I watch out every time you come on I love the way you all talk and all on here y'all have really been blessed but everything God bless you all love you all
I am looking into this for sure. I am currently without power again. It has been a recurring problem for us for several months, like most the country has been as well. It’s time to invest in this.
I have a niece who lives in Sulphur about three or four blocks from where the tornado hit.She only lost a tree and was in the storm shelter when it hit.She likes to jog and a few days after the storm went running. She said when she came into the area hit by the storm, she had to stop and cry. While she was stopped someone came to her and ask if she wanted something to eat or drink. She has only lived in Sulphur for just over a year, moved there to retire. She likes Sulphur a lot but was still shocked of the kindness of the people.
Gosh, I'm sorry this happened right after she moved here--I've been here since my boys were entering junior high, so late 80's, and this is the first direct hit our town has taken since I've been here. And the kindness of the locals is one of the things that drew me here to begin with. We had lived in Midwest City, a suburb of Oklahoma City, and gangs had become such a problem in the area that I was truly worried for our safety. My folks had recently bought a place in the Sulphur area, and we visited every month, especially at the holidays. I had been struck at how kind everyone was, everybody waved at you when you drove by even if they didn't know you, so we moved here. And they're still like that. During the pandemic, I became almost a hermit and my children lived elsewhere, so I got in the habit of driving over to the SnakShak every night. I tried to buy something each time but mostly it was just to visit with another human being. They didn't care, they smiled and talked to me just like we were related. LOL, sorry to babble, I'm just glad your daughter retired here, it's a good place and these are good people.
I’m a 70 year old woman from Tucson, AZ. I love hearing you both talk (it’s just that Daniel talks so much faster. That makes what DeeJay has to say all the more special. I love the donkeys and the Alpacas (My name is Tina-no joking). I’ll be praying. I have a Heavenly Father who promised he’d be listening. Blessings to all.
Saw an update yesterday from Dusty, and he had very similar things to share. It's sad to see the old things destroyed, but I'm hoping and praying for good things to eventually come from all of this destruction.
This could be a new show for HGTV. Remember when the Napier's came in and helped a whole town out. Love to see them rebuild the historical parts. Get it going Daniel.
I’m 52 years old. I accidentally knocked over our oil burner that we heated our house with right before Christmas when I was 5. I still see the flames running through our kitchen as I yelled and got my mom and sisters awake. Things like that live with you. I’m still sending prayers for the town.
I’m in Iowa where all the flooding is going on and not looking forward to how long it is going to be to get things back to a new normal. We have roads that are completely gone and the landscape has changed. Still praying for Sulphur and the long recovery. Please pray for us too.
Just a suggestion...take some of the bricks from different buildings and use them to build a new clock tower somewhere downtown as a dedication to the town someway. The town where I lived did kind of the same thing only bricks were sold in exchange for having names or business names engraved in the bricks.
DJ I don't find you guys boring. I find you amazing to deal with the heart break and still find a silver lining behind the clouds. Hang in there. There is an old Jewish proverb that says, "when God closes a door He always opens a window".
I never get bored with the two of you! You both make me smile and help me get thru my challenging, painful days. You do change my world, as it is, with being housebound & recliner/bedbound for 10 1/2 years. You change my world in such wonderful ways. Our kids and grandkids are all up in Connecticut and don't get to video chat much, so I spend more time with you than I do with them. Our "kids" are in their mid to upper 40's, so they are younger than you both, so you both bring out the proud Mom in me when I watch you. Oh. I love the "Do Your Best" tank top and visor that you recently delivered to me. It will be great encouragement for Mike, my 97 year old Dad that lives with us, and me! I love that you share your faith and God with us. It truly helps us. Thank you. Stay safe, okay? With loads of prayers and love, Donna Gulyas in Spring Hill, CT.
Tell DJ we love you and love to listen to you, but I also love to listen to DJ. I have special feelings for your family, your videos I open first when I turn on my computer. Emily and Houston are the same ages as a two of my grandchildren, they are brother and sister also. You just hold a special place in my heart.
