Kelly Goodrich & Sam Hitchcock 'Impromp-Two' Documentary

50 years ago on Friday, May 3rd, 1974, Kelly Goodrich and Sam Hitchcock formed a musical duo and named it the ‘Impromp-Two,’ a bit of word play that perfectly suited their presentation. The two went on to become wildly popular in the east-central Ohio area, playing night clubs, parties, community events etc.
Their unique approach was most notable in that Kelly and Sam both sang, and played drums as well as keyboards, as they would switch positions at random times during any given gig. The mainstay of the keyboard rig was a 450 lb. Hammond B3 Organ and Leslie speaker cabinet, which set the Impromp-Two apart from other local acts.
In this video (which was recorded April 1st, 2021), Sam and Kelly reminisce about how the duo came to be, visited some of the musical equipment they used, and even jammed on a few tunes from their repertoire from the 70’s. It was definitely a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
