We are doing a science unit this year for my kindergartner that I built around The Magic School Bus. Basically I just bought the boxed set DVDs of it. Looked up the topics of each episode on Wikipedia. Then I did TPT or just Google search for worksheets on the topic on the level I wanted. And Pinterest for some projects and experiments. I printed it all out and organized it in a notebook. I'm gonna hit up our library for books on the different topics. That's our plan for kindergarten science.
I like TGTB science studies but I totally understand what you mean about it not being enough. I did The Fabulous Human Body by Heron Books with my fourth and second grader this year and we loved it! I did add in a YT video, body models, and picture books but it was a great study for their age. They have other science units available too.
Finally. Everyone seems to rant and rave about Bravewriter and I tried one (so glad I didn't buy a full year) and it did not work for us. Thanks for your other ideas.

It had a few good moments but yea, I’m
Glad I only got the one book.
I agree on TGATB…I want to love their science units. 😅
And yet I keep going back thinking a different unit will be a different experience. 🤪
I do the same. 😅
Love those book studies!!
Me too!! They’ve been so fun.
I think you would enjoy TGATB Science for Little Hearts and Hands!
I am sure not none to say no to something I’ve never tried! 😊 I’ll have to look at it.
I love the idea of the book studies ! What grade or age would you recommend to get those started ?
It just depends on your child’s reading level. I did it with my 8 year old and it was just perfect for us.
We tried a Bravewriter dart as well, and it wasn’t what I expected either…
Glad to hear I’m not alone!
