The stages and backgrounds of this game are amazing. Always loved the stage at 3:18 I remember playing this in the arcades before going to see a movie. Arcades were the greatest times of my life as a kid. My father used to take me to the mall and it would be me and him and we would play Tekken 3 vs people. He used to play Lei Wulong and he would always do the lay down moves and then kick people. That cracks me up just thinking of it now.
I noticed that Justin has a good balance of offense and defense, a lot of these combo dudes lack in the defense department, they go all out too much to get a good combo and dont block enough or have the experience to block at the right time.
I've seen Cyclops block Storm's attacks quite a few times. I think it's more about not using the same moves twice in order to keep your opponent guessing.

I play tekken but I’m always impressed by how technical these 2D fighters are. The timing is amazing to chain combos. You are really good lol. Great games
1:49 best feature of VS series was pressing start after you win to keep fighting after you won. I stopped playing Madden when they removed the feature where you can tackle your opponents while they celebrate a touchdown or they win the game.

Only because of a portion of dedicated players who don't abandon the games right away to focus on the sequel. Especially as games had a 1-2 year release window back then. Like all Marvel games were released yearly from 1994 to 2000... except a 1 year skip from MvC1 to MvC2. With that release pace there was no time to optimize the gameplay in such a complex system.
X-men s street fighter IS my favorite, there isn’t a debate for me. The nostalgia and it being one of the very first crossover fighting games makes it #1.

XVSF was a game where Capcom introduced the white flashes in the gameplay for some reason. And it was kept in MVSF and MVC1, but nerfed. Maybe another game invented a white flash trend and Capcom wanted to use the idea. I know other fighting games from other companies also used flashes in the mid 90s, but it was removed later. Which is why it feels like a trend. The classic game that kept flashes for the longest imo was KOF.