You and your brother inlaw are on the same track. Dusty was on yesterday talking about Sulfur. My typing teacher in high school was from Sulfer Her last name was Gilmore. That was back in the 1970's I graduated in 1973 . MY hometown is Conroe Texas.
God has surely Blessed Sulphur, Ok and I for one will be happy to donate more to the cause. If another gifting takes shape Please let us know Daniel.I know Baltimore is still cleaning up the mess from the bridge being taken out. They did finally get that ship out of here yesterday. Gonna take about 4 years and a couple billion dollars to get it all done right. I just want to stay alive to see the bridge rebuilt and our area to be some what normal again. I love my Arms Family. God Bless and be safe.
Saddens me to see the aftermath of that tornado 2 months later. I cannot begin to imagine how hard it must be for those who went through it. I'm 74 years old and I know how difficult it is for me to do what I used to do with no difficulty now. But starting over is well beyond what I can grasp at any age let alone elderly or disabled persons starting over. Pray that God blesses Sulfur as richly as it was destroyed and that it comes back even better than it was.
We do love hearing Daniel talk sharing stories, explaining things wether with his land management and of course fishing or just life. It is a highlight of my day!
Guys, like it will take year for your town to recover and heal and sad that this happen to you guys and town and family and I pray for you guys everyday
My family and I were there 2 weeks ago for my family reunion and drove through the devastation. It was devastating to see all the destruction from the tornado
thank you for an update on downtown so sad I saw a video that Dusty made on the big park, that made me cry. I still pray for all you guys everyday. Stay strong and be Blessed love you guys
Its called insurance. Here in our two years after Ida a lot of people are still rebuilding. Have faith and remember it is just stuff and can be replaced. Good luck keep up the good work.
In 2016 our entire Parish, along with many other Parishes, were flooded. One normal size river had increased by 25 miles wide. And that was just one. Lots of other rivers and bayous fed into, or out of that river. And you can still drive around and see homes that have not been touched. Our Daughter in Law’s father died last year from mold that was hidden inside the home. Not only did everyone lose just about everything that they owned, there were people going around ripping off families, saying they would do the work to rebuild, but took the money and ran. I had just finished treatments for breast cancer, the month before, and I had to learn how to do things that I had never done before. It took 2 years of working every day. My husband worked at a plant, and would come work about an hour, then go work 12 hours, then come back and work well into the night. He slept very little. It was so hard. So I know what those people are going through. I pray for everyone that was involved in helping to clean up and rebuild. So to drive around and see homes still in ruins after this long is hard to see.
Good to see you out I seen a little bit on Cross Timbers Bison channel was hoping to see one from DJ and you soon. Sadly it will take a while to rebuild and get back to a normal town life again. It took Joplin MO how long to rebuild after the tornado in 2011. But from the looks like it the town is getting cleaner and one day it will be just back to normal. Good luck with all the rebuilding and getting back to normal. Hope this can just be a past reminder as time goes on and life moves forward.❤❤❤
I remember when the tornado came through here, it was total devastation! And it was back in 2011 or 12. Some parts of town are still in disrepair! The insurance has to have paid out by now! It’s crazy! It will never be the same! I know there’s a reason for everything and God’s got a plan! So I just go with whatever God gives me! Lots of prayers for y’all! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤
@michaelcombsI 2508 I respectfully disagree! Ordered anything lately, been in a grocery store lately and seen WHERE so much our food and everyday items comes from?? Read labels and you may change your mind. js
@@lindahitt6825 then you are not paying attention to the facts. Trump destroyed the country due to his inept COVID response. Biden has fixed it. Those are verified facts. Under Biden prices are down, wages are up. Biden put 15.6 million people to work. The U.S. has the best recovery in the world from I flation thx to Biden.
Today’s video was very sad but a necessary reminder that it will take months and years to recover from the destruction the tornado brought to your community. If donations are still being accepted for the people of Sulfur; would you mind sharing that link once again? May God Bless the people of Sulfur, Oklahoma!
