    You're one of the most inspiring flower growers that I've followed for years, and I love your methods of growing your beautiful flower gardens and seeing your bouquets in your flower stand! I have also had interesting things happen in my flower gardens concerning diseases and pests. For about three years, I had powdery mildew on my zinnias by the middle to end of the summer. Then, last year I planted my zinnias in a different garden bed, and there was no powdery mildew and almost no pests, and I didn't do anything different as far as watering and fertilizing! I planted them near my Thai basil, and both flowered beautifully together 🤗

    It is prayer 🙏 Psalm 34: 17 the righteous cry out and the Lord hears them he delivers them from all their troubles!! I can't remember where the other verse is but the battle is not yours he will take care of those who do evil toward you. That's paraphrased God is good all the time!! This was your best video I love it I hope you'll do it again so enjoyed it.

    Fab recap video, Danielle! Always so interesting & instructive. Whether growing for a flower stand or a productive, long-blooming personal garden, your understanding of limitations of both personal climate site as well as how to make a garden the perfect manageable size as well as suit your needs, is more helpful than I can express! To create a beautiful, doable garden well is the goal of any real gardener & you show us how to do it! It's always a joy to visit you, your garden & your channel. Truly inspiring!

    Hi Danielle, I purchased a Geum last year at a local nursery and they only had a handful. This year I'm going to check out Black Creek Greenhouses in East Earl, PA (about four miles on Rt 625 off Rt 23) and see what they have growing. They have a perennial map and Geum is listed on the map. We visit Shady Maple Smorgasboard and then head to Black Creek before heading home.

    You were talking about cats using your raised beds for a litter box. I like cats but that is the reason I don't have any cats. I had plenty of neighborhood cats using my flower beds. I heard that fever few keeps them out so I planted them in several places and it seems to be working. No problem with that all last year.

    Hi!! I just watched your video “a year at my flower stand” and I absolutely loved it! I grow cut flowers in a small area in my backyard and was looking to do ranunculus this year. I have done them in the past but just bought corms from Lowe’s my local big box store here where I live, I saw that you bought your corms from Longfield Gardens. I live in Missouri and I usually pre-sprout my corms in March and then put them out into the garden in April. I saw in your video that you put them out a little earlier and I might try to do that. To make a long story short when I looked on their website, I wasn’t able to buy the corms that I wanted because it said spring and the shipping date wouldn’t be until April. When do you typically buy your corms? I’m hoping to call them and see if I can get them earlier or do you have any suggestions on where else I can maybe get some within the next month or so? Love your videos! Thank you so much in advance.

    Great video as always. I’m with you on the zinnias and plan on using the rest of my seeds as to not waste them. I had also decided this summer that I needed more strawflowers too. Your bouquets are absolutely beautiful as always but feel they are worth way more than $20 just saying. Any tips on growing saponaria? And how do you get those bachelors button so tall? Well thank you for your videos and the wealth of information you provide. Your garden is exactly what I wish I can emulate and it looks so seamless and and the flow is amazing it really takes such talent and vision to be able to do what you have done. Thank you again for all the time you devote to your channel.

    Try planting nasturtiums. I had black black aphids (I didn’t know what they were until I saw your channel thank you) on my dahlias one year and I planted nasturtium and they all disappeared from the dahlias and went straight to the nasturtiums

  • @Tobhiyah
    @Tobhiyah 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I read once about a process some people used to control aphids that was based on them liking the fresh tender new growth & it was warmer. Their theory was if you cut plants back before it got hot, when it got warmer and the aphids converged, they would have older growth that they didn't like 💐 I wonder if that may be kind of what happened with your ranunculus. The foliage and the entire plant was not as tender and young, so not as tender & tasty?

    • @NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens
      @NorthlawnFlowerFarmandGardens  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi Jane! I leave all the landscape lilies in the garden. I leave a third of the stem behind to replenish the bulb for next year. If I grow lilies in a raised bed, I usually cut them at ground level and compost the bulb. Full disclosure: My full-time job is writing for a bulb supplier so I'm able to get bulbs for free. I probably wouldn't treat lilies as an annual if I was paying full price for them.
