The filmed inserts were the only surviving elements the BBC kept; everything else they junked of that final series of specials after Benny signed with Thames.
I wonder if Hill's defection had a bearing on the conceptual meetings that led to the birth of "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (though it wouldn't have started out that way), insofar as:
    - Before Benny signed, John Cleese had suggested to the BBC that he and Graham Chapman be joined in this new show by Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin (and on the side, animator Terry Gilliam).
    - At the time, Idle, Jones and Palin (and Gilliam) had finished the second series of Thames' "Do Not Adjust Your Set"; the company expressed interest in a third series, but said they couldn't commit to studio space for same till August 1970 (it sounds like, after Benny signed with them, it seemed to go into the BBC's head that Thames were more interested in snapping up Hill - who had no issues with securing studio space for his specials - than seeing one of their own "different" shows develop and grow - never mind that besides Hill, Thames had their hands full with Tommy Cooper, Bernard Cribbins, Dickie Henderson and "Father, Dear Father" among others).
As well, reviewing old Spotlight casting directories, it occurred to me that none of the supporting players nor unbilled extras on "Python" were clients of Benny's agent Richard Stone.
