I see chatter on that finish!!
Where?
@@danl.4743 The shaft.
Thank you very much for seeing it!
Well... Easy way to get rid of it: first of all, you are making a copy of door key on a laser cutter, so you can operate this thing with open door. At second you take some sandpaper and polish this thing until it shines like balls of the cat.
Thats what we Turning Guys call SFM Zonk, those SFM Zonks tend to like a little more cutting force with a deeper depth of cut, and a little bit more feed, but that tool angle doesn't offer any favors either, considering what's there it's a pretty decent little guy :P them small parts and them raging RPMs I tell ya,
It's nice that the cutting bits also look like art.

Fair play lad.
There is a reason for manual and CNC. Manual is a great way to learn the mathematics and then apply it to CNC and your life will be easier and you will make more interesting parts ..

Were the tweezers necessary?
Thank you for your comment!
Yes, we took safety into consideration!
@@TungaloyCorporation you used your hands when placing it into the holder. So make the tweezers make sense when taking it out of the box? Are you just so corporate that you can’t admit that’s redundant?
@@ogliberty5486 It was difficult to insert with tweezers and was set by hand. Thanks to the gloves, I was able to set it without problems!
@@TungaloyCorporationso why use the tweezers? Can you just say it was for the video? Because they serve no function.
@@ogliberty5486 When attaching the insert to the holder, it was difficult to do with tweezers, so I attached it with gloves on.
Although it is possible to remove the insert by hand, we used tweezers to avoid making it difficult for the viewer to see the insert.
This is what i want to do.... Machining with all old-school type machinery, really want to step up and learn CNC programming etc. i feel it's the next level to progress in machining. That and a metal additive 3D printing!
You are a future engineer! That's amazing!
@@TungaloyCorporation thank you, I've always been a mechanic and worked with machining equipment, like lathes, presses, numerous metal fabrication tools and also welding.... And have always loved engineering on a small scale, producing parts or tool's needed for things I didn't have or part's I couldn't afford. Always have been computer literate, CNC programming and additive manufacturing with semi precious metals seems so appealing and because there are things I want that I only want to build.... NOT BUY

Incrível uma ferramenta de cerâmica q corta o aço ....
Ceramic is just metal that's too hard to melt and must be sintered :) well... that's reducing it incredibly, but the point stands, it's just mostly made of other metals
The pressure on the tip of that insert must be ridiculous. Carbide is amazing stuff.

Question.. what type of VNMG insert is that? I’m trying to find a good replacement for ones I’m currently using. I’ve tried sandvik, widia, and iscar. The iscar 807 is the best result so far getting a tool life of 150 hits. The others barely make it to 100 before chipping out.
Thank you for your question.
Could you tell me about the work material to be machined and the machining conditions?
@@TungaloyCorporation the hardness varies there is no consistency. But usually between 4-10. It seems like the softer the material the worse it gets. The harder material we are breaking inserts. Feed rates are adjusted per specs. As well as spindle speeds. And I’ve tried slowing them down and speeding them up. The chipper inserts just aren’t doing what they are meant to do!
Damn we came from knowing only how to light a fire to this 😳