This video reminded me of our small town here. I live in Cullman Alabama. It’s about an hour north of Birmingham. April 26,2011 our town was hit by an EF-4 tornado during that historic outbreak. A lot of historic buildings and homes destroyed but the Spirit of the people is more powerful than any brick and mortar building. It took a couple of years to get back to normal and I’m sure your hometown will be the same. Sulpher Strong my friend.
That shock never leave, I'm a 65+ yr old woman that went thru tornado in 1965 in Minnesota. My Auntie and Uncle's house was the only thing left standing for blocks. They slept 40+ people in their basement for the first night including me. The state locked down the entire community for days. No person could come in if your driver's license said that you didn't live the community. You had no business being there. You couldn't walk in or drive in. My dad tried many times to come get me. Finally my uncle walked me out to the border crossing and my dad was there to take me home. For many years just the tv saying there was tornado watch up would put me in the basement for the day. That is what terror is. My highschool graduation was held under tornado watch and was in gymnasium I sat as close to girls locker room just in case. I'm better now then when I was younger. Hey Daniel, did you mess with tree branch, noticed the cut and slightly darken under eye?
Daniel has a scar on his left cheek from a hot shell that flipped inside his safety glasses while at the shooting range. That happened a few months before he quit the OHP. I have noticed it gets redder when he gets hot and sweaty.
I watched over forty years ago as my small town was slowly dying. Yours has been hit very hard. I worry that it might not be able to recover. Hopefully I am wrong. People are moving more to rural areas, like yours and they do need a town for many things. Be safe.
I remember when Xenia, OH was hit 04.03.1974, 50 years ago. I don't know what was more shocking to see, the damage or the bare spots after clean up. The tornado devasted 2 subdivisions. I remember how the tornado just cleaned the whole house of their slabs. Some only had a bathtub or closet standing and come to find out that was where people took shelter. And survived! Talk about a miracle. Sixty years later, you can still see the evidence of the tornado in the shapes of the trees.
Between the deadly tornadoes and now the deadly flooding here in Iowa, thousands of homes and businesses are severely damaged or destroyed completely. It’s been a rough time for the Midwest this year.
During ANDREW the blue tarps were everywhere. The Community call country walk was destroyed the club house and model you could still see but the Non inspected homes (shingle nail held on roofs) were flat.
We love both of you.Sarah sulphur and marietta are going through the hard times no we don't get bored listening to either one of you and yes we love the donkeys too
Hi Daniel and Family. Looking better but still a long way to go. So much history lost. Will probably take years to get some what back to normal. Praying for yall in Sulphur God bless and love yall ❤❤
It’s quite heartbreaking that a storm passing through can cause so much damage to people’s homes, businesses, and life. I had a tear in my eye watching you drive through the town . It will probably take the rest of some people’s life for the town to recover . Prayers for all the people caught up in any damages whether storm related or war related around the world . Take care and Stay safe 👍
I live in Central Florida and we used to (20-30 years ago) to get lots of tornadoes in our area. I once was awakened at around 3 in the morning to the whole house shaking and it was a frightening thing to go through!! The next morning, we went outside to see the damage. We had a small camper tied down on blocks in the back yard that was turned upside down and a few limbs that had blown down from the trees. Our home was not harmed at all, neither was there any damage at all o any of the rest of our property!! Right across the street, however, our neighbor lost their roof!! Our prayers were surely answered that morning!! Thank You Jesus!!!
2 of my sister's live in Greenfeild Iowa and I was texting then as I was watching RYAN HALL the same time they were. They missed getting hit by 4 blocks. I've worked in that town for 5 years. I went the next day and could not find my way around. All the land marks were wiped out. Over 380 homes and businesses are wiped out. Literally evaporated. I had just watched what you all went thru and learned a lot from you. People think tornados are so cool, until they are not. 4 people died in town, another on the highway. I think almost 40 injuries and a boat load of God's blessings.
It is very eye-opening to see the after effect of a disaster. It is easy to think about people when they are the current headline but a lot of time they get forgotten when the next disaster hits the news. I’m glad that you are not letting them and Sulfur Springs just fade into yesterday’s news. Thank you for sharing, talking and talking about petting donkeys.
