a contract to maintain the 50/50 relationship is smart.

    • @kickrockspleze
      @kickrockspleze 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with that, but to play devil's advocate, if they both want to have the child, then they both have to take a loss, but with this contract, he wold be the only one taking a financial loss therefore it's not really 50/50. I think they need to not have kids, but having children should never be a business transaction.

    • @urloudandwrong
      @urloudandwrong 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @R C she's agreed to take financial loss if she loses over 6months of work. that's how I knew she wanted that kid lol cuz her contract didn't even take into account the physicality of carrying

      @Zuri Taylor how is she not taking a loss for those 6 months?

    • @Quiche1
      @Quiche1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Zuri Taylor For a surrogate as Angel said, the price starts at 50,000. Also child birth is very taxing on a woman’s body. If she has to hire help because she has complications from birth (cesarean) or suffer from postpartum, she would be the one to pay for it. Her asking for that amount from a man who could leave her without repercussions (because they are not legally married) while she is pregnant with their child is fair.

    For thousands of years, people worked their land, with their family, all day, at home. But over the last 150 years or so, as society has "advanced," life (school, jobs, daycare, etc) has taken us away from the home from a young age. I think people have gotten a taste of what it feels like to live the way we were designed to live, and they don't want to give it up because it feels right.

    • @c0wboys4life

      @@RedDevil_Joe yeah and not too long ago women was in a worse position. Before women could work or get an education, they were practically forced to get married to abusive, self serving men for survival. Men were legally allowed to physically harm their wives and women were not allow to divorce men. If men decided to divorce, they took everything from the wife. Including the children. Only thing women could do was remarry. So honestly, when I think about that, I don't feel too sorry for men today. Also, now days women who are breadwinners get taken to court for alimony also.

      I disagree as far as the issue being the lack of valuing marriage. If he expected her to still operate 50/50 financially while making substantially less and recovering from childbirth, for sure draw up a contract and make him pay. I guess where I’m confused is, are some folks really that weird about money in relationships? Maybe I’m too broke but if that’s wifey then the money we make is ours and we’re just conscious about saving and spending on necessities vs recreational stuff. Idk the whole relationship sounds really weird to me.

    I love that for the contract lady. She has things that she pays for solely because their finances are separate and those things still are going to need to be paid for. Also the way things are all broken down 50/50 wise and the way she wrote up that 16 page contract lets me know that she probably has a type A personality so this can't possibly be the first time that she has operated in this manner. He's just acting surprised cuz it's directed towards him and they're Maybe baby? Think she's just trying to make sure that she is secure and well taken care of and that's one less worry that she has to worry about. Half of her pay for 6 months that is a lot of money and she seems like she's probably very independent and doesn't want to have to ask her partner for money anytime she needs to do something.
    Not to mention the physical and psychological changes she will go through. Childbirth is dangerous not to sound dramatic but that lady literally could die the least he could do is pay her.
