  • This tutorial shows a convergent modeling of a plaque.
Initial stl file can be downloaded from here:
    grabcad.com/library/3d-scanne...
The turorial uses some polygon modeling features:
    - Cleanup Facet Body: 1:51
    - Decimate: 2:38
    - Close Notch: 4:50
    -Fill Hole: 5:21
You can check some supported convergent modeling features:
    - Scale Body: 5:45
    - Unite: 6:56

Hi, do you do jewelry? Solid body will have many faces and a large size.

Hello, you cannot export facet bodies to step 214 format, try with step242 that if it supports facet bodies, regards.

      Hi jbnovell,
you are absolutely right! I've been working on a new video to show the differences between the application protocols. On the other hand not every CAD software support AP242, and sometimes we had some STEP export problem on academic and industrial licensed NX (export and save as did not worked). In case of emergency other method to convert stl to solid canbe lifesaver (video will be uploded asap).

Hello! I dont have this environment for some reason in my NX12 do you know why?

      Hi,
in NX12 you should use the Reverse Engineering tab and you will find a Polygon Modeling icon, or simply use the command finder and type Polygon Modeling.
      Hope this helps!

@@CADTutorialsSGT I have done it but I need the texture command but it doesn't exist. Also you cant use polygon modeling for every part

So... How to save this file to have a 'full' step file with convergent elements?

      Hi Gall,
I'll upload a video with different export settings to see the results.
