Your balcony looks gorgeous! What unique and beautiful native plants. Please share when they bloom. Wow, the maiden hair fern is beautiful. Love how you decorate the wood shelf unit...so cute. The lights bring a nice touch of coziness to the evening. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Donna, there will be a bit of a learning cure with the new plants! I can't take credit for the maiden hair as it is brand new. I'm told they can do well outside in this climate. So am really hoping I can keep it beautiful and thriving. 😍
It’s SO beautiful! You are so lucky. You can leave your plants out in the winter? I live in New York State and nothing can stay out on my patio, winter is tough here. It does make me extra grateful when summer comes.
Thanks Laura! Of course, you have much harsher winters than we have in Melbourne. I've chosen plants that should do ok in this climate. But am still getting to know the balcony space and where best to keep each plant. 😍
Beautiful transformation. I love your idea to choose some Australian natives, I hadn't thought of that. We have a beautiful prostrate banksia next to our fish pond and it is looking stunning right now. I'd love to have a pot of something similar. What's your secret to keeping your maiden hair fern looking so large and healthy? I also love your lights. Where do you find them?
Thanks Rena! How lovely, I had no idea there were so many different types of banksia. I hope mine will flower next year. The maiden hair is brand new. So I can't claim credit for its current state. But am determined to keep it alive as long as I can. I got most of the lights on sale at Bunnings. But I'll probably return them, as they don't stay charged for very long. It might be a bit of trial and error till I get the right ones. 😍
@@teawithlilibet we bought some little mushroom shaped mood lamps that run on both mains power and rechargeable batteries. They were not cheap but they seem to stay charged for many hours. They have 3 settings for brightness. They also had other styles. I have also bought a couple of battery operated candles that are similar to those used in churches but short and fat. They are either from Bed Bath & Table or Adairs for a great price. I have been running them for hours at all our OFI and they are still going strong. You have to remove the batteries to recharge them. Our house sold today for an amazing price by the way. Now we are busy selling all our furniture and will have to hunt for a new home as we only have 60 days to move out. Good luck finding the right lights.
@@justnoticing Congratulations on selling your home!! You must be so relieved and happy. I've just bought a better quality light from Beacon that sounds similar to yours. I'll check out the candle ones you've suggested. All the best with finding your new home ❤
