I think back to 1998 when RUSH released their 4th live album called Different Stages. The 3rd disc was of songs recorded from a concert performed at this venue during their A Farewell to Kings Tour in February 1978. Oh, to have been there; yet, I was only 8 years old, and hadn't even heard of RUSH yet. But I would. And the products, and the knowledge of that band to come. With that, to now have available the whole show recorded here.
The Odeon Hammersmith although still in use has a music venue and theatre now it remains almost intact inside with its original features in situ . I prefer it myself when it was a cinema which it was original built for and was indeed vast inside its splendid auditorium. It's better to be in use rather than closed or demolished. It's a shame though that film could not remain there !!!!
Although it’s no longer operating as a commercial cinema there have been several film premieres there in recent years. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Black Panther both had premiers at the Apollo.
I'm truly in love with Hammersmith Odeon Rock 'N' Roll concerts,Helen Mirren,Rosamud Pike and Steve Coogen, what a wonderful place.
Yes..thank goodness it's been restored ..so many places of this size were bulldozed in the 70's and 80's..fabulous place.,well filmed :)

A big regret of mine , never having seen a concert here when AC/DC and The Who used to play.
