Today I received diagnosis 13 & 14 (I know, I think I deserve a place in the Guinness Book of Records as well 😒😮💨), and I just really hate my life right now. Have been lying awake for hours - not just from pain and other symptoms, but from a racing mind. Luckily there's TH-cam and The Pointe Shop to distract me a tiny bit. Wishing everyone health and happiness.

Easier to add to it and print out anew to hand over at the appointment than to sit there and interrupt the specialist every 5 minutes with an "Oh wait! And then there's...". Been there, done that... didn't even get a t-shirt! Well, my fellow chargie/spoonie/ quite likely awesome person who deserves better; wishing you many more fun videos to distract from the crap that's called daily life and as far as possible much health, happiness and a great sense of humour 😊.
Are those actually… old demi pointe shoes??? Like the shoes you get just before actual pointe shoes to help you get used to how actual pointe shoes feel on your feet? The shank and the toe box would already be super soft and you don’t have to break them in at all, you wear them like flats and just do high relevés in them in the place of pointe. My teacher called them trainer wheels-the extra wheels on your bicycle when you are just starting to learn how to ride? They feel exactly like pointe shoes but you cannot go en pointe in them safely.
If you're talking about 3:41 to me they just looked like regular flat ballet shoes - definitely not pointe shoes. But maybe you're right, maybe they could be demi pointe shoes. Although they're still looking super flat/tight to the foot to even be demi's 🤷🏼♀

My Dreampointe 2007s would be dead when the back of the platform started sinking and pulling me off pointe. Usually there was like 4 layers of jet glue in by the time it was all the way done. Now that I’m in a fully synthetic shoe, they last a long time but wear out very weirdly. These videos are why I will never bother trying Freed, as it would increase my pointe shoe spending at least fourfold.

I DO love Lori, she is so clear, patient and fun to listen to and she is honest about everthing in her career. If you want to influence Ballet and pointe work, do it like her...! It's not my problem but with some content creators and yes also the people who are "dancing" on Amazon Shoes... Orrrr for real never ever buy Day Dance "Pointe shoes" wherever you may see them online... They look pretty real in the pictures.... Until you rip them apart to see what those shoes are made from. For your own safety; Just. Don't. 😩

Oh! Hmmm, so -if I ever get there - I suspect I will kill shoes rapidly. Heck, my hard feet used to deactivate my steel toe factory worker boots regularly, (coal tar distillary and laborer.) Then when I was a runner too, (hard feet just kill shoes and I am ONLY, only just going to try ballet for a good fair effort, as a beginner 58 year old.) :)

Omg I had a pair of shoes break just like the one at 0:50 where it kind of bulged out at the ball of the foot? It was a new style I hadn't worn before and they fit amazing in the shop (they looked just like the shoes at 1:05 ) but then that happened after less than 5 hours of dancing in them? Like what causes that to happen?
I enjoy watching Josephine's reaction videos except for the addition of the random distortions of Josephine's voice. Although I like her comments on the videos, I find the distortions distracting. To avoid this I turn the sound OFF and the CC ON when viewing The Pointe Shop reaction videos, which is a shame because Josephine's natural voice is quite nice and I miss *hearing* her opine on what she's watching. ☹️
There's no left or right, so when you get a new pair you mark your shoes so you know which one is which. Usually people will pick one shoe to be left and one shoe to be right, however if you have one foot that tends to kill pointe shoes faster then you can alternate them to help them last a bit longer!
