Your intro is unique. It's what makes you (arguably) stand out from other Gay podcasts/channels. As a not-so-long-time listener, the energy is what makes me listen more. I'm an introvert and so I already understand what "quiet energy" means. Why would I need or crave it more from the outside when I already have that in me, simply won't make sense. Your opposite, hey-wake-up-little-shit! energy is what I need so I don't get stuck in my headspace and get too comfortable.
This may sound counter-intuitive, but as someone with a lot of trauma around men, (cishet mostly, but also in general) I love episodes with them. It humanizes them and allows me to see they can be good people too.

Ashley, to answer your question about the intros, I don't want you to "be" any particular way other than yourself, other than honest and authentic. If you're feeling really high energy, then have a high energy intro. If you're having more of a low-key energy day, then have a lowkey energy intro. I'll never forget the episode you and Kate did at Chrissy's place, in response to Kate's "snake nest", when you said "This is why I love this podcast - because we get to these very real places, and we're still f**king idiots". It's authentically real, authentically funny, authentically high energy and moments of being sombre. Also in the Q&A you did with Jen when she answered one of the things she liked most about you, was that you're fun and silly. Being a comedian is who you are, and we are here for it.

I did want to mention though (and I hate being that person), but usually folks use the term "STI" now instead of "STD" because its a bit more of an accurate term and there's way less historical/political baggage associated with it. I guess STD is still used but I just thought I would throw that in there as someone who works in the medical field.
