I am so appreciative of this entire podcast. Specifically the part about the abusive relationship. I am currently going through the healing process and no contact with my ex. We were together for a year and a half and I’ve been no contact with her for over 7 months now. Any time I’d ever vent to my mom or friends about my abuse everyone would constantly look at me like I was stupid or get mad at me and tell me to just leave or walk away when it wasn’t ever easy because I loved her so much and I wanted it to work so badly. My emotions these days are a roller coaster. One day I’m really good and I’m happy and thriving and then there’s other days where I dissociate heavily and get triggered by every single thing that anyone says or does. If I see certain things, my life has been so very low-key these days to protect myself and my peace and mental health. I’ve been watching Ali and Hallyn for over a year so far and I’ve been watching your podcast for over a year as well and I just want to say that all of you have helped me in so many ways and have really helped my mental health and keep me holding on and not giving up. I appreciate every single one of your existence so much. Thank you so much for being here and for being the amazing, kind and understanding human beings that you are. I have nowhere else to tell this joke and no idea how to set it up but here I go: So I my therapist thinks I'm autistic. The tip off for her, other than ya know, kinda everything about me, was my sensory issues that I described to her. I started attending monthly Occupational Therapy appointment for said sensory issues and I was honestly making great strides until my insurance was like "no no no, you don't need that." So then I'm left with just the few coping skills I learned in the handful of appointments I had. And I'm trying to think of things I could do as OT at home. I have some issues with slimy textures, as well as experiencing new tastes. So I thought, I could eat pussy and call it OT! Perfect. Anyway. That's it. Time to start the podcast. Have a good day!

This is so clarifying. I listened Rachel’s podcast and at first thought alli and ashley were the same person. But I was so confused why alli had a wife and suddenly 2 weeks later Ashley came on and was no longer married. I have been thinking about this for so long and I’m happy to find out that I’m just crazy and cannot remember names.
This podcast has been a stable connection to my queer identity for a couple years now, which has been more helpful than you could ever know. It's been very difficult for me to feel like part of the community as I'm 20yrs old living in an incredibly Christian home and I was the "straight" and devoted minister's daughter until I was 17. It was such a huge part of my life and when I left the church, I left the only community I really had. My family accepts me and loves me regardless but its still hard not to feel like a naive young girl when I'm disagreeing with my them, especially cause my parents both have a masters degree in theology and 30+ years of working in churches. I often feel too inexperienced and disconnected from the lgbt+ community but this podcast has helped me unlearn my fears surrounding queerness and sex. I'm currently listening to this in my family home, sitting in the living room because I no longer hide in my bedroom to watch queer content. You have genuinely been a huge part of accepting myself and sexuality.

Ok but actually… story time! So, I make pottery. A friend of mine also makes pottery and her forms are incredible. I knew her from the studio and I had almost never seen the final decorated forms. Only stuff in progress. And I think I knew she was gay but like I clearly wasn’t paying attention…. I saw her at a show, selling her finished pottery. Her partner clearly standing next to her. I noticed she had a mug with these GORGEOUS and I mean GORGEOUSLY hand drawn intricate kind of old fashioned looking scissors. One on top of the other. And I picked up the mug and I was like “oh my god I love this! This reminds me of those coveted scissors my mom only took out for sewing that I was never allowed to use.” And she just looked at me. i go to college 6 hours away from home so anytime i have to drive home or to school, i listen to podcasts (usually whgs or chosen family) to pass the time
after this i feel like i should share my love for the pod. i’m an emt and work night shift, it gets pretty lonely since it’s night time and all my friends and family are asleep including my ldr gf. i listen every night on my way home or on my way to the gym from work and it’s so many topics and perspectives from you, your guest and your beautiful cohosts that you’ve had. you’re a truly kind sweet and hilarious host. also shoutout to the other pod chosen family. shout that out here too lol!!

I am a Non-binary college student how grew up in a small town in PA, and this podcast was just a little gift in a town where I was called slurs when I walked around. Now I am in Boston(Ashley drop the date, I could get 20 people at the show in 3 mins) and I have so many queer friends but I come back to the show because it reminds me that my little gay family is everywhere. This podcast has been a stable connection to my queer identity for a couple years now, which has been more helpful than you could ever know. It's been very difficult for me to feel like part of the community as I'm 20yrs old living in an incredibly Christian home and I was the "straight" and devoted minister's daughter until I was 17. It was such a huge part of my life and when I left the church, I left the only community I really had. My family accepts me and loves me regardless but its still hard not to feel like a naive young girl when I'm disagreeing with my them, especially cause my parents both have a masters degree in theology and 30+ years of working in churches. I often feel too inexperienced and disconnected from the lgbt+ community but this podcast has helped me unlearn my fears surrounding queerness and sex. I'm currently listening to this in my family home, sitting in the living room because I no longer hide in my bedroom to watch queer content. You have genuinely been a huge part of accepting myself and sexuality.

Ok but actually… story time! So, I make pottery. A friend of mine also makes pottery and her forms are incredible. I knew her from the studio and I had almost never seen the final decorated forms. Only stuff in progress. And I think I knew she was gay but like I clearly wasn’t paying attention….
I saw her at a show, selling her finished pottery. Her partner clearly standing next to her. I noticed she had a mug with these GORGEOUS and I mean GORGEOUSLY hand drawn intricate kind of old fashioned looking scissors. One on top of the other. And I picked up the mug and I was like “oh my god I love this! This reminds me of those coveted scissors my mom only took out for sewing that I was never allowed to use.” And she just looked at me. My boyfriend looked at me. There was silence. Then she was like, no Lindsay like… ✂️ ❤

as someone who goes to school in the middle of a forest it is SO common for people to bring a couple blankets and a pillow to have sex in the forest. people even have sex on the hammocks on campus. so at least for the forest i just stay away during spring, fall, and summer and if i hear weird noises from the trees i walk the other way.