One of the best things they can do is install berms around the houses to deflect the wind. These flimsy stick-frame houses are just matchsticks in the face of a tornado. If you have the house torn up do some retrofitting with some wind straps from the walls to the roof trusses. I have metal rods that run from the foundation to the roof every 4 feet all around the house. Have narrow soffits around the house so the winds have less to grab onto. If you have the chance, install deep pile hook points. If a tornado is coming you can toss the wires over the house and ratchet them down. My house has layered shutters I can set in place quick. 2 hook points on the top and then lower over the window. Lag bolts get screwed down to lock them off. I would do a survey of the town using an aerial map and plot the damage of the tornado coming through. Perhaps some neighborhood storm shelters might be in order. We built one under the new wing of our elementary school near us. It's fully underground and will hold the whole school plus a lot more folks. One idea to consider is a place to drive your car into that is concrete and like a bermed garage. You can pull in with your car and be safe. The other thing you can do is work with the utility company to have an auto shutoff of gas, electric and water from the central hub so it eliminates a zap, boom, and flood potential. I have no idea why house A is destroyed but house B is untouched. I have seen amazing things during cleanups. China on the wall of a destroyed house untouched is an example. Small-town folks come together in an emergency and have the biggest hearts of anyone I know.
I'm still praying for y'all and everyone in your community! I love small town rural living! We live in rural West Texas and we've been having a lot of severe storms in our areas but we've been very fortunate that our small town of 2800 people has been missed so far this year! God bless y'all
David from Fayetteville. Sorry about everyone's loss. Have been watching shows about farmers and cattle ranchers up north. They are having bumper crops on hay but soybeans and corn have been a washout. Unbelievable rain. Fields flooded . Rivers flooded and its all pouring into the Mississippi River. Watch out Southeast Arkansas!
Reminds me of the 2016 flood in Louisiana. We didn’t flood but over 100000 homes and families etc lost everything in hours. Rebuildingbstill hasn’t happened in areas. Building supplies were issues. Insurance took forever . Then where does the debri go. Kind of like with Katrina , some took the insurance money and left! Places and homes will come back but it will take years !
No, it does not. We literally lost everything to Ian. Had to relocate up to Ocala, far inland, and away from water. The loss of family roots that go back a few generations is equally hard to swallow. Yes, you do move forward and somehow you overcome, but you never forget, and emotionally you never quite get completely over the loss.
@@BinfordMJ I am sorry you had to endure that. Ft Myers Beach will never be the same. It is going to become another corporate Island only inhabited by vastly wealthy people. That is a shame it will lose that friendly feel.
@@joeyl.rowland4153 Thank you, and you are right. I still remember staying in the Pink Shell cottages at that beach in the 60's as a child. It was a special way of life that is gone for good.
Glad you and DeJay took us back into town. I went through a terrible rain and hail storm that damaged my home with flooding and hail damage not to long ago. Insurance doesn’t cover it all. Tough to come back from but I am setting in my living room watching you two today so I am thankful. Oh yes I almost forgot. I do not get tired of listening to you but DeJay has to live with you. LOL God Bless
Thanks for sharing your town. I so understand what your community it going through. Our town went through the Caldor Fire almost 3 years ago. We only had a 2 room school house, Community Church, Post Office and Fire Department. All of them burned down and we just Now got a post office and still don’t have a school or anything else! 80% of our town burned down, but many are now rebuilding. It will take years for the trees to come back, but there are wild flowers and beautiful. Prayers for all in Sulphur!
It is so sad to see the devastation that a tornado can do. Your town looks so beautiful beyond all the piles of people's lives. I do pray they can find some way to build back. Sending prayers.
I may have not grown up or even been to Sulphur but for the History loss to me that is sad. Thanks you for the update. My heart still goes out to y'all.
We will never get bored or tired of watching and listening to your videos and your family. Your family is the best keep on what your doing and keep those videos coming hopefully some longer ones if possible.
