- Yup, it’s like a mini vending machine restaurant with soup, sandwich and dessert (ice cream) with clean tables and a sink! It’s also part of a pretty restaurant building off the Kanda River. Definitely worth a trip if your in the Akihabara area. Mansei has been making boxed sandwiches since 1949 and they’re pretty tasty!

Oh, if only I’d know. My hotel was literally a block away. What a wonderful place Tokyo/Japan is. Truly one of the most underrated places in the world (and I say that as someone that had high expectations... Japan greatly exceeded).

I love her too ❤️👩🏻🤠 I think it may be possible in the future esp with digital security and electronic ID etc. kind of scary but also means people are accountable for their actions including vandalism. Actually drink vending machines have a cell phone signal in them that alerts the police if they’re tampered with! That shocked me when I made my first Japanese vending machine episode in 2013.

These sandwitches are garantee. In front of this vending machine, there is a famous meat specialty store(round building), and there is always fresh stuff available under the management of the restaurant.

From what I've heard Hire Katsu also contains less fat than standard Rosu Katsu so they need to use a higher quality pork so that it doesn't dry out while cooking. I usually prefer the Rosu Katsu whenever I go out for Katsu just because I enjoyed the strip of fat that came along the side.

All I would be doing is eating if I was there as a tourist. So many great foods, snacks, candies, soups, drinks and ice cream to enjoy. Granted, I could skip a lot of the candy since I get them monthly with the Japan Crate and Tokyo Treat boxes, as well as purchasing items from local Asian markets near me, but it would be difficult to not be snacking all the time. I so want to try that tiramisu ice cream. That's one of my favorite deserts. I've tried the Pepsi Refresh Shot. Tastes no different than the normal one IMO. Still good, just in a small can. Nice, a Gashapon machine with miniature Gohan at 36:52. I have one like the noodle bowl in the middle, but mine is black with four slices of mini corn, two small bread buns with cross pattern cuts on the top, some scallion rings and a piece of broccoli above the noodles. Got it years ago in a Tokyo Treat box. What's with the girl in a fur lined coat and high heel black shoes standing in the road at 51:58? She looks like a hooker. LOL There's an ad sign in her hand, but it looks like she doesn't give a crap about showing it to anyone.
When the day comes for me to visit Japan, ill be looking forward for Johns guide for around Tokyo.

If I remember correctly, theres a cool little brewery just to the left of where john started the video. Pretty nice to have a beer and look at the river in the summer.
HITACHINO from Ibaraki Prefecture (just north of Tokyo) has a mini craft beer pub right on the river by the bridge.

That is what gets me about using public bathrooms in any store in America. The people are so gross and inconsiderate of others. I used to work in a super market and I always dreaded cleaning the bathrooms because of the nastiness of the customers. The men's room wasn't as bad as the women's. Ahhhhh! I have 3 major pet peeves: dirty kitchen, clothes laying all over the place and most of all a Filthy Bathroom. Japan is a perfect place for me. But I alas, can't afford to move or live there. So, I live in Japan vicariously through you and your wife by watching your live streams. Thank you!

I gave Mike Chen the same info regarding his alcohol intolerance. If you can find Pepcid AC Complete (antacid tablets) in Japan, the enzymes in the tablets will break down the alcohol and prevent Kanae from feeling ‘allergic’ to alcohol

For these particular sandwiches, it’s the same. It’s across the street from the sandwich company’s office so I’m sure it’s the freshest ones. But I ate this in my sandwich video on the main channel and it’s the same although you don’t pay tax from vending machines 🧐
