A ride down Madonna del Ponte

As we go down the main via in town, you will see shops, restaurants, fish vendor, bars, and the main church. At both ends of town are the grocery stores. At night, most of this road is closed to vehicles. During the day, it is a one-way. #sicilia #balestrate #siciliabedda

@theSicilianLife that was around 9:30 am. Then around 3pm it looks a ghost town! The piazza is a fabulous place…. Shade and benches. Thanks for watching!!!!

@salvoreemma im not sure they ever get ash over on this side of the island. I know very rarely the Palermo airport might shut down. We are safe over here!

How did you guys chose a small town like Balestrate to be the place to retire in?

@@JoeElitetile we looked for somewhere close to the airport and nice beach. We came to Balestrate to check it out and felt right at home.

@JoeElitetile we had a wish list and Balestate fit most. We would have liked to move to his ancestral town of Caccamo, but no sea view or passagiate.
