Minor correction. Emma Meeseman was not with the Sky in their championship season. She came over the next season. Still deserves the #1 spot, regardless.

I half expected a kind of joke in there somewhere, with A'ja Wilson because, even at #1, she's just so much better than everyone else that it feels like a steal.

Laney is easily one of my favorite players to watch. Good stuff.

As a Belgian I'm happy to see Emma on your number one spot. She's had a pretty darn good WNBA career but her international accolades are just mind boggling!

i’d add Napheesa Collier. her being taken at 6th was an absolute robbery on Minnesota’s part.

Oh absolutely. I didn’t include first round picks because I wanted to spotlight players people might not have heard about before, but yeah, awesome value at 6

Minnesota took Dorka Juhasz in the second round in 2023 and she made the All-Rookie Team. It's still early but do the list again in five years and she'll be on it.

Erin and Leilani were such elite Aussies. Leilani is still playing in the WNBL. I love that they gave Tammy some appreciation at the WNBA Canada Game a few weeks ago. Tiffany Hayes is retired from the W, but is having her best life abroad and still seems to be playing. It seems like Emma is not coming back to the W and I can't blame her. She has a much more favorable schedule, life, and income in Europe. I do miss her in the league though. Along with Emma, Erin, Leilani, and Tammy are also international players.

Good list! Agree that AC is the perfect role player. Amazing that she has 3 rings and is still one of the top 3 and d players in the league even at this stage of her career. Also, I remember Emma Meeseman winning one championship (not two) with the Washington Mystics and not the Chicago Sky back in 2019.

    I miss Emma. 🥹
Camille Little was a big help to Seattle.
    Tangela Smith was very unique.
Laney and Clark came a long way. 😮
Cloud was a BIG steal in DC. Now she’s giving Phoenix some life with KC.
I miss Allie Quigley too. 🥹
This proves you gotta do your homework as a scout.
You can get some solid players outside the first round.

Crazy that the Sparks traded Mabrey to the Wings for a 2nd rounder. As a Sparks fan, that keeps me up at night. I really hope they do not screw this new core up.

Thanks for this summary, keep on doing it! Personally I had the chance to observe some of these athletes playing in Poland ( Quigley, Hayes, Clark). And I thought about Erica Wheeler - current and past champion with Polkowice - she was not officially drafted, but her WNBA records look quite impressive though....

I did! She was going to be on the list & very high, but as I noted in the intro, I didn’t include players that played in the ABL before being drafted in the WNBA