My family and I have seen so much destruction from tornadoes over many years across the country. It never gets any easier and it's always the same feeling of helplessness. Not know where and how to help. But I will say my entire family does have survivors guilt, regardless of where we live. It will never get any easier, either. It saddens my family and I that we can only do so much. As it stands, we can only offers up our prayers. If for noting else, but to give y'all the peace you need. I love you guys, including Dusty, Marisa and Brooks.
It is very sad to see so many in need to help still. I do pray that your little town will be able to rebuild like an old western town to draw in visitors. God bless 🇨🇦
I'm from Idaho from small towns. And I couldn't even imagine the devastation that you all went through in your Hometown prayers for all of you.I hope everything is successful in your town to rebuild
Bless you 😅 guys. Stay strong for yourselves and your comm, you are so strong in your faith and will; you really are an example for others. Dan You keep talking and DJ keep petting your "🫏 Donkey Poodles 🐩. 💕 Love you all♥️♥️♥️
God bless Your family and every other family that was affected by the devastating loss from these storms. I want to cry each time I watch what every one continues to deal with and will for years to come. I live in a small town in Vermont and am not used to Tornadoes here in the mountains, a couple days ago we had a tornado warning in our small community and while the Lord blessed us and it didn’t happen, I was very nervous and really didn’t know what to expect. But, it sure made me better understand what you folks are going through. I pray help will come through soon for all of you.
Went to Joplin a month after the tornado there. Cleanup was happening but the destruction was so massive. 2 months later we did a volunteer day of service with the company I worked for. Lots of area had been cleared of debris and rebuilding had just started. Didn’t return to Joplin for 3 years. The change was remarkable. Many new apartments, homes, and businesses had replaced things lost in the storm.
Even if it's only a little, it's good to see some "move ahead" happening in your town. God bless you folks, and I pray all remain resilient and focused on recovery.
Brakes, my heart. I was in one when I was little and it was bad. When I was pregnant with my youngest son we were in one and it was so scary. Some happened to us. Some was hit hard and some not. We got some but my friend lost a lot. We did as yall did we spent weeks goin from house to house to help every one we could. Love yall. Praying still for yall
Takes a heck of a long time tong recover from tornadoes damage my daughter lost her home but she was not the only one. So my deepest sympathy to all the people affected.
Same with Claremore. Its interesting to see our old buildings. Claremore is trying to reuse the upper levels of their old builds before we got hit last month. We are about a month behind you all. USDA will help with your fences and farm area.
Thanks for the update, It is always difficult to see what other people have to cope with. Natural disasters are devastating but as you said, "In five years you may look back on this and see a blessing in disguise!"
7:50 I ordered a ‘Do Your Best’ tumbler last week. I originally thought I wasn’t getting it until yesterday (Monday the 6/24) BUT I got it on Saturday the 22nd. I was pleasantly surprised. I assume I was one of the 600 orders. Thank you guys! I’m absolutely in love it!
Just wanted to say, you have such a positive attitude about life. I been a fan for the last couple of years. I just admire you and your wife’s commitment to each other. God Bless both of you.

This is where Prayers and Hope live..
Thanks Daniel
My family and I were there 2 weeks ago for my family reunion and drove through the devastation. It was devastating to see all the destruction from the tornado
thank you for an update on downtown so sad I saw a video that Dusty made on the big park, that made me cry. I still pray for all you guys everyday. Stay strong and be Blessed love you guys
I just love Kelce. So sorry the town is pretty much destroyed. Hope they can start getting thing back to at least a semi normal.
Its called insurance. Here in our two years after Ida a lot of people are still rebuilding. Have faith and remember it is just stuff and can be replaced. Good luck keep up the good work.
And what happens after one too many natural disasters and your insurance is cancelled?
We love hearing what Daniel and you DJ have to say. ❤
🙏
Bringing manufacturing back to the US is where the recovery all starts for our entire country.
Joe Biden has done that
@michaelcombsI 2508 I respectfully disagree!
Amen to that ! We need to help our own country, not other countries …

Thank you for sharing your experience.
