Mine came off..i sprayed it last night with free all. Made lots of noise coming off and I was using a 24" break over bar and socket and wrench. It'd get too much to turn and I'd back off and then go again and finally it started making a lot of noise and then it started turning easier and finally came off. I think people make things too difficult and quit and just watch TV and play video games and go to parties and just put stuff on credit cards and then slow pay. I don't have the luxury of giving up and I hate having notes with anyone and that's why I'd prefer to drive something older.

1995 Ford F-150 whiney power steering. 300 4.9 lt. Replace hydraulic lines, steering box, pulley, tensor pully, serpentine belt, and have tried 4 remanufactured power steering pumps. I bought a vacuum bleeder kit for my pump. Cannot get whining out of steering. I use type F atf per my manual. I am just trying to find someone with answers. Thanks for any reply.

After 6 months, you've probably already figured this out. It is normal for the new pump to whine a bit almost like an old pump going bad. It should quiet down once it breaks in. Maybe a couple hundred miles max.

@@yohanabercrombie5397 Never quieted down. I just accept it now. When radio and blower are running I don't notice it.

better pray to god you never have to do the water pump on this. i had the best of luck, with my old ford, had to do the power steering bracket and the water pump, had a bolt break off in the power steering pump, somehow we were able to weld a nut to the bolt and back it out, but your truck is much much rustier than my truck and even i have 3 broken water pump studs. word of advice, if the pump ever goes, you might as well buy a timing cover and chain kit because 9 times out of 10 youre gonna bust a bolt off in the block

frankenstrat25 I went through this same thing. I soaked and torched the water pump bolts for three days and they finally came loose. I got lucky.

I spray the heck out of every nut and bolt with penetrating oil every time. It usually works.

Thanks for sharing this video . I am eventually going to replace my old power steering pump in my 93 Ford F -350 4x4 . I will be removing it off my truck the same way you did ... will be so much easier . I still have to buy a pulley removal kit .
Just wanted to know if the new / reman power steering pump had any side to side movement once the pulley wheel was installed . And if yes , how much ? Does anyone know if a small amount of side to side pulley play is normal on a new/reman pump ?

Why is it so hard for them to make a bolt on power steering pump pulley like on a Honda?

i dont want to sound like a dick, but if it ant fk dont fix it , what i mean is old things like auto trannys and staring pump ware out but at same time dirt and loose metal fills the worn gaps , the second you put new fluid (with has cleaners in it a a corrosive substance) you get a clean pump leaking like a sieve, and fales, .....
an old truck for shaft leeks on a power steering pump is a dab (small amount) of Brake Fluid till it stop (dont but to much it tern seals to mush) , it was good for expanding the seals , the seals would react to Brake Fluid in a hydraulic pump :) you get a little more life out them after your bright idea of flushing the system clean fk it up :)