I watched over forty years ago as my small town was slowly dying. Yours has been hit very hard. I worry that it might not be able to recover. Hopefully I am wrong. People are moving more to rural areas, like yours and they do need a town for many things. Be safe.
❤❤❤❤
Daniel is a trooper likes to talk !!!
It’s not just rambling though! He’s informative!
Just bring tears to my eyes. All that y'all went through
Extremely heart-wrenching.
The City Counsel needs to allow emergency trailers to be ok'ed to help home owners to
stay in the area.
Thankyou for showing the update on Sulpher...A terrible mess ...Prayers to all involved....Please stay safe and see you on the next one
Your little town has a strong history with strong people. The good LORD will only give you what you can overcome. Lots of prayers to y'all
Dejay we like him talking but we love seeing you visit his videos 🎉🎉🎉
It's going to be years before the town comes back, to normal, but what is normal town will never be the same...
It will recover as long as the townspeople don't leave.
Thanks for the update on the town Daniel and DeJay, we can tell that y’all really love your town! Y’all are awesome people! 👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
My heart breaks for this beautiful little town - prayers for healing 🌹💖🌹
2 of my sister's live in Greenfeild Iowa and I was texting then as I was watching RYAN HALL the same time they were. They missed getting hit by 4 blocks. I've worked in that town for 5 years. I went the next day and could not find my way around. All the land marks were wiped out. Over 380 homes and businesses are wiped out. Literally evaporated. I had just watched what you all went thru and learned a lot from you. People think tornados are so cool, until they are not. 4 people died in town, another on the highway. I think almost 40 injuries and a boat load of God's blessings.
You’re right Daniel on listening to you!
Thanks for sharing the update regarding Sulphur. It really is a work in progress.
My heart breaks for your city sending prayers your way
One of the best things they can do is install berms around the houses to deflect the wind.
My thoughts exactly!
I'm still praying for y'all and everyone in your community! I love small town rural living! We live in rural West Texas and we've been having a lot of severe storms in our areas but we've been very fortunate that our small town of 2800 people has been missed so far this year! God bless y'all
We got hit by the 2011 tushka tornado so i know what you folks are going through . Prayers for the community.
The shock does not leave you. I still have pictures of Ft.Myers Beach after Ian. Your little town will never be the same😢😢😢
No, it does not.
Praying for all the families that the tornado disrupted. Thanks for the update. Thanks for both of your beautiful smiles. Have a blessed day.
Love to watch both of you talking, and Houston. Need more 35-45 minute videos from time to time.❤😎
Thanks for the update. Praying for all who lost! ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
LOL God Bless
so sad to loose so much yet we know God will help with all of it. God bless you for sharing with us.
Daniel I NEVER NEVER get tired of you talking.
We do enjoy listening to you talk 😁 Thanks for giving all of us an update. Keeping the whole town in our prayers. God bless from Texas 🙏🏻❤
Still feeling bad for your home town and the people who lost their homes and businesses. God bless you from Port Huron Michigan ❤.
I feel the same Dejay. Looking at this again with you guys made me cry. I feel so bad for all these people😢
Went to Joplin a month after the tornado there.
Daniel it's been two years sence a tornado hit my area and the closest town Mayfield, Ky. and they still haven't gotten all the area cleared.
Even if it's only a little, it's good to see some "move ahead" happening in your town. God bless you folks, and I pray all remain resilient and focused on recovery.
Well I will Pray for you all, And God Bless you you all
Brakes, my heart.
Deejay we like to hear you BOTH talk!
I don’t get bored of either of yall! Continued prayers for your sweet town!
Thanks for the update, It is always difficult to see what other people have to cope with. Natural disasters are devastating but as you said, "In five years you may look back on this and see a blessing in disguise!"
Both of you have a wonderful disposition and I always like listening to you
Thank you for sharing. Just so sad .
I watched Dusty’s video showing storm damage in the national park. Was very appreciative that he did that
7:50 I ordered a ‘Do Your Best’ tumbler last week.
